Just came across this when I was being nosey in the 20-something section of the bored. I tried it and I can feel it in my abs, so there may something to it:

Quote:
The cure: You can do it when your watching TV, Driving, posting on 3FC, or anytime.
sitting or standing slowly suck in you belly like your trying to look thin, and hold it there but dont hold your breath. Hold it for about 10 second then slowly let it out. Do it as many time as you want, as often as you can.

I am a teacher so I get some exercise walking around the classroom and taking them down to lunch.

During my prep period I could do a lot more, but like Eliana said I don't like to sweat in my work clothes.

Also if I had an exercise ball or weights my middle school students would try and play with them, maybe even steal them. I work in a school with those problems.

I was just doing some research on sitting on exercise balls and some ergonomic professional don't recommend them for long term sitting. But this also led me to a suggestion of sitting on a balance disc instead. I'm really thinking about getting one of these since it just sits on your chair vs. being your chair. They seem like they are a lot more discrete than an actual ball, but give a lot of the same benefits! Does anyone use these to sit on?
