Shrinkin' Violets @----<-------
Thought since we're all doing so well, why not be that... Shrinkin' Violets, in a good light. Also makes me pine for Spring. Remember, we're still on for the January challenge, 10 pounds by month's end! We can do it.. stay with me!!;)
|
I FOUND YA!!
How is everyone today? Me good. I just did 30 minutes on the elliptical and I will do another 30 minutes tonight. I like to break it up so when I get bored in the afternoon I will exercise instead of eat. Works pretty good.:p
My Durango is fixed. YES!!! I have had to ride in the delivery car for the last week. YUCK!!! It smells like donuts. I really hate the smell of donuts. If you had to smell donuts frying all day you wouldn't want them either. Now Brownies and whoopie pies and chocolat chip cake on the other hand.......Those give me trouble. |
Aroma of donuts and whoopie pies? That's my idea of fun. I guess everyone's idea of paradise is a little different, huh?
What's a whoopie pie? I've never heard of it...had to go searchin' on google to find out. Sounds yummy--do tell! |
I don't know what a whoopie pie is either. Is it like a moon pie? I hate donuts too. I think I got burned out on them when I was little. My dad would get them every SUnday and i would eat them until I was sick. Now why couldn't he have done that with chocolate?
Noelle I wanted to tell you that you are a great motivator and I don't think you have anything to worry about. If you just take it one day at a time you will acheive what you set your mind to. As for the other question in the lsat thread I get frisky the week before too. I think thatis kind of weird b/c you ovulate the week after so that is when you are supposed to be frisky. I read something that said that when you ovulate you waist gets smaller. This makes you more attractive to the opposite sex. That is a werid little mother nature tid bit for you. Don't you feel more knowledgable? lol |
It is like chocolate cake/chocolate cookie that is dropped on the pan like a cookie. Mine are huge by the way. and you take 2 of the cookies and put cream filling in between them and sandwich them together. They are really good.
|
I guess it is my fault that I asked. That sounds awesome!!!!
|
Strange about that waist thing. I'd be willing to ovulate round the clock if it guaranteed me a 22 inch waist. Maybe not.
I agree Noelle is very good at cheering us on. Funny how we're talking about sex, and wondering what a woopie pie is... strange conversations. But funny! |
Hye these are our thread, we can talk about what ever we want to right? As long as it doesn't offend anyone here. I dont have to say Angie warned us that it was a weird question. lol
|
Oh, by the way, I lost a total of 5 lbs. GOOO MEEEE!!!
|
GOOOOO KEMPY!!! I think we all are doing really well this month.
I do wish Jenn would come back though. |
I miss Jen too. Kempy you rock!! Keep it up girl. 5 pounds!!!!! You are doing so well...
|
I really havn't been working out but I have been recording what I eat at fitday and I think that may be what is helping me. I am all about numbers and I don't want to see them go higher than they should.
Thank you guys for the congrats. I know I miss her too. I wish I had her e-mail. Maybe we could get her back that way. |
Wow Kempy, you go girl!
Angie, pass me that whoopie pie will ya? Anyway can you figure out how to make it guilt-free like that pumpkin parfait? Speaking of smaller waists, I know that mine got smaller because my elbows don't touch my sides anymore--do you know what I mean? I've been heavy since I was a kid so I pretty much didn't have that womanly curve thang going on. I was built solid like a block. My stomach poking out is another story--but that's what control-top panties are for  |
I have noticed the same thing Noelle. I knew I was getting big when I started hitting my hips on the tables in the bakery when I was walking around them and my elbows hit too.
I would take a pic of a whoopie to show you but I don't want to tempt ya. Jay said to send you guys one until he figured out that I was talking about the girls on 3FC. Then he said it would be mean. It probably wouldn't be too bad without the frosting. LOL |
But would it aste as good without the frosting?
Joe just came and picked up my truck. He, his friend and the dog are heading to north Louisiana to go hunting again. |
No, I doubt it. Frosting is the best part. LOL If only they would sell OLEAN like regular grease...just think of the things we could eat.
|
I don't think we would enjoy them as much b/c we would be in the can all of the time. I have never eaten a large quantity of it so I don't know how it would affect me if I used it on a daily basis.
|
It doesn't do that to me. Believe me I eat WOW chips everyday. It is my number 1 snack and I have never had any cramps or bathroom troubles because of it. Maybe I am a lucky one but it doesn't do it to Jay either.
|
I think it would be great to have that stuff to fry things in. I would start eating fried chicken and eggrolls again. Man do I miss those things.
|
Egg rolls and seafood. YUM I remember when I was little I used to even back then wish for a calorie free snack. That is sad to me because I wasn't terribly overweight as a kid but my mom was always on weight watchers so I knew all about calories.
|
I never did worry about the cals when I was young. Maybe I should have b/c I blame my mom for all of the cellulite I have. lol Like she forced that junk food down my throat.
