Thank you for the words of encouragement. Yes, I do still care!
I actually went and exercised. Now all those happy endorphens are running around my brain. Maybe that bungee cord snapped me back too. Thanks again, I really needed it! Jen |
Hi everyone
Hi everyone- just stopped in to say hello. I had a wonderful day. It was beautiful here today. I took advantage of it and went walking. I walked to our town park which is a little over a mile each way, so I got 2 1/4 miles in. It felt great! It's nice to finally see the grass again, that alone was worth the walk:)
Melekalikimaka- that bungee cord harness sounds like a great idea, I'll have to remember that next time I get discouraged:D Jen- glad to hear the exercising helped you feel back on track. It's so easy to get discouraged sometimes. It's to bad we can't just snap our fingers and be at our goal weight- boy that would be great:) Well I hope everyone has a great day. Take care. Di |
Missed weigh in yesterday. I am down 1lb which is remarkable considering how i nibbled on chocolate all week. Congrats to all the losers!
|
I had a loss!
I weighed in at 208 this week! Down from last weeks 210. So down two lbs!!!
My MIL was moved back into ICU, we had a rough weekend! Thanks everyone!! Paula |
Paula, I am sending good thoughts your way for your MIL. I hope she gets better soon. Congrats on the 2 pound loss! You are doing awesome especially with all the stress you must be under.
|
Well I checked the scale this morning. I am down 4 lbs. from last Saturday! I'm feeling it too. I actually put on some pants this morning that I haven't worn for a few months. Something is working! I think I'll go work out, again! Two days in a row! I'm a loser!!
Jen |
I'm finally able to Post!!!!!!!!!
Hi all. I missed Saturday's weigh-in because I couldn't post! Sounds like we're all struggling, some with better results than others! Myself...I may have lost a pound, but my scale's not so good, so I'm calling it a maintain.
I don't know if anyone remembers...it was during the last challenge when I mentioned I wasn't getting my e-mail notifications? I thought it was all something to do with this sight and then I realized last week that my e-mailbox had been extremely quiet other than the occassional SPAM. I sent out an e-mail to several of my friends asking for a reply and got NO replies. A bit odd to say the least. I made a new screen-name for myself and then (DUH) changed my profile on this sight to reflect the new name. I figured it was worth a try. Unfortunately, they then had to send me an e-mail to confirm the address I gave them and since I didn't get any e-mail at that address EITHER, I couldn't respond to it. Hence, my inability to post or PM or change my profile back... What a FRIGGIN' nightmare. Anyway, glad to be here. Jen519 |
This place has been pretty slow latly Jen. I am glad to see that you are back with us though.
I have deceided that I am not going to do the next challenge the same way as the other ones. I have had really good results but it is time to start working on the body fat. I am not to sure if I will make this challenge b/c we are going on vacation and I am not going to eat clean the entire time that I am there. I will let myself go a little. I think I am going to go for a body fat percentage loss instead. I have easy access to a anyliser so I will use it instead of the scale. I hope all of you are doing ok. You all must be busy. |
I hate it when the threads slow down too. I could just yap all day but there isn't anyone around. I hope evryone is doing great and losing all they want to. My period has left so hopefully I will show a good loss this week. I am so close to the size 10's that it hurts.
Kempy, I like your idea to measure body fat. I don't know if I would want to know how much of my body is fat though. I would probably have to cry. Congrats Jen on the 4 pound loss!!! AWESOME JOB!!!! |
Angie I am sure it isn't that bad. You have been doing some form of strength exercises havn't you? Every little bit helps. I wonder if there is a place in your town like a doctors office that would have skin fold callipers so you could get it checked. Is there a rehab facility close to you?
|
I have been doing the elliptical and bike for an hour every day and just recently I started playing with 8 pound weights at night. A gym? We have one at the end of my street. We have a YMCA in Dover too. Do all gyms do that?
|
Some of them do. It all depends on if they want to spend the money on the equipment to do it. I would call to see if they have something to do it with. Since you aren't a member they may charge you like $5 or something.
|
Wow. You guys are right. This board is really quiet this month. Now that I have access to a computer at work again and it's REALLY slow, I should be posting a bit more often. It's been hard to take the time with spending 2 3/4 hours a day on a bus! I'll be so glad when they open the shop closer to home. Then it'll be back to a 10-mile, 20-minute commute 1-way. I like that much better.
