Well TEAM Happy Labor Day :carrot:
I am semi-happy to report in at 189 for the 5th out of the last 6 days :carrot: Obviously that is not where I want to be but it is good to finally being out of the stinkin' 90's....how in the heck did I get back in there anyway? pure baloney is what it is ;) We had our Labor Day BBQ on Saturday with 25 friends and family. The menu was pretty safe...Angie and I grilled chicken to put on nice rolls with honey mustard dressing/guacamole/cheddar cheese/tomato/red onion and lettuce. The rest of the family brought sides of watermelon, potato salads, veggie platters and chips and dip. I was good on the eating :) and extra good on the beer drinking :D Obviously why I am in the high '80's now..... MINDY ~ I can understand you being apprehensive about your ex leaving but it could be the chance for you to turn a new exciting corner in your life....freedom from the past can be a good thing in many ways. SUPER J ~ Sorry about the BF...my brother had that issue...opposite of course...many years ago, his girlfriend left him for another woman...not so shocking nowadays but it sure was back then...the 2 girls have been together for over 15 years now. good luck in the new journey and great to see you back! BRAT ~ great job on sticking with the walking :carrot: Sorry about that school mess  Hope you had a great time with your friend. ELANAROSE ~ My wife loves the Say Yes to The Dress show....cool for you and your mom's wedding dress :) Looking forward to seeing you here on week-ends when you get time...I hope you are way to busy to visit during the week!!! Have a great year in school...cross-country this year? MRSAUGIE ~ good to see you here, hope you can catch your breath with your little guy in school. TOOBIG ~ Continuing prayers for your fil  ANNE ~ Great idea on getting back to basics with the food log and weight chart. JEN ~ How are you doing? Morning sickness? My dil is really going through that right now  Have a great week TEAM...I will check in often but still driving 200+ miles round trip each day and working my 8 so these old posting fingers get tired ;) Thanks for keeping us rocking and rolling :carrot: |
You are so good EZ :)
|

Well team.. here starts a new thread!
Jeannette-Sorry about the man troubles but at least now you know! Just keep at it.. EZMONEY-congrats on getting out the 190s! I walked 3 more miles today. Tonight will be a late night for me doing homework since I procrastinated and wanted to spend time with the hubby since he actually had the holiday off work. It's rare he has two days off. I'm tired now and he's in bed snoozing to prepare to go back to work tomorrow and I'm having to stay up to do homework. It was worth it though and we had a good weekend. He put up our kitchen cabinet knobs and the kitchen sure looks different with that small change. Have a good night! |
I need to vent - I apologize in advance.
I am fighting a bad case of the bloats. DH won a trip to the Gorge in George to see The Dave Matthews Band. It's a 3+ hour drive and the wine group that sponsored it took us all (DH, chosen coworkers and their SOs) on two party buses. We departed at 2pm. I brought some hard boiled eggs so I avoided the worst of the snack crap on the way there - I only succumbed to a few chips and a little beef jerky - and drank red wine along with my water. I knew I'd be drinking going in, so that was no surprise. I think I'm the only one who didn't get drunk, though. Anyway, tailgating dinner before the concert - I avoided all the truly heinous stuff and mostly stuck with shrimp and 2 roll-ups in tortillas (slices, like at Costco?) and one wedge of a beef/cheese/croissant thing. Not all that much food. Then the several-hour concert which was awesome (we had VIP seats, 20th row, dead center) except for the couple next to us - he was drunk, and jealous 'cause his gal talked to another man and he spent the entire concert verbally abusing her. God that sucked in every way possible. So... concert ends, we all pile on the bus (nearly everyone else was pretty plowed, ugh) and we head out for the three+ hour drive back top Seattle... and our bus breaks down. Right at the top of the pass. We all pile onto the other bus, which now is crammed to the gills with drunk people, to the point of sitting on the floor. DH and most of his coworkers all had to be in their first accounts early on Monday morning (no holidays when you are a sales rep), so they are all drunk, exhausted, trying to sleep crammed into this party bus (without a bathroom!). Of course, someone had to get sick... oh gawd, that was a **** ride. We finally got back home at 4:30 am... which is when DH's alarm usually goes off. He was one hurting unit yesterday - I got some sleep so was a bit better off. Well, what I didn't mention was that it was my TOM during this, I was bloated to begin with, but the snacks/food/etc. I blew up like a balloon. My feet swelled up between my sandal straps. I feel like crap from eating off plan. I'm not hung over from the wine (didn't get drunk) but from the carbs. We both wish we hadn't gone - the concert was great but we're both too old for this s&#*t. There - I vented, and almost feel a bit better now. Thanks. |
It's good to be back guys! Mtiger, I know how living with the ex is. I lived with Cella's dad for a long time after he broke up with me. It will b e better for you and him if he leaves. Plus NC is really nice!
