Noelle, I felt the same way at 130. That is probably why I only stayed there for a month and started climbing again/ LOL I was exercising 1 1/2 hours everyday and if I ate anything with fat I would bloat up and my clothes wouldn't fit for a week. This time I am going to have to work with it because I looked good there.
Kempy, post a new pic whenever you are ready. I don't want to push you or anything. Do it when you are comfortable. Chris, I sure hope Chris is feeling better soon.Subbing and being sick must suck. We did miss ya. MissWashu, I hope you are okay. If you want to talk or anything we are all here for you. |
Speakin gof beinga sub at a H.S. those kids pick on him so much. I got so upset yesterday when he toldm e they cuss at him, F this and F that... he can't possible send the whole class to the office. It can't be about the sub aevery single day, cause he works 2 x per week there, soit's not like he's new. he's coming home so stressed out. reminds me of a kid who gets bullied all his lif,e ane ends up not talking to anyone... he never watns to talk abouth is day, cause he's alwayts so thrilled to "be outta that place". i feel so bad for him.
|
I gotta run to work, all day meeting... who plans these things? :)
|
It is my 100th day!!!!
It is kinda like my birthday. LOL I have stuck it out for 100 days and I have 39 pounds gone to show for it. YEAH!!!! I figured I would weigh in this morning since it is the 100 day mark just to see what I did in that amount of time. I weighed in at 167.5. Hopefully the next 37 pounds come off just as quick but I remember last time for the last few months I would only lose 4-5 pounds a month so I am prepared for that. I just want to wear my jeans again.:dizzy:
|
Came home sick. Feel lowsy, i hitnk huby gave me whatever he's been struggling wiht the past couple weeks. Ick.
Angie, I am so proud of you! 100 days,a nd almost 40 pounds down. You're doing excellent,a nd your hard work, and ways to lose weight and stay focused is so inspiring for us. Keep going, cause we're so proud! You'll bein the cutest pair of jeans you can find... |
AAWW Chris I hate to hear that you are sick. Joe and I pass stuff all of the time. I hope you feel better soon. (both of you)
Washu don't be a lurer stop in for a longer chat. Angie you are awesome. You are doing everything right this time too. I am rooting for yah. I know you will be exstatic when you get into those jeans. I did a bad thing today. I got on the scale. I told myself I wasn't going to until next week but I couldn't help it. WOOHOO it went down a whole pound. I only have .5 lbs to go to make my goal for January. I wasn't going to do the 10 lbs thing. I didn't want to freak out over it. Now, if I do lose 10 it will be a welcome surprise. |
Ahhh the highs and lows of life.
((((Chris)))) get some rest and take good care of yourself. I'm sending you some calorie-free "virtual :chicken: chicken soup" and some TLC from me. Maybe you can just laze around and peruse through your scrapbooking kit again, it's bound to make you feel better. Angie :high: I can't tell you enough how much your success and dedication inspire me to keep going. Whenever I get the munchies I keep telling myself that I need to keep up with Angie (joke). I never really thought about how long I've been dieting in terms of days...let's see...from 10/24...that would be 83 days today for me. It's this site and you girls that keep me honest. Hopefully by my 100th day I will be at least 28 lbs down. I've got 23 down so far so to lose 5 more in 17 days is being realistic. A little tough but if I put my mind to it I can do it. There is a positive side to being heavy. When you try to lose it it comes off easier and faster when you're bigger. Go Kempy, go Kempy...you'll get that goal this month. I can feel the good vibes :goodvibes for all of us. Washu, what's up lady? Just busy I hope. If you need some kind of pick me up we can help. But if you're busy out there exercising or something than that's ok too :) . We're having some Seattle weather here today :rain: ~~gray, windy, rainy. It's supposed to get cooler as a cold front moves past our islands. Ugh, 60 degrees, I can't wait (haha). check ya gals later :spin: |
Gosh it is storming outside right now. I can hear the rain pounding on the warehouse roof and the wind whooshing around. It's quite a cacophony out there. It's weird though, rains really hard for 2 minutes then silence, then comes pouring down again for another 5 minutes, then silence...here it comes again. My office is brightly lit but sits inside a warehouse. I have to go into the warehouse and flip the lights on since it's like it's pitch black night. It's eerie and I'm all alone... maybe that's why I spend so much time here (haha). Anyway, this rain is so unusual for us that I just had to write about it. (sorry!)
|
I hate when I am at work and it rains tlike that. I love to be at home during those storms. Unless of course it is a hurricane. I don't like thsoe anywhere. I hate to watch the trees in my yard bend sideways. SCARY!!
