Default Rough Day w/PMS

This is the first day I've struggled since I started eating well. Every other day, I've been full and haven't had any problems sticking to my plan. Today, I'm ready to eat someone. I've still been good about what I am eating -- I just made a really quick oil-free broccoli and red pepper stir fry for lunch -- but I feel like I could kill someone and eat them whole. Not to mention I am crabby as heck.

Plus, I'm starting to swell and I know it's just a temporary thing, but I am dreading getting on the scale tomorrow and not seeing any results.

I know the feeling! It's TOM for me too, and I've been resisting the urge to consume my bodyweight in chocolate all day

If I know I have a weigh-in coming up during TOM, I try to drink a mug of hot water with lemon squeezed into it before bed. The lemon acts as a diuretic, so that helps with the water retention/swelling a bit. If you really don't think you're going to see any results until afterward, how about just taking a break from the scale for a few days?

Good idea. I can't wait until menopause (even though I know that has its own set of problems). I get PMS for like five whole days, so after my TOM is over, it's like I only have half a good month every month!

Sorry your having a rough day. I feel your pain when it comes to crappiness and feeling starving during PMS. I totally get that too. Hang in there hun, its only temporary and will soon pass.

I get like that around period time as well. I spent all of last week being endlessly hungry and craving fatty foods. Boo!

But I can't resist pointing this out: adding a little fat to your stir fry would actually be a really good thing. Not only does fat help you to feel fuller, it also helps your body to absorb the nutrients in your veggies. Really.
