I try not to focus on the fat I have left ... just the fat that has gone!!!

I've never really even heard of the two types of fat mentioned here .... I'm prodding around my stomach trying to find soft and hard fat now (lol!!!)

I think eventually it will go down like everything else .. it is a pity we just can't programme in where we want to lose it from...

I have the double belly that the OP described, with the waist-dent. I am just happy that now that I've lost a little, the top roll no longer sticks out farther than my boobs do!

It is unlikely to be visceral fat. Visceral fat is typcially the first fat to go because of it's massive bloodflow access. Visceral fat is the only fat that isn't all that insulin sensative because of this.

The most likely answer is that it is just unusual fat patterning and the result of being in an area that for whatever reason (most likely blood flow) is a little stubborn. If I am correct (this isn't what you're going to want to hear) it could be sitting there for a while and look worse before it looks better.

Default OP you are not alone!

I have that shape, too - my big upper gut makes me crazy! Fortunately, I've lost 2 inches off it since I started Medifast 5 weeks ago. Even better, I've only lost 1/2 inch off my boobs. I'm looking forward to the day my boobs stick out further than my belly - I'm almost there!

I agree it's soo frustrating to have a muffin top even when wearing loose pants.

Very helpful, educational, and encouraging posts. Thank you!!
I have noticed in the past when losing weight, that the upper belly flab would go down...but of course, never faster than anywhere else, so it would still protrude! haha
