Default is everyone staring?

So lately ive been attending more family parties and i feel like everyone just stares at my body. Most of my family are tall and super model skinny they can eat and eat non stop and they stay the same. i eat and feel like i put on 10 lbs. why cant i just be like them??????

So about a week ago i attended a family gathering and my aunt goes on by saying i heard ur working out i said yes why she said dont you think its time to try harder like wow really first off i just had twins 3 months ago somtimes its not easy to just go work out babies have need and she says oh stop it with the excuses and get ur *** on the treadmill i didnt want to argue anymore so i picked up my stuff and left i havent talked to anyone since then. was i wrong in leaving?? Am i wrong in not wanting to talk to any of my family until im ready????

I sure wouldn't want to talk to her. That was beyond rude and ignorant.

First, it's none of her business, and second, it is hard after you've just had a baby (or, in your case, babies). Her comments were rude and out of line, and I don't blame you for leaving.

Congrats on your weight loss so far!!

My mom told me yesterday that she might be acting like that toward me because she lost her baby when she was 6 months pregnant but i dont see how that would have anything to do with me ??

Yep, I would have walked away also, depending on the relationship with the aunt not sure if it would have been before or after I went off on her.

I've distanced myself from my entire family. Some relatives just aren't worth the time or effort to deal with. And she seems like one of them.

If you do have to deal with her in the future, think up some sarcastic come backs to throw back at her. Something about how rude she is, how nosey she is, how it's none of her business what you weigh or do with your life.

I think you did the right thing by just walking away instead of getting into it with her! She had no right to say something so rude to you, especially that you've already lost over 20 POUNDS and you have TWIN infants to take care of!!

the fact that she lost a baby, well that is sad and tragic but has nothing at all to do with you.

You keep on doing whatever you are doing, and I hope no one gets in your way! If you want to avoid family get-togethers, I think that is fine.

WOW... that was really rude. I would have left too.

I remember when I saw my family for the first time in a long time it was right after having my daughter... I can't tell you how many of my family members told me I needed to lose weight. People are f*****g stupid.

i can't believe they said that to you. seriously, that's ridiculous -- you're clearly working on it, and you've clearly made progress. wow, that was none of her business. you were right in walking out; i wouldn't say anything to them until they've apologized.
