Sometimes people notice but don't want to say anything because they're not sure. People who see us daily, like co-workers, are seeing you change very gradually, so it's not like it's a drastic WHOOSH to them--they are seeing you get smaller in small increments so they probably don't consciously realize it.
I have a good friend at work and, early on, I told her that I'd lost 22 pounds. She said, "I was going to say something because I noticed, but there have always been people around!" So sometimes people are noticing when we think they aren't.
Like many others, it wasn't really till I had lost a good 30 pounds before people started noticing. Once I started buying smaller pants, people started mentioning it. But I have now lost 53 pounds, and there are still people at work (who I consider friends!) who haven't said a thing. Have they noticed? I dunno!