|
Wow Kempy, once you start theres no stopping you!!! And its right when you usually bloat right? That is great!!! I have been sneaking onto the scales more and more lately, I don't know why really, Just excited to lose I guess. LOL
Chris, I hope you both are feeling better soon Noelle, I love the rain but mostly when I am in bed at night. I have a skylight in my bathroom and my bed is right by the bathroom door. It is so soothing.Although I am not looking forward to the rain this spring. It is Candi's first and she has SO much hair that she will be a mess. |
I guess there is no bloating here! You will not hear me complaining about that. I am so happy about it. I feel so good today. I noticed that I have a little bounce in my step today. Maybe I should bring this energy home today. hehehe
|
You should have a bounce in your step!! You are doing great and you totally deserve to feel great! Go home and maul Joe with your excess energy and consider it a workout. haha
|
Turns out my flui s raelly my period. They feel the same way. I'm all doped up on cold meds,a nd it's cramps. Weird. I'm skipping aerobics. No sense in killing myself to get the energy to workout. Ican't handle intense exercise when i'm miserable with cramps. I love seeing the scale change though, so hopefully after my period, i'll get my energy back.
|
That is weird Chris. I have never heard of having flu symptoms due to cramps. At least you are getting better.
|
Hey gals, I'm feeling fine. Just busy, busy , busy. Yet not getting much done. I hate being in the situation that is affected by other people. I was sposed to make a buch of $$$$ this past weekend, doing tattoo work... But one guy wrecked his car a can't afford any work for awhile, and the other guy (BIL) is trying to fix his own truck so that he can get up here to the city.... so no $$$ for me. Of course I had already spent what I was counting on making (or at least planned how to spend) , but for now I drive on expired car tabs and get a late fee on the CC.
So I am working other ways to find cash. Making my wallets and stuff. Going to go try to sell them this afternoon. I think I broke my finger this morning. I was bending eyeletes on a choker and totally missed and hit the very tip of my pinky finger. I know that because it is the very tip, and I can still bend all the joints, there is nothing a doctor could do .... but it hurts sooooooo BAD!!! It's already blue from the base of the nail, around the pad and to the tip. Gonna make my nail look great for awhile:rolleyes: So anyway, I am going to eat some lunch and go to the gym. No weights today, OUCH , but I can ride a bike and do some eliptical... Maybe I will try some weights, just keep my pinky out like a princess  WI on Friday, I'm not losing like you girls, but I've sneaked a peek and know that I've broken my plateau. Yay! :grouphug: -W- |
Miss Washu, I am glad to hear you have been busy and not going through the funk so many are right now. Ouch on the finger. Jay sat on my thumb once and sprained it. That hurt so bad. Do you think you are going to lose your nail? You must be so happy that you broke your plateau. Yeah!!!
Geesh Chris, your periods must suck. I just get frisky when I get mine. LOL Hope you feel better. |
Hey Washu, no wonder you don't feel like typing...OUCH! I feel for ya girlfriend. Tattoo work? Does that mean you do the tatts? How cool! (I bet Angie's getting all squeamish thinking about needles (heehee) ) What kinds of wallets do you make? I knew you sounded like a crafty person. Hooray on getting off that plateau. You go girl! Don't worry about losing like "us"--as long as you're going at your own pace, you'll get to that destination.
Chris, you're alive! Yeah, too bad Nyquil doesn't have the same properties as Midol then you'd be in top form. :) Ya know, my biological clock's been ticking rather loudly the past year or so...tickticktickticktick...(aren't I the oldest on this thread?) Well, the grayest anyway. Tigger, err, i mean Kempy, still bouncin' on that high? I hope so. I like Angie's idea of 'home exercise' for burning calories--that's got to be one of the best work-outs. Ever figure out the numbers on Fitday? I've looked up the choices (i.e. time spent) for that "activity" but never had the presence of mind to actually TIME myself while doing it. |
Tigger..haha that was funny.
Yes I did get queasy thinking about the needles. YUCK!!!! Remember I can pass out at the sound of the ear piercing gun clicking when my kid is getting it done. How pathetic am I? haha Probably the calories burned depend on how "athletic" you are during the "activity" LOL My gosh we need to get our minds off sex and food. Or just go get some!!! |
You guys are so funny! I don't want to know the time length. That would look funny on my part....what are you looking at? I am trying to see how long this takes so I can record it in fitday. I am sure that would please him. lol
I think the day I start to do that is the day that I have officially become obssesed. I had a great dinner and still stayed a little below 1500 cals for the day. Joe said that he was proud of me when i told him how much I have lost. I just hope it will keep coming off of me. |
Yes, I actually do tattoos. Sorry Angie, I won't give any details now that I know your sensitivity. One of the BF's younger brother's friends is deathly afraid of ... those sharp things... but he still wants a tat. How funny will that be?....hmmm, maybe not so funny.
I make jewelry, wallets, and even a purse out of Duct-Tape. Sometimes I use denim for cosmetic value, but everything structural is tape. Oh!, I have made a mini-skirt too. sized it to fit myself, over a pair of jeans. Kinda strange, I don't know if I'll ever wear it.... I have plans for a corset soon too. A few shops in town buy these things from me and sell them to the public. They have sold pretty well so far. Oh geez, I am past due for the B.C. 'til my Dr. appointment on Friday. Haven't really mauled BF since Nov. Wonder how many calories I can burn in a full day........ I asked my other thread this, so I'll ask you too: Does anybody have a low-fat or low-suger recipe for cookies? I want to make the guys a treat that I can enjoy too. ohhhhh too much typing. -W- |
Congrats Kempy!!!!!
I've totally blown 1500 today. O-well, I guess it's been my 'off' day for the week. :) |
Angie girl you better stay warm. I saw on the news that is was
-12 at 8 this morning. (I think that was the right temp) |
I haven't gone outside yet. I figured it must be pretty cold when Candi won't even go out. haha
Jay said it was -13 this morning at 3 when he was delivering. BBBRRRR. I just about froze last night. I was getting ready to exercise and was in my shorts and forgot I had to go out to the bakery and cut up a pumpkin roll so I just ran out in my shorts. That was a wake up. |
-12?!! -13?!! BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! That's eskimo weather! Sounds like a day to build up a roaring fire and just sit around and snuggle. Of course, anything below 60 is cold to me :) That reminds me, one thing I didn't like about being skinny (which was only for a brief period of time) was that I was cold all the time...lost all my fat insulation (haha). Have a great day girls, I'll check back later.
|
We are going to be cold here tonight too. It is supposed to be 23. That is very cold for us. I think I might actually have to pull some of my plants in. I know for a fact that we are going to have to run some water. That would be a mess it we broke a pipe.
Joe wants to go out to dinner tonight but I am trying to think of where we can go that I can get something healthy. He said maybe sushi but I don't eat seafood so I end up getting the cucumber rolls. Not really my idea of a dinner. I know we wont go to the mexican place b/c I know that there is no way in ##ll I can eat good there. |
Appleby's is supposed to have lower fat food and Olive garden. I have been checking out websights to see which restaurants I can eat at.
|
Hmmm, if Rick wanted to eat out I'd be at a sushi restaurant for sure. I can eat it everyday and for a while there I actually was. Fresh raw fish is a big thing in Hawaii since it's so plentiful. We also cut it up into bite-sized chunks, mix it w/a little sesame oil or soy sauce with round onion, sesame seeds, chili pepper and fresh seaweed--it's called poke (pronounced poh-keh) .
We don't have an Applebee's or an Olive Garden here :( or on any island for that matter. A few years back there may have been one on Maui, but I don't think it's there anymore (if there ever was one). Hey you can do Mexican if you stick with fajitas and leave out the sour cream and cheese and stuff and skip the chips and salsa...but then again, what's Mexican food without all that good stuff? Sorry, I'm not being helpful am i? Here we go again, dwelling on food. Well, it's a necessity of life right? And it's better to think about it than not and eat a lot of cr@p. |
Joe doesn't like Applebees and we don't have a Olive Garden. The only bad thing about sushi is I don't eat fish. I know, thatis what sushi is all about but I do like the veggie rolls. I checked them out on fitday and I can have 6 medium sized ones for under 200 cals. Plus I plan on getting the soup and the soy beans. I love those things.
|
I have never had sushi. Is it really good? or can you tell it is raw fish?
Is Applebees any good? I have never been there either.Damn!! I don't get out much do I? haha |
I think it is ok. I used to work at the one in Baton Rouge.
