Help...Need a support group
I am almost embarrassed to say that I have gained over 30lbs over the past year. I have had a lot of stressful events, mostly good but stressful and I have lost control. I lost 50lbs in 2003 and kept it off until now and I know I need to lose but I am not really motivated. I am starting a weight loss plan on Monday, March 1st and I'm looking for some support---- some fellow dieteeeeers. I try to ignore my weight because I am totally disgusted with myself. Even though I can no longer fit into my clothes. I booked my trip to Cancun for June 23rd and need this weight gone... :carrot: Come 1 come all let’s join together and fight this battle.. I will do weight watchers (not the meetings.. just doing my points myself)

I too, need to be back here for support, so count me inas part of your support, hopefully, I can count on you as part of my support! I have joined an Anytime Fitness the middle of Jan, and have been trying to get there at least 3 times a week. It is incredibly intimidating for me, since I am so overweight, and really, really out of shape ( well, I guess round IS a shape...) but, I want to figure out how to get a handle on my eating. Perhaps this board is what I need ( again)!

I need to do something too. I'm just not sure which way to start. I guess I'll figure it out by Monday, March 1st. I'm in.

Excellent..!!! I'm soo excited.... So I'm starting this Monday thought I weighed 220 but the scale says 229.. This can't be right.. sigh.... :?: Is my scale off??? I'm muching on Dominos' with friends and thinking can I really do this... Oh my please hold my hand...

Startiff, welcome. We are here for you. I regained my weight loss from last year due to stress as well. Can totally sympathize. My first piece of advice tho is not to wait til Monday. Start tomorrow. Start now.....Put down the pizza and step away........

I know honey I just do not have my supplies and that will set me up for total failure.. But I will be at A&P tomorrow for my stuff..

I went to the YMCA today for my MICROfit wellness test. I never in a million years believed that my body fat percentage would be 38.8. Like you, I am dedicated to loosing the weight this time. |

You have begun your journey. How did you do on your first day? I am sluggish. I hope I'm not coming down with ear infection. I did better yesterday than I did today. We had a faculty meeting and I nibbled on snacks I shouldn't have, but I counted every calorie....and then some... Yikes! I hope you did good today.

Not Satisfied- Need help!!
I joined this forum in hopes of getting the support I need to lose the weight I gained during the last 6 months. I've tried getting back on track at the beginning of the year but failed. I hope with everyones help here, I can make it happen. My current weight is 162 and my goal is to get to 147lbs. Yesterday I began making changes on the way I've been eating and started my exercise program at home. I hope to stick to this and reach my goal weight by July in time for my Cruise. Today is my 2nd day doing my Weight Watchers and having to stay within my daily point range is driving me crazy. I just had a Lean Cusine and a side of broccoli and I'm still not satisfied. OMG, I just wish I could have some chocolate or something... I am getting a headache from not having enough food :-(

I understand. It's my 3rd day. I understand what you're going through. I actually started doing calorie counting rather than the WW points. So far I like calorie counting. I over estimate my calories. I like WW snacks, especially when they're low in points. When I eat the WW snacks, I just use the calories rather than the points. It's kind of time consuming because I have to input (from scratch most times) my food journal. I've been using fitday.com. It's been holding me accountable. Also, I HATE having to type everything in from scratch, it's almost not worth eating the snack because then I have to go type it in....from scratch. LOL! Today, we started my daughter's kickball practice. Instead of sitting and watching, I took my MP3 and brisked walked for 30 minutes. This was a HUGE accomplishment because I am so sedentary. I was proud of myself. I'm sure my calves won't be happy tomorrow. Keep hanging in there! I hope your headaches go away. It will get better. If your needing a chocolate fix, have 1-refrigerated chocolate peppermint or a couple of hershey's kisses (eaten & enjoyed very slowly). Way to go on day 2!!!!:D |

Thanks for your feedback and support. Today I am feeling a lot better and so far I’ve only used 4 of my points leaving me with 17 to use for lunch and dinner. I think I will do better today. I made sure to grab some fat free chocolate jello puddings which are only 1 point. Thought it would help me out with my headaches and chocolate fix. The only thing hurting right now, are my muscles. Man I am really sore today. I started my exercise program at home and have been doing some spinning and some free weights. Not sure if I will be able to do any tonight but I will definitely do my 45 min walking at lunch time today. Walking while at your daughters kickball practice is a fantastic idea. I used to sit around myself while at my son’s football practice this past fall and I’d always say, “Ok tomorrow I will walk” but never did. I give it to you though for actually doing it. YOU GO GIRL!! I am sure you will see some results soon. And yes, I am sure you will be sore tomorrow but don’t let it stop you. We are on a roll; let’s keep up the good work. |

Have not posted in a few days. Sorry about that I work nights and when I do I am usually down for the count. Well I thought working at nights would be hard for me to control my WW points but I was fine except I had too many points left over. I am off tonight and I am going crazy. I wish that I has a large pizza pie with some meat, like the already cooked chicken from Costco. Yummy.. But I have been good so far except for the 3 bites I took from the frozen pizza... :dizzy: but I honestly feel better being able to post to this site. Thanks guys...... :carrot: |
Yes, this site is a good distraction from eating if you're bored and good motivation. Good luck! :cheer:
