It's so weird this question just came up as I literally just saw a segment a day or two ago on teh Today Show - I think they asked a sampling of people if they would be willing to turn off their cell phone/BB/iPhone for ONE day to lose 10 lbs and 65% percent said NO...

I would turn it off for a week to lose 10 lbs!!!

This doesn't surprise me. There was a survey that said if people had to give up sex or facebook that the majority would choose sex.

I don't know about you guys but I don't think facebook "does it" for me.

^ LOL.

I've noticed that as I lose weight, that weight loss itself becomes motivation to not fall off the wagon. I think if I became thin "all of a sudden," I would want to take care of myself and my horrible ways.

But the weight loss is just so unbearably slow. I think I'd give up a lot to be skinny, but just material possessions like my fat person clothes or whatever. I'd shave my head to love 30 lb! No doubt.

I wouldn't give up my boyfriend though!!! He is the best *lovestruck*

How long would I have to give up sex, and how much would I lose?

I did make a deal, and this is what I gave up:

- eating indiscriminately chocolates, candy bars, cakes, and cookies
- oversized restaurant portions
- my free time to lay around the house and count the cracks on the ceiling
- my old clothes in sizes too big for me
- my favorite shoes because they no longer fit because they were too big
- time with my friends/family/boyfriend because I had to put cooking or exercise ahead of them
- convenience, because honestly, it's really hard to stay healthy and I do lot from scratch
- gave up soda
- gave up take out
- gave up chinese
- gave up sandwiches

And in exchange for ALL of that... I've lost almost 40 lbs.

I'll take it.

I would give up tens of thousands of dollars or years of my life if I could give myself a one time full body makeover. The catch for me is that I wouldn't just want the weight loss. For a full on deal with the devil (if I believed in such a being) I'd want to be able to redo the total package to create a new me-based being. For example, "perfect me" is 5'7" tall, weighs ~125lbs, wears a 2/4, has a proportional hourglass figure, great skin tone, no stretch marks, etc. In other words, "perfect me" could never exist in reality. Being able to do the impossible(grow over 3 inches, reshape my skeleton, etc.) would be worth a lot to me.

What I am giving up in hopes of creating a better me:
Being able to eat and drink what I want- This is probably the biggest one for me.
My daily glasses (yes, I was usually drinking 2 or more) of wine
Eating out more than a couple times a month
Blissful ignorance of dieting and exercise
Hours spent at the gym and contemplating my size/weight and ways to reduce same
The pride that comes with not confirming to society's standard of attractiveness.
Likely some volume from my (large) chest (which I was a peace with as it was)
Money spent on the aforementioned gym membership.
