Default Really 1/9 of a serving????

Ok WTHeck!!! How does one get 1/9 th of a pizza? I could see 1/4, or maybe 1/12th. But really how do you get a 9th?

So I took the calories in 1/9th multiplyed by 9 and then divided into the number of slices I can actually cut the pizza into. So you all think that is acurate?

I think you're good with your calculation.

Yup, that's what I do when their calculations make no sense! The other day was 1/5 of a pizza, who cuts it like that?? Doesn't everybody cut it in 8 slices like me?

Yes, I cut it in eight slices. Thats why I generally weigh the food and calculate the calories per gram, I can cut or serve it however I want, provided it is weighed

Yep! I had to do that when I was making my diet soda cupcakes. The box of mix said 12 servings, but 1/12 of it would not fit into the wells of my cupcake tin. So I multiplied by 12 and divided by 16 (the number of cupcakes I actually made). I think they come up with these numbers somewhat randomly.

That works perfectly. I always just calculate calories for the whole thing and then just divide it up based on how much of it I ate.

you guys, thats what a FOOD SCALE is for!! no more wonky crazy calculations and substitutions and conversions! Along with the serving size listed as 1/9th pizza it will have also said what the serving size was in GRAMS....... maybe its 1/9th or 85 grams, for instance (3 oz)...... way more accurate and easier.....weigh the pices of pizza and add and subtract more untill you get the right number of grams..... silly people....