|
Hey gals, tomorrow's Friday which is 1 week completed on the January Challenge~Post Holiday Hangover. Are we weighing in weekly every Friday or just at the end of the month? I'll know the answer if I wake up and check the threads tomorrow morning. (I wouldn't be so eager to weigh-in if I didn't already know I lost something (heehee) .
|
Kempy, it must be really hard being away from hubby all the time. How come he's out of state a lot? Fishing, hunting, work... seems like if he weren't working, he'd wanna snuggle in with you.. makes me feel bad for ya. I know you go sometimes, but seems like he's gone more than home.
|
Kempy: hope yu're not upset by my comment. I didn't mean to hurt you. Problem of mine, open mouth, insert foot. I'm sincerely sorry if I hurt your feelings.
Ugh, my downfall. Well, since i'm also on a walking thread, and I typed my heart out, i just copied my reply there, and pasted it here. Thougth you girls would understand the message here too. Can't believe the weather yesterday, unseasonably warm. Had to break out my bike, even got hubby onto his!! That was awesome! We biked, maybe 2 miles, it ws like 58 degrees out here, and the sun ws out... madem e pine for Spring. Of corse, we're back in the 30's today. But we were able to feel that wind in the face, then I took doggie out, and walked the same route. Doing it during the day is so great, cause the rest of hte day I can feel good that I got it done. I like it, overall, but sometimes I feel so tired midday... taht blood sugar thing probably I hear about. But felt realyl exhilirating... and time with hubby is golden to me. Quit the cleansing day, by lunch I was dying for peanut butter. Had dfrosted cabbage soup from last week. Made a vat of the stuff. Isn't the same consistency, kinda stringy.. zuchinni looks different.. turned me off. So, I"m not gonna do that anymore. Makes me dream of protein and milk all day. I'm better moderating, and not restricting. It worked for a day, now i'm over it. |
Don't worry Chris you didn't hurt my feelings. He feels really bad being gone so much. This is his last weekend to go hunting and he is really glad about that. He has to go out of town for work alot but I can't complain about that b/c it is his job and they pay him really good money. He did hire someone so he won't have to go out of town as much. He can send the other guy instead. When he is home we spend every waking moment together so it really isn't that bad when he leaves. I know he is coming home and it will be wonderful we he is home. It really makes me appreciate him so much more.
I didn't know how you were doing that diet anyway. I would have died on the cleansing day. I started recording what I am eating and that seems to keep me on track. When does this challenge end anyway. I am on another one in addition to this one and I keep etting the dates mixed up. |
Me too. I weigh in on Saturdays on Gennels so I figured I would keep my weigh in s the same for this one too. That way I don't have to keep track of 2 notebooks. LOL Unofficially I lost another half a pound. Since my period started I have had a snack every night and I didn't want to do that last night so after the kids went to bed me and Jay stayed in our bedroom and watched tv so I wouldn't grab something to eat.I guess it worked because the scales moved again. So I will weigh in for REAL tomorrow, okay?
I am with Kempy, I couldn't understand how you could stand the Cabbage soup thing. I would go crazy. Have a great Day everyone! |
I just checked Kempy and our other challenge ends on the 25th of January.
|
I have this big wall calander in my office with all of these challenges on it. I bet the people here think I am crazy. Onely one person here knows that I get on this site. If I told anyone else my cover would be blown. They would know that I am in my office typing on this site and not working all of the time. So, I figure what they don't know won't hurt them. hehehe
|
Good morning all. Cabbage soup? I tried that diet once. Dropped 7 lbs in 2 days and on the third day it rose again...hahahaha. What I mean is, I tried to eat it for lunch on the 3rd consecutive day and got nauseous (literally) and started throwing up. It doesn't taste bad actually but after the same thing over and over...well, it's only a matter of time before you eat less and less of it :) . It does make you "go" though so that was the point of it, right Chris? Cleansing?
Anyway, just checking in. I'll weigh-in tomorrow and post it here. Hoping to break into the 180's by month's end. Go, go, go! |
HI. Glad you weren't hurt by my hubby away comment.
I'd say the challenge outta make sense for everyone, so if the 25th is convenient, what the heck. That' smy anniversary, 4 yrs with hubby. We're goig out for dinner, but i"ll weigh in for the final count. Not sure if I can do this 10 lb thing, seem to be staying around 158. But i'm gonna keep on diong this. Feeling pmsy. I'm so happy to be outta the cabbage soup tihng. It was ****. Did it last week,a nd was miserable all day long. Anything that makes you feel miserable, cant be good for you. I did poop up a storm, and pee, but then the next day i was famished, probably put back on the water weight I'd shed the day before. Oh well, trying new tihngs is a good tihng, sometimes ends not so good, but i'm open. Can't handle setting goal dates though. I figure, if I havne't gained any weight by the end of the month, that's still a goal met. Cause under all these goals we keep setting, to keep it off has to be the major one. So, i'm not sure if i'll lose, but i'm hopeing not to gain. Goals Goals Goals. |
Hey, I found ya'll. I like the name Shrinking Violets, it's fitting. what strange conversations I've been reading. I can't comment on getting 'frisky' as my TOM is purely hormonal, no physical. ... ??? But, OMG you have got me craving something bad, fried foods and chocolate and potato chips, OH MY!
