You lost 70 lbs! What's a piddly 10 pound backslide? If losing more weight is what you want, by now you must certainly know that it is possible.

What "diet" did you do before? I don't think you can expect such impossibly fast results as 70 lbs in 3 months (over 20 lbs a month is really extreme and possibly unhealthy?), but tracking calories and cutting out (just as examples) fried foods or soft drinks will definitely be your friend.

Think about the positive, you are still down 60 pounds! In the grand scheme of things, 10 pounds is nothing. In the middle of my weight loss journey I had a month long slip of where I gained 30 pounds. Yes, just about a pound a day due to massive amounts of boozing and eating everything in site (my old ways). I was able to come back thanks to the support of people here.

You can do it! Those 10 pounds will be back off very soon.

Congrats on your weight loss!!

What I've learned in this journey is that I can't lose weight doing a diet, and then expect to go back to my prior lifestyle. In some respects, losing weight isn't hard (well, it is, but hopefully ykwim). It's KEEPING the weight off that's hard.

As you reflect and consider how to get back on plan, you might want to think about a plan you can live with, long term. 70 pounds in three months is amazing, but probably not sustainable. As you've learned, it's just too easy to put the weight back.

The short answer to will you lose 10 lbs---yes! You lost 70 lbs before, so you KNOW you have it in you to lose a measly 10.

However, from reading your post, your issue is NOT about food or diets. It is about your feelings about yourself and your self-described desperation for compliments/appreciation/etc. No diet in the world can fix that. I am happy that you have changed your life and gotten to where you have stopped living a lie! That is VERY commendable. The road to change is often winding, sometimes we turn around and need to start over, but eventually we can get to where we need to be. Therefore, be HAPPY that you have atleast began questioning things and have stopped to highlight fundamental issues that affect other areas of your life.

I can empathize with using other people as a measure for your self-esteem, infact we all can. I too sometimes did not feel motivated to lose weight because I felt like I wasn't lacking in attention from men. When I did have a boyfriend, he also made me feel very desirable as his compliments and actions showed that he found me 100% attractive. HOWEVER, if you base your esteem on others, it will ALWAYS be fickle. As if one person thinks you look good..you will feel fine and if another thinks you look bad, then you feel bad. I had to decide to lose weight for myself and not base it on what men thought of me or what a bf thought. I remember even a friend of mine was saying "You're already sexy". All of this would seem like great grounds to say why the heck bother?? But you know what, I appreciate the sentiments but I am doing it for ME and MY health. For ME to feel good with what I see and not only because I think other people like it or not. You have to find out what you truly feel/think/want and not just what others reflect.

I think breaking up and deciding to work on yourself in ALL areas is a step in the right direction. Until you feel fine and balanced then you can easily allow yourself to be subsumed by a relationship, which is not healthy. So congrats to you for making that choice. You don't have to be miserable and insecure for the rest of your life. You already KNOW how to lose weight, so I think you have to now begin the journey to find that security of self and happiness with yourself, which won't happen overnight, but will definitely happen! I wish you all the luck and you can message me anytime.

Get back on the wagon by making a promise to yourself - to do things that will only benefit you and help your future.

Eating right, exercising, and staying 'on the wagon' is being kind to yourself and your future self.

Being honest with others in the first instance is being kind to yourself in the long run.

Don't do this to impress others or for the benefit of others - BE SELFISH - do everything for your benefit!

wow. great loss! but, if you did some very restrictive diet, it's no wonder you don't feel the motivation to do it again. just remember where you are now and try not to gain any more. try to eat healthy or cut out one bad thing at a time. walk for 10 minutes a day at a time if you are not exercising. you will quickly want to walk more and do more things.

Thank you everyone for the support and the feedback.
All of you are an amazing inspiration and motivation to me.
Since you guys are curious to know how I have lost 70lbs within
three months I will go ahead and tell you.

Every single day I would walk around my neighborhood for an hour or more.
For breakfast I would cook scrambled eggs with green and red peppers cooked in a small amount of olive oil and wrapped up into two corn torillas.
For lunch I would either have a salad with fat free ranch dressing or a sandwich with wheat bread, turkey, olive mayo spread onto one slice of bread, and occasionally I would throw a slice of cheese on there.
For dinner I would have grilled or baked skinless/boneless chicken with any two vegetables I desired. Mushrooms, broccoli, brown rice, green beans, squash, corn.. etc.
If I were to ever skip out on any of my meals I would substitute it with either a 190 calorie Slim Fast shake or tuna and crackers or a fruit.
My calorie intake would range anywhere between 1200-1800 every day.

Since winter rolled along I enrolled myself into the gym.
I went 3-6 times a week for two months.
It's best to have one free day a week that way it will balance your weight loss out and make you crave certain foods less.

On my free days.. Since I love mexican food I would make fajitas with mexican rice and black beans. On my free days I will still avoided sweets but sometimes had one soda can. I probably only had 3 soda cans during my entire diet of three months.

I watched my sodium and carb intake as well.

When I went out to eat with family and friends I will order something healthy like salmon or talipia so you can still go out and enjoy yourself with people.

Drink plenty of water.
I cut out sweets, soda, and white foods.

I would suggest Lean Cuisine meals because they're easy to keep track of when it comes to calorie counting and plus the portion sizes are perfect.
Plus they're delicious. It's recommended that you have six small meals a day and get plenty of exercise to build up your metabolism but I tended to just stick with three.
If I were to get hungry in between meals I just munched on a healthy fruit.

I guess you can say I somewhat restricted myself which probably was not the best idea. After reading all the feedback I feel that I am gaining back my motivation to stay on the wagon and continue dieting for myself.
It felt so good to lose weight and watch my body slim down. The transformation was wonderful and to go back where I started would crush me.
I worked so hard and I'll be damned if I give up. Thank you again.
I appreciate all the great advice and tips. Also, I will be keeping all of you updated with pictures during my diet just to show you what your kind words have done for me.

Wow just reading how you lost the 70 lbs lets me know that you really have it together. You are way ahead of the game and just because you tripped and fell off the wagon doesn't mean anything you just need to get back up and keep on going. I wish I had your discipline.