Thanks for the welcome backs and stuff. I have a dr appointment Friday so I'll see what I weigh. PLEASE nowhere over 200 but I do feel like I'm at 220 or so. Good news, with all my poorness I won't be able to eat junk much. I eat a lot of PB&J nowadays! :) Come one guys, we can do it! |
Real quick hit. First day of school went well although I brought work home. Need to workout. No news on the ex and NC job.
I'll let ya know if i hear anything> |
HI TEAM ~
Well I was up to 191.0 this morning and I have no freakin' idea (baloney) why :dunno: I'd like to say it was the labor day week-end beer...the nachos for breakfast...twice....or the unguarded bag of kettle chips... but I can't I just can't  Denial is a beautiful thing ;) Maybe I can take a pound down at work this week. MINDY ~Glad school went well...Angie has started week 2 and my son and dil have started week 2 also but last week was a 2-day-er SUPER J ~ Here's hoping new found $$$ and better choices available  ROBIN ~ The Gorge can be pretty....traveled through a few times when Angie and I built a house in Kennewick about 5 years ago...sounds like one bus ride I wouldn't want to be on! :D BRAT ~:carrot: on the walks and homework! Be good TEAM  |
I didn't work out today since I am really tired. But I did stay well under my calories for the day to help counteract that and only ate 1300 something calories instead of my usual 1600 something. We got quite a bit of rain today due to the tropical storm off our coast. It was a nice change. The heat still hasn't really come back yet. I'm praying it stays that way since at times I do have a walk when I go to classes depending on where I find a parking spot and I am having a hard time walking with how warm it is still. I got home from classes late and pretty much crashed today. Have a good night all!
|
Hey everyone! FIL is out of the hospital for now, still no idea what is really wrong with him. Going to see more doctors next week.
Weight has been up and down a few pounds with stress and TOM. Really need to start working out again but to tell the trueth right now I am glad it is raining so I have an excuse to just sit here. :) Hope everyone has a great day! |
Real quick...I was back at 189.8 this morning....going down.....
|
I was under my calories today and ate only 1567 calories and burned off 330 by walking for an hour. Now time for reading homework. Tomorrow is going to be a challenge since tomorrow is my busy day at school. Have a great night!
|
Back to 214.5 this morning! Doctors appt. this afternoon, it will be interesting to see what he has to say about weight loss and not smoking.
|
I am happy to report I'm down another pound to 217.2. Since I've really gotten back on track with my calorie tracking and bumping my exercise up I've seen a 2.4 pound drop in the past week alone. I'm happy but tired! :-) Gotta get back to homework. Be good team!
|
This weight of mine is not moving! :tantrum: I keep losing and gaining the same two pounds. I guess I should be really impressed with how well I maintain it! LOL!
My allergies are not helping. I'm considering skipping the gym Saturday. I usually go six days a week, but I am so ridiculously tired! My workouts are suffering because I'm only going through the motions. I think I may need to sleep in Saturday more than I need to hit the gym. I'm putting that out there so I feel like it is a planned decision and not an "I-don't-want-to" decision. |
When I get tired of my work outs I like to do extra intense half workouts for a while. Of course whether or not that makes sense depends on what your goal is.