Because of this new job, I had to reschedule my daughter's ice-skating lesson for 6:30 A.M. on Thursdays. That means I'll have to get up before 5:00 and I'll still have to drive in to Seattle that one day. At least I'll get home before 6:00 P.M. on Thursdays. Most days I get up at 5:30, catch the bus at 6:30 and have a little snooze-fest on the bus for 45 minutes! I'm still eating like my old self, but at least I AM getting in my walks. Take care everyone! Jen519 |
Maybe once you get more into a routine Jen you will be able to get things under control. I notcie that if things are crazy for me I will stop working out and eat more. I know that is the wrong thing to do but it just happens. At least you are still walking that does account for something.
|
Thought I would check in, we are having very trying times. My MIL is still in ICU, they told us yesterday not to expect her home any time soon!
I have been struggling with my hunger!! I have kept my slip ups to a minimum, so I hope to see a loss this week!! Hope is the word here!! Exercise has NOT been good this week:( I have lost 5 lbs so far on the challenge and really want to met my goal of 8lbs by the 24th. Maybe so since I have till the 24th! Hope everybody is doing ok! Paula |
Hey everyone. Let's make some noise!
Paula, I'm saying a prayer for a speedy recovery for your MIL and strength for your family  . You've lost 5 lbs already and that is admirable considering all the stress you're experiencing. I would be totally emotionally eating. You're doing good. Keep the faith!
Jen519 just keep up that walking, every bit helps. Settling into a routine would definitely help with the eating part. Don't stress too much about it, just keep moving. After griping to myself in my journal about not losing any weight this month thus far, the scale was very nice to me this morning. It's finally moving down!!! Well TOM is finally over so maybe that was my hang up :chin: . I'll make the official report on Saturday... Ugh, I don't think I'd want to know what my body fat % is. I don't need anything else on my mind to think about what needs fixin' . Everyone else, hang in there! We can do this! I think this bungee cord works great. |
Hello all! I have been mia most of this week because I've been sick, sick, sick. It was like the worst cold ever. I'm still coughing and my lungs hurt, but other than that, I'm fine. I missed my exercise four days this week because of it.:( But I got back on it today. It's looking like I'll have a decent loss this week. We went shopping last night and I got some new, pretty spring clothes. So I'm feeling up today. AND it's supposed to be in the 60's this weekend!!!!:D Oh happy day. Have a great one everybody. TGIF!!!!!
|
I will be getting back right at the end of this challenge so I am going to say that I have maintained and not lost anything. I am sure that I might even put on some things while we are away. Hubby and I are going to bring our workout clother and I think if he goes I will too so that will help keep me burning some cals.
I'll chat with you guys on the 24th. I hope everyone has a good week. |
Hi everyone
Hi everyone. I'm down 4 lbs this week. My original goal was to hit 160 by April of this year. That won't happen unfortunately but at least I'll be close. The set back I had in January and the added weight from that month that I had to lose again is what kept me behind. But at least I learned from that experience, and that's the most important thing I think. :)
Kempyd- Hope you have a nice trip:D Paula- I hope things are getting better:) Serina- Hope you're feeling better. It's supposed to be in the upper 50's here today! Maybe this is a sign that dreaded winter is over! Kina- Hope you're doing ok. Miss seeing you're cheery posts;) Well I hope everyone has a great weekend. Take care. Di |
CONGRATULATIONS DI !!!!
Wow 4 pounds that is great!!:bravo: :cb: :high: You are doing great. If you don't mind me asking what was your total loss? You have such great losses each week and it is so inspiring.
For me. I am down 2.5 pounds this week for a total of 6.5 pounds lost so far on this challenge. I can't believe that I am zooming through the 150's. I am actually looking forward to spring and summer now!! I am off to do some shopping today. Good Luck to everyone else to come today. Have a great weekend!!! |
Angie
Hi Angie- Thank you so much for the encouragement:grouphug: My start weight was 330 lbs. I started on April 1st of last year. I am now at 171. So I've lost 159 lbs so far. I had originally planned to stop at 160, but I still have fat on my belly, inner thighs, and upper arms that I need to lose and continue toning. I've been doing the Denise Austin Hit the Spot tapes at night. I like them, they're fast and you can really feel it. I've noticed differences in my abs. I've lost an inch and a half since I've started. Since my stomach is my worst area that's a big plus for me:lol: You know you are doing so great yourself. Watching you getting so close to your goal pushes me to keep doing the same. Thank you for all the kind words and encouragement you always offer, it means a lot. :) Hope you have a great time shopping today. Take care. Di

Going down, Baby!