So, as far as being on a plateau, I think I can deal.... weighed and MEASURED today.... drum roll please. 179# and 3.5 inches overall lost!!!!!!!!!! 1.25" off of both my waist and upper hips. And .25" from my arms and thighs, both of which I had given up hope of ever changing. YAY!!!!! I think I will be smiling all day. Speaking of today, I need to get to the gym. I'm not going to bother with the step class, but I still need to go do cardio and make up on the lower body weights that I skipped yesterday. I'll check in again tonight. hugs to all -W- |
Good job Washu! Who does the measuring for you? I hat having mine taken I usually just rely on my clothes to tell if I have lost anything.
I guess you are just now finding out how strange we are here. lol I love the fact that we are all a little strange in our own ways I think that is what makes us such good freinds. Chris, wow, you are down to 158? I remember when we started talking to each other you were around 170. That was in October so girl you have been doing great. Of course I think all of us here have been doing great. I think it is great that we keep on keepn' on. That shows that we really want ot make a change in our lives. |
I remember weighing-in @ 158 when I was 14 years old (5'2" tall)--3rd period gym class physicals. I THOUGHT I was soooo fat. If I only knew what would become of me! Here I am 17 years later--1 inch taller, 12 inches wider (just guessing) and struggling at keeping it under 200 lbs. Bleah!
|
Hey, You guys have been busy today!! LOL I am a shorty too. 5'2".
Congrats Miss Washu!!! You are doing awesome. WE are SHRINKING VIOLETS!!!YEAH!!!! Kempy, I have a notebook with my weights and dates in it. It seems to help but I only write the weight down once a week. Even though I have "Unofficial Weigh Ins" haha Noelle, Did you ever convince your son that the motorcycle wasn't his? I thought that was so cute. I remember spelling out gifts to people until they could figure it out. I am so glad it is Friday. I have to go to Bangor tomorrow and buy some order books and Brittany is getting a new clarinet. Can anyone say headache? LOL |
Hey Angie, I finally saw where Bangor is. I was watching the weather channel and tere were in the north east and there it was. Boy, you really are up there. I wonder how long of a drive it would be for me? I think they have a web site that you can figure that kind of stuff out on. You can enter your address and the address of the place that you are going and it gives you exact directions with the amount of time it would take. Of course, we would have to take some of the time off b/c Joe drives like a mad man. lol
The weirdest feeling just came over me. I want to have a roast beef po'boy for dinner. I sure do hope that this passes. I know for a fact that they are not healthy for me. |
That sounds good. What is it? I am making taco salad tonight with WOW Doritos. You would think I sell them wouldn't ya? LOL
|
OMG Kempy, stop it! You're making me drool all over my keyboard. I had a roast beef po'boy from Mother's. I still remember it even though it was 4 1/2 years ago. I have this habit of searching on "Google" everytime I hear of something new--like that Whoppie pie for instance. I typed in "whoopie pie recipe" and poof--there's a listing of websites with all recipes. I just did the same for the po'boy and and salivary glands are working overtime. Angie, from what I remember its a sandwich made with italian bread and the filling inside is fall apart tender--like "pulled or shredded" meat: roast :flame: beef :moo: , chicken, even oysters, with mushrooms, garlic, onions, seasoned with that cajun stuff....gravy oozing...3 Brawny paper towel kind of sandwich.
Oh yeah, you should buy stock in WOW products. I've never tried them myself (too scared to see if there are any ill effects) but it's great that you can eat them without guilt. :) |
Do you mean a roast beef po'boy? It is roast beef dripping in gravy with mayo (I usually don't eat that) lettuce and tomato. It is served hot on french bread. It is so awesome. It is so juicey that it runs down your amrs when you eat it. Man, I need to stop talking about it. I think I just heard me stomach growl.
|
Damn, You guys are killing me. I used to buy sliced steak and fry it up and put it on sub bread with mayo, fried onions, cheese(LOTS),mushrooms. Greasy but oh so good.
Have you guys noticed that we have talked about food ALOT this week. Ha Ha I guess as long as we aren't eating it it is okay. Jay had to have a brownie today after I baked them, then I cut the chocolate chip cake too big and had to cut a piece off so I was going to throw it away so I didn't eat it...NO, He had to have it. I wanted it so bad. |
Hey, food, we talk about what we know (haha). Let HIM eat cake. Guys don't care too much about putting on a couple of pounds anyway.