My first week (2 days) of university is done. Everything went pretty well, it was strangely similar to high school, just with more people. I was expecting something entirely different and unexpected. Like aliens or something I think. Either way it was pretty normal. I got lost on the buses twice and someone was rude to me once, and I got lost trying to find one class, but the girl I asked to help me was super nice and polite and showed me where the right room was. I haven't made any friends yet. I was somehow hoping that I'd make a bunch of friends instantaneously. I haven't even really met anyone yet, no one talks in my classes. The professors say, you know, you guys can talk to your neighbours beside you, but everyone just looks all freaked out and nervous and doesn't say anything. I signed up to play intramural (the just for fun sort against people from your own school) soccer which starts next weekend, we'll see how that goes lol. I promised myself a few months ago that I was going to start jogging and be all thin and in great shape by the time school started, that didn't really happen. I had to chase my dog around the park the other day and did all right though (and inevitably caught him), soccer can't be "that" much different. I won't have the fear that the ball will get lost or hit by a car to keep me going though. I just realised they might not have a shirt big enough, that would be really embaressing. That's my first week of school at a glance. I hope everyone else's week went well. |
A lot on my plate today....
working on a house our church has that we rent out to members and helping get ready for our big annual BBQ Sept. 11 memory/honor celebration at church too for tomorrow.... so I will catch up later but the good news is I was at 188.4 yesterday and this morning...been some time since I was there....hope to keep it going be good |
I am thrilled I've now broken into the next 'decade' - 269.2, yay! Thursday evening was my second Zumba class, then last night I went walking with my son and his GF.
Hubby is on vacation this coming week - we're going to be the guests of King Estates Winery (outside of Eugene, OR) for a couple of days, and it will be interesting to see how closely to my plan I can stay since they provide all the food, etc. They are all about healthy and organic, though... but there will be a LOT of wine. I am giving myself permission to be a bit indulgent for those couple of days. It's going to be wonderful to get away from all the family drama for a while and reconnect. :) |
HEY TEAM :)
Well I hit the big freakin 190 again this morning....dang....after 2 days at 188! Could be the pizza and beer Friday night with the son and dil or the chili verde enchiladas and beer last night or the chicken and hamburger/pasta & potato salad and beans and beer at the 9-11 Remembrance at church this afternoon..... could be? But Angie seems to go everywhere I go and doesn't gain... sure I drink a little more...ok...a lot more.... but I try to pee a lot... way before it can turn into calories... Be good  |
Well back to 188 this morning and no one here to talk to....
|
I'm hanging in here at 217.8. I've been under the weather since Sunday. Saturday night I went out and had 3 drinks and really should have stopped at number 2. Sunday I woke up feeling pretty badly due to my night out. But now I think I am fighting off a cold or just some really BAD allergies. I've not walked in almost a week since last Thursday after I finished walking I got some really painful twinges in my shins and had pain in my shins for a couple of days afterwards and my feet are just hurting non-stop too despite wearing comfy and supportive shoes at all times. I do not want to get shin splints since I've had that before so I'm taking it easy and re-considering my "fitness" plan. I'm considering getting a consult with a personal trainer at the gym and just getting some ideas from them and also just changing up my work outs and go to more gym classes instead of doing walking on the treadmill mostly.
EZMONEY-WTG! Have a great day! |
well down to 216 another one gone.
|
I did a zumba class tonight at my gym and it was great very hard but great fun. The hour just flew by! I watched my calories pretty good today as well. I'm still holding at 217. Hopefully I'll see a drop tomorrow. I'm drenched in sweat still as we speak and will be heading to the bath tub to soak! Have a great night team!
|
Well good morning! I am pleased to report that I am back down to 216 for a total of 1.8 pounds lost since yesterday. I'm also pretty sore today in places that I forgot I had muscles in from Zumba last night. There is another dance class tonight I'll be going to. Hopefully I've found what works for me and I'll keep just mixing the work outs up. Have a great day team!
|
Good morning!!!