Hey Everyone. :cp: Di and Angie great job on the losses! :cp:
Drum roll please............................................ ......................... I am weighing in @ 180 this morning, down 3 lbs this week--my first loss this challenge! :cb: I am so stoked!!! What can I say? I'm a slow learner :dizzy: -35 lbs gone so far. Now only a gazillion more to go  . Hopefully this flying high feeling can get me through the weekend BBQ. Come on everybody, we can all be losers together! Have a great weekend all. Aloha, Noelle |
Yahoo! You guys are doing so great! That's what is keeping me here even though I'm doing so poorly. I've maintained yet again this week, which seems nothing short of a miracle since TOM arrived yesterday. A maintain wouldn't be so bad, except I'm maintaining a weight that's 4 pounds up from the challenge before last :^:. Right now I'll be so glad just to get back into the 220s.
I'm going to do my WATP 2-mile walk before I get dressed (yes, I've been laying around in my PJs all morning!) That way I'll be getting in some walking even on the weekend. Everyone have a great weekend. Congrats on the losses. Jen519 238/230/140(I'll get there sooner or LATER) |
Hi everyone, sounds like we're all on an upswing! I totally got back on track this past week and weighed in at 257 on Thursday. I have been at my dad's in NH since then, so I don't know if I have gained or lost anything since then, but... I have been keeping track of my food intake and trying to stay on track for the most part. We did go to the movies this afternoon and I had a few handfuls of popcorn. Nothing too terrible though!
This puts me at 5 pounds lost so far for this challenge. I am pretty psyched. Now I am looking forward to the 240s! That will be AWESOME! Have a great rest of the weekend, everyone... I am a little homesick and looking forward to the drive home tomorrow! ~~Amy |
I've been MIA ?Weigh In!
Well I know I should be spanked for not being here as often as I should . Remember I had my house for sale plus we're getting a new house built? Well I just sold this house and we get to live here another 3 months until my new house is finished. My brother also had a house built where I'm gonna live at and he just did his closing and moved in lastnight! We helped him move and I swear I was more excited than he was about the whole thing! I'm in the middle of sewing curtains and swags for all the new windows I'll have.Too many things to do plus run the party rental business I have also! I just wanted to tell you ladies that I do pop in and read the posts but I dont have enough time to post! lol You guys are doing awesome , there's no doubt that you folks will make it!

Hello all! Sorry I'm late, sick baby yet again. I swear, my other two were never sick like this one. Sounds like everyone had a great week! I think it's because spring is finally coming and we're all feeling motivated! I know that is so for me. 73 today!!!! It was 23 a week ago. I'm reporting a 2 pound loss this week. I'm so psyched!! I've already reached my goal for this challenge.:) I haven't met my goal for the last three.:( I've been walking my little feet off. The last two days I've done my usual 4 on the treadmill in the morning and then later went to the park and did another 3-4. My feet are feeling it now so I'm going to skip the treadmill this morning. I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!! TTFN,

Monday Check In
Good Morning everybody!! I am hear for my Monday morning check in, sorry I am late every week, but I don't have access to a computer on Saturday since mine at home died so I depend on my computer here at work.
I can't believe it I am down 1 lb this week!!! What a surprise because TOM is here and I had a goof or two this past week, nothing to terrible but I did go over my goal of 1200 cals per day on a couple of days. My total loss for this challenge is 6 lbs, so two more to go! I think I can!! Thanks to each and everyone of you that has sent good wishes for my MIL, unfortunately I don't have any good news, she is still in ICU! She is the "same" according to the doctors. Congrats to everyone that has had a loss! Have a good day!! Paula |
Wooooo-Hoooooo Serina and Paula. Awesome job on the losses!
Serina, I've been walking my feet off too--trying to trim down other body parts as well  . Hope your baby gets better soon. Paula, my MIL was in the hospital for 2 weeks not too long ago. One of her bonehead drs. prescribed different meds which were NOT supposed to be taken at the same time, at all. It caused a major disruption in her stomach and made her lose 35 lbs in a month! Not the way I would want to lose weight OR my life. Hope they find out what's wrong w/your MIL so they can treat her accordingly and get her back home. Stay strong. Everyone else, 1 more week of this challenge. Let's make it a great one. |
Hello everyone. My computer was being repaired so I was without for a whole week! And we ended up buying a new computer anyway. It just wasnn't worth the $ to repair when we could get a much better computer for a good price. Plus we have DSL. Wheee! This is going to save me SO MUCH time.