I think you can taste the rawness. But then again I hate fish. I know that seems kind of weird me being from Louisiana and all. Now put a boiled crawfish in front of me and I will tear it up. |
Oh I love those fresh soy bean w/ sea-salt.... not much of a fan of true sushi, but I like the california rolls (crab) and smoked salmon rolls. Salmon is a big thing here in the NW. Applebee's is good, but their portion sizes are huge!!!! I'd order 1/2 an entree salad, or a appetizer and still get full. Or take 1/2 home for later. The food IS really good.
|
The kids love going out to eat so maybe I will try Applebees sometime.I checked once on Calorieking and they had a restaurant guide for a bunch of them and Applebees had a few lowfat choices. I don't go to Olive Garden because I can make an awesome spaghetti sauce at home and I eat lobster/spaghetti every Saturday and Sunday anyway. That is my most favorite meal.
|
I think Chris is going to freak when she checks the site today. We have been blazing through the pages here. I love it though. This waY I can chat with you guys and the boss doesn't know. If we went to the actual chat he would here all of the entries as they came in. HEHE I am a sneaky little devil.
|
I have never eaten those soy beans (edamame -- eh-da-maw-meh) ever. Those are real popular here too. Rick loves those even more than boiled peanuts (another thing I don't touch). I don't think they're gross or anything, just never wanted to try them. Don't know if you know this, but people in Hawaii call snack foods like soy beans, chips, peanuts, poke etc. "pupu"--just like it's spelled. Isn't that kinda funny/gross?
|
HI! I'm here. Had another long day. It's freezing here,a nd snowingf buckets. Not supposed to be too much, but so pretty when it's coming down. They cancel school for everything hrere, so people are at the stores for toilet paper and such. Silly.
Ate okay, and even got a before dinner walk, in daylight. Been going to aerobics, burning burning burning. It's fast paced, but I feel so good keeping up. Not as bouncy as before either. Meaning, i don't get embarrassed by my body anymore. I'm jumping all over the place, and just enjoying the beat wiht the other ladies. I love it. We're off for Mon and then next monday, so i'll do Pilates DVD, hopefully. It'll be snowy outside for a few days, so i'll try to get to the pilates... i'm wanting to see it. I love your conversations abot sex. YOu girls are crazy! I think cookies can be made less fattening by substituting egg whites instead of whole eggs... honey instead of white sugar,a nd dark chocolate instead of milk chocolate. also, using skim milk, and stuff, that helps too. I once made honey and carrot cookies, they wer great. I forget where I got the recipe. I also like to make chocolate chip bran muffins. Yum! I eat a lot of microwave popcorn at night, lite of course, and I eat cocoa krispies every night too. I love that stuff! Cereals good for you. and milk is a natural fat burner... rea dit somewhere, drink lots of milk! Just enjoying the snow come down. Crampy and stuff. Thoguth i felt like crap cause of a flu, but the headache and nausea,a nd stuff was my period. So, now i'm all midol'ed up. Better living through chemistry. |
Chris I am all about the meds! I don't like to live in pain. I don't think God wanted it that way.
I really wish I could be around some of that snow right now. It is ccooolllldd here right now. We are going to have a temp of 21 tongiht. I saw that you guys are going to be really cold too. Noelle on the other hand. You are going to see 80 today right? You lucky dog. I liked to sushi so much that I am going to eat it for lunch today too. Veggie of course. I am down again. I have broken the 7 lbs mark. It is now a lose of 7.5 lbs. I may actually reach 10 by the 25th. That is the end date of our challenge right? If I don't get to it that is ok b/c I am still doing great. I tried on some of my jeans and they are still a no go. I didn't get upset. That is whatis amazing. Usually I want to cry b/c they don't fit. Not this morning. I tried them on and just slid them back off without a second thought. I know I will be in them soon enough. |
You have a great attitudea bout your goals Kempy. Congrats taht you're down again. I know that your determination will help you get to it. Even if you don't make the 10 lb mark, it was just an ideao f what one can lose... if you lose any weight, you've made it. Especially after everyone made it through the holidays okay. You're being a good girl, and sushi is supposed to be so good for you.
I'm just trucking along myself. I was admiring my waist in the mirror today, imagine that! Never in my life have I gotten rid of fat in my gut... now, i'm firming up, and looking great. I was teling my husband that i'll get into a tankini this summer i fI keep it up. He laughed. I said what's so funny? He said, if you keep this up, you'll start wearing a shoe string and be georgous. I love him. He's so encourageing to me. Flirts wiht me all the time. and treats me like a princess. cooks, cleans, steals kisses all the time. and never complains that i work too late, or complain too much (which I do) I am so lucky. So, scale says, 155. I'm banking on that , casue all this week, i step on it,a nd it's 155. that's 5 lbs in Jan challenge... gone. So, i'm trying. We're all trying. |
Ladies, I started yet another thread... called...... Natural Beauties on the Move!!! Figured it puts our great attitudes forward, and mentions our activity too!! So, looke for it.