Well, doc appointment was fine, nothing is wrong with me (yay) so that's good. My weight was 213 though which is my highest EVER. But guess what? I'm doing a 5K! I sign up tomorrow! And hopefully I'll get far enough with my schoolwork this week that once TOM ends, I'll be able to go to the gym. :) I hope everyone is having a good weekend! |
HI TEAM :)
Well I am bouncing back and forth between 188-91. At least I am hitting the 80's a lot more than the 90's! I will be working closer to home some for a few weeks so I may be able to get more walks in after work. We took the dogs out for 4 miles yesterday on a morning Starbucks trip, first one I have done since Labor Day morning :( Just don't feel like it after getting up at 3am and driving 220 miles on top of 8 hours of drywall work....must be getting old ;) I am hoping to be down in the morning, I have taken it a lot of high sodium foods the last few days....bacon/ham/pizza and of course cheese! Beer doesn't count right?.....riiiight....dang! :D BRAT ~ :carrot: Zumba :carrot: So proud of you! SUPER J ~ :carrot: 5K :carrot: So proud of you too! MRSAUGIE ~Nice work on counting down those pounds...those kids are going to be as proud of you as we are! HELLO TO ALL THE MIA'S :) |
Well.. I've been pretty sore since the Zumba class. Now I'm thinking I may have to go see a doctor. My stomach is still very sore and it just doesn't feel right and is actually kind of puffy and I can't bend down or straighten up with ease or sit down or get back up easily either. So I'm wondering if I somehow injured my stomach muscles by pulling them or straining them. I talked to two friends of mine one who used to be a football trainer and one who used to be a paramedic and they both assured me that it is possible to do just that and the class I took was definitely strenous enough for me to do that especially since my core is probably weak. I recall two women actually leaving the class and not being able to finish it so it was very intense. Hopefully I can get in to see my doctor tomorrow and rule out hernia or appendicitis and I'm just praying I have hurt myself somehow and will need time to heal. I've had to stay home to take it easy and not go to my sister in law's baby shower and she really was wanting me to come. The shower was almost a 3 hour drive one way and I just can't sit that long in a car right now. I just hate disappointing her. Have a great day!
|
That doesn't sound normal at all! I hope it's just soreness and nothing serious! Let us know what happens!
|
Well I just got home from the doctor and it is 50/50 that I have either hurt myself pretty badly in the Ab area or I do in fact have a hernia. He assured me that if it is a hernia then I in fact have one of the best kinds to get and with very little recovery time after surgery. He sent me home with strict orders to take it easy and to try a heating pad. If I still feel the same tomorrow morning he is sending me to a surgeon. I'm trying to not freak out since I'm unemployed and have no health insurance either now. Anyways that is my update. Bye for now.
|
Oh my gosh! Well, I hope it's just a pulled muscle. *hugs*
|
Okay...Oh my goodness. Where has the time gone. I have been so busy with school starting and dealing with home issues. Can't believe it's been this long. Well, I am still holding around 175, still working out almost everyday and working. Trying to get into a routine that works right now. Haven't found it yet. My ex will not be going to NC, but he did get his old job back today. He will be getting more $$ than unemployment. That's good!!
I really need to move forward in my life and I feel stuck...in so many ways. Hold on gang ..it could get bumpy. I am going to try to be more consistent with posting, gonna gt back to a good schedule and hoepfully some new beginings are coming my way. We shall see. |
HI TEAM ~
Weighed in at 191 even this morning...too much cheese and pizza this week-end...dang! BRAT ~ I hope, at worst, a pulled muscle! MINDY ~ Life sure is full of fun sometimes isn't it?...lol... SUPER J ~Keep coming back! |
Sorry for being MIA. I've been low on enthusiasm!! Grrr. At least I'm still weighing in at 204 & not going up drastically.
Blonde - hope you're ok! Gary - Thanks for the new thread. Mtiger - Yay for your ex. Now maybe you can start planning the next phase? Hang in there team! |