Anyway, while my computer was down and out, so was I. I went through a mini depression last week. I just couldn't motivate myself to do anything. I'm feeling better now and hopefully this will be a good week! My mom broke her leg in Jan and she's been in a rehab/therapy clinic ever since. She developed a uninary tract infection and was readmitted to the hospital. (She had a stroke last year and is on medication to prevent seizures.) When she went back to the hospital her prescription was not transferred properly and she was only getting half her dose and had a seizure. Fortunatly she is fine and actually didn't even know it happened. But it could have been worse and it could happen to someone else who isn't so lucky. Scary, isn't it? |
Hello all. My computer was also down Friday and Saturday. I also was down because I saw a gain on the scale. Up 2.5 lbs! I felt like I was doing well. We did go out to eat, and each time I cut my portions in half. What I had didn't seem so fattening either. I don't understand. I refuse to give up, but I feel like I am getting nowhere. I'm going to have to sit down and rethink, replan, remotivate. Ug. Trying to hang in there!
Congrats to all you losers! I wish health for everyones families. Jen |
Ciao Ladies,
Wow, a lot of action these days on the forum. Good to see. Well if you all have been keeping up with the news, you know that things are a little hectic for us soldiers, thus my lack of posting. But i just wanted everyone ( who remembers me, HI ANGIE, GEN, CHOCI, JEN, LANEY, APPLE and all the newbies) that I'm okay but I will not be able to post as often as I would like. But here's a weight loss tip , stress can really melt pounds like you wouldn't belive!! :) Anyway, good luck and stay healthy and pray for our troops. As for this troop, I'll be sure and peek in whenever possible. |
Many prayers go out to you Dips...keep yourself safe. May the Angels bring you all back home to your loved ones safely.
Kisses & Hugs, Kina |
Dips, thanks for helping make this world a safer place. God bless you and all military personnel during this crazy time. May you all be back home safely real soon. We'll be thinking of you. Take care!
~Noelle~ |
Hi Dips! I hope you are doing okay. I want to thank you for all that you do for us. If it weren't for all of you guys standing up for us lord knows what kind of life we would all have. I will be praying for all of you to return home safe and sound. You Rock!
|
Dips....this is the second time I've read your message and the second time I've sat in front of the computer at a loss for words. I only hope you are home safe SOON. And thanks.
|
Hey Dips!!
I'm one of the "newbies" so I don't know you but want to thank you! And all of the military that make scarifices for this nation!! Thanks and God Bless you and ALL of our armed forces as we head for this war!
Paula |
Ciao Ladies,
Wow, I'm so moved reading your emails of support. Thank you Ladies. Me and my unit are very greatful for the support we're getting from back home. We feel the love all the way from here. Fortunately I will be able to peek in every once and again so make sure when I come we have good news and success stories to share. PAULA welcome to the forum and thank you for your support. Stay focused and continue to pray for us. But just to let everyone know WE ARE THE BEST AND STRONGEST MILITARY IN THE WORLD AND WE ARE READY!! So rest assured that you can still cheer us on from the gym :). Freedom is a beautiful thing. Enjoy it! |
To Dips and all our Troops out there
Dips , I just got on this morning and read your post . I don't even know what to say except thanks for what you folks do for this country. I know I personally am guilty for taking my freedom for granted on several occasions. I was born and raised in the U.S. so I dont know any other way of life. My best friend in the world is Cuban and through her I've been able to experience what no freedom feels like.Being told what to say, what time to be home, getting rediculous ration ports of food for the month, eating boiled cabbage and white rice for dinner night after night, being told what to say or do at all times, what music you can listen to,having to hide in a dark basement just to pray .... I could go on and on about what No freedom is . She was jailed in her teenage years for basically not agreeing with "the rules" that Castro made up. I cannot even imagine not being able to drive,to speak my mind,to be submissive all the time.....
I'm not the only one that thinks that you people in the military DON'T get paid enough for what you do!!!!! Risking your lives is worth more than $15-$30K a year. I know that so many of you don't do it for the money and that is something to be admired. Dips , you are in our prayers along with all the troops out there. We pray for all the soldiers safe return home. Gen |
Dips,
I am more affected by the war now that it is in motion than I ever thought I would be. I don't exactly agree with the politics, but I do appreciate your efforts and wish you and your fellow troops only the best, Godspeed. I love your go get 'em attitude! Best regards, Amy |

Thanks for the reassurance Dips. I feel like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. God Bless and Godspeed to all in the military who are truly serving us now. FREEDOM is a beautiful thing. ~~Noelle~~ |
