Expensive NSV!

  • So, I went out today and I spent a lot of money on a brand...new...bike! I am so, so excited. It was my "reward" for sticking to my plan. Whereas a year or two ago I would not have spent $800 on anything that didn't involve a computer (haha), now I just dropped that much on a piece of equipment that will have me out on trails and greenways, doing things I never would have imagined wanting to do before!

Heck, I live close enough to the gym that I can bike there, do my weights, and then bike home. Cardio and weights in one go! I'm really freaking out about the cost, hehe, but I know the benefits are going to be worth it both in health and happiness!
  • Yay, what a fab reward for yourself! I don't think you'll regret a penny of the cost when you're fit and delicious!
  • Enjoy it
A much better use of money in my opinion!
  • congrats, that's a reward that will keep on giving!
  • That's great! My husband keeps saying he wants to buy me a bike this summer, but the idea of spending 300 or so dollars on myself like that just really freaks me out! But I think I'm warming up to the idea, it's certainly a good investment.

I hope you get a lot of fun exercise out of your awesome reward! The biking to the gym idea sounds terrific. =)
  • Outstanding!!

    Wear your helmet KIDDO!
  • I went out and bought a bike today too!!

Too cold and windy to ride it this afternoon, though
  • Thanks, everyone, for the kind words!

I took it out in my neighborhood, and I am going to be working muscle groups I've never worked before, haha. I think I'm going to start spinning at the gym every day to get myself in shape, as well as riding on the weekends.
  • How exciting! That's a great NSV.
  • Congrats! It will be not only a great reward to yourself, but maybe even a new hobby and you'll be amazed at all the places you can go on a bike. And you'll see more than you would driving in the car.

    I LOVE my bicycle!
