Thank you so much for such an outpouring of support and good ideas and commiseration! I think you are probably right, kirsteng- 14000 calorie deficit in one week would have been crazy, and there probably was some water loss hiding in those first-week numbers!
I weighed myself this morning, and I am down to 214.6 from 216 yesterday. I think I may take a page from you daily weighers and try that for a while, just so there's not all this expectation saved up for one day. I think it was too much pressure that I was going to be pleasantly surprised by the loss of a whole week. I'm going to try the daily weighing thing for a while and see if that helps me see the big picture better.
