I still have the clothes I used to wear when I was much, much thinner. I consider them my motivation clothes and I look forward to the day when I can wear them again.

If buying smaller-sized items for your ultimate outfit works in keeping you motivated, then go for it. Whatever works for you.

If that works for you, go for it. Just don't spend too much and buy just ONE thing so if the experiment doesn't work like you thought, it's not a huge waste.

That wouldn't work for me though. If I'm going to shop, I rather buy a cute thing that fits me NOW so I can enjoy myself throughout the process. I have to drop 100 lbs -- my process is going to be a long journey!

But... different strokes for different folks.

btw, should have mentioned most of my clothes buying thoughts are daydreams...at least buying an entire outfit is....but i do still think i will buy a couple things i really love when i am a couple sizes away...but only when those couple sizes away lands quite close to my goal weight....so they won't have been a waste and will be an exciting reward....but having them a little sooner will definitely ramp up my efforts.....buying clothes along the way that will only fit for a month or two seems like a waste of money to me just cause i wear mostly dresses and they fit me throughout many sizes ....so i feel more guilty paying for stuff that will only fit for a short time

perhaps if i start bringing in more money, which is likely to happen after moving into a cheaper place.. i could reward myself with the parts of certain outfits that don't require size...like earrings or other stuff like that....but that isn't likely since i am also currently planning a wedding D: ....and i am so confused about figuring out what to wear, bc i don't want to have to stop losing just so i know i won't surpass the size of whatever i intend on wearing :O ...seems i'll have to wait very close to the last minute for that

thanks for sharing all your opinions ! i'm glad that some of you also do this

now i just need to lose 143 lbs ! :P
