Default Started a mini goal but worried about wedding dress!!!

Hello. Last week I started my mini goal of losing 15 pounds! I want to lost 15 pounds before the first concert of the season. (May 14) However. I already bought my wedding dress to fit me now. And I am scared it won't fit right when I go to try it on (april 28th first alterations) (hopefully i will have lost the weight by then)

If I post pictures of the dress does anyone know if they can help me?!

The wedding dress people are amazing. Here's my experience. When I bought my dress, I got a size 8 b/c they run so small. I was pregnant at the time, and I was supposed to get married in 6 weeks from buying this adorable dress. I asked them if it could be taken out if it didn't still fit me. They said they could turn an 8 into a 12!!! That's a huge difference! Even now, when we get married (had to reschedule) being that the dress is too big, they can turn it into a 4 which I would need. The wedding dresses are very flexible! Good luck! Your dress is pretty.

Thank you!! My Mom thinks i'm worried about nothing. But I think its a legit concern!! I am not worried about the price of how much it will cost. I just do not want it to look frumpy on me if I can (WILL) lose this baby weight.

This is an issue for me too! I ordered my dress last weekend and it fits me now, but I am hoping to be about 20 pounds thinner for my wedding in July. I asked my consultant if I should order smaller, but she advised me to get the size I am now because taking a dress in is pretty easy (much easier than letting it out). I totally get your fear! But rest assured, the dress gods will make it work for you! Congrats on your wedding!

that is an amazing dress. You look gorgeous. And yes to mirror what the others have been saying, there will be no problem altering it.

When I bought my dress, I was losing weight too. The shop keeper and the seamstress both told me that most wedding dresses can be taken down 4 sizes before the dress loses it's distinctive shape.

From someone who does sew! It is way easier to take it in, than let it out. No worries!

I did alter a dress for a friend, that needed to be let out. Thank God it had a huge bow on the back. I ended up using the fabric from the bow to let out the bodice in the dress. What a chore. It would have been way easier to take it in.

Formalwear can generally always be taken in 2 sizes, often more.

The dress (and bride) are beautiful! I would definitely have a chat with your alterations person, but I believe the dresses can be taken in and out pretty easily.

Thanks!! I have an appointment on April 28th for my first fitting and I was thinking if I start actually losing weight here within the next couple of weeks I will call and get their opinions along with the options they offer.
