Back after 6 months and 20 pounds gained back :(

  • Hello all.
I have been away for about 6 months dealing with some personal issues, but I also slowly stopped exercising and let the "treat", "once in a great while" foods become more and more my normal foods. :P This last month has been a free for all.
But I am recommitting myself today and have already been eating healthy again for a week. I am building up my exercise again and never want to be back here again. I got to the point where I was AFRAID to weigh myself and see how much I'd gained back.
Does anyone have some motivating personal story to share about how good it felt to get back into it?
  • I hope you are doing well on your personal life, if you need to ever vent we are all here to help you get through anything. Welcome back and back to motivationville!
  • I'm usually afraid to weigh myself after one of those spells. The trick is not to let the number rule your life. Sure, kick yourself in the butt because you need one but don't let your high weight be an excuse to give in to unhealthy habits again.
I yo-yo'd all the time until I found my own formula. It won't always feel good to get back into it but you have something to look forward to- tomorrow and the day after and the day after and all the other days when you'll be healthy and smaller. That has always been what motivated me climb back on the wagon again.
