8 glasses of water?? I hate water I find it actually hard to drink... I don't know why I could drink a can of pepsi and a cup of tea fine and be ready for the next one, but give me a glass of water or juice and it will take me all day to get through.

Since you gave up pepsi and tea, what are you drinking if not water? I'm guessing your headaches are both caffeine withdrawl and dehydration.

Dehydration isn't something you wanna flirt with. The headaches are just the beginning! My dad recently suffered some serious dehydration (his ship sank at sea and he spent a couple days in a life raft) and his back pain was crazy from his kidneys being all "dude...where's the water?"

Water can be very boring, I agree. I've had good results when I drink with a straw (because I'm a five year old trapped in a 31 year old's body, maybe), and when I just park a big jug of it on my desk and try to get through it during the course of the work day. I also try to have a glass (not a big glass, just a cup or so) before a meal.

It gets easier Just take it one cup or glass at a time.

I also want to add that dehydration can seriously affect your milk supply. Think about it this way - each of your babies is probably drinking 24-32 oz of milk every 24 hours. That's 48 to 64 oz of fluid from you in the milk alone, let alone the fluids your body needs to just survive. You can get some water from things like milk in your cereal, soups, high water content fruit, but you really need to be drinking water. You can make it moe interesting by flavoring it with small amounts of juice, slicing up cucumbers and putting them at the bottom of a pitcher of water (cucumber water is yummy), etc, but you've got to get it in somehow. I drink 16 oz of water before every meal, and again in the evening when I take my evening medications. That gets in the 64 oz (and also acts as an appetite suppressant during the meal). If I'm thirsty between meals, I'll drink more. Some people like water better at room temp and some prefer it chilled. Figure out which you can get down easier and go with it.

Thats why I had headaches aswell then! I didn't link the two. I used to ONLY drink Pepsi and tea and then went cold turkey. It is worth it, I don't drink Pepsi at all now (or any other fizzy drinks) and I only have one cup of tea a day ( morning). Gosh think of all the calories we are saving!!

Though I do have a redbull now and again if I'm planning a day of vigorous excercise.

I hope you stick at it mate! You will feel better once it's out of your system!

Some people disagree, but I think crystal light or sugar free kool aid or whatever is just as good. Certainly you need major fluids!

I agree. I think pure water is probably the best choice (because it's free from artificial flavorings/sweeteners/colors), but I think getting fluids in period is more important than the source (especially when you're using your super powers to make milk for two babies!)

If you quit the caffeine cold turkey the extreme withdrawals usually last 3-4 excrutiating days. Those symptom can also be from your sugar level dropping. You may want to try 5 or six smaller meals spread throughout the day instead of a very small breakfast & lunch and then a giant dinner.

Breastfeeding and taking care of twins takes a lot out of you physically and emotionally. Sometimes you'rr so tired that you forget to eat. But you have to take care of yourself in order to care of the babies. Drink plenty of water, nap when the babies are napping and enjoy them while you can . they will grow up before you know it.
