lol. this tickles me. Well, I am a nut. So I make sure I have no clothes on, my hair is not wet, no pony holders, I just peed, just had a bm IF AT ALL POSSIBLE, heh.
but..I weight myself like this EVERYTIME.
If you tend to wear about the same thing each time. it shouldn't make a difference. But if you are wearing heavy cloth material and have things in your pocket....then of course you will weigh more then if you are wearing cotton capris and a tank top.
I weigh at the gym, so I'm wearing my workout pants & my tanktop - but I do it the same way every time. Consistency is what really matters anyway - I'm more hung up on a downward trend than I am a number in a vacuum.
No clothes, nada, zip, NONE, no eyeglasses or contacts, no chewing gum, no earrings, and be sure and exhale and THEN and only THEN step on the scale.
that's funny. no clothes here. I've noticed up to a 2 lb difference with and without. I agree it's the consistency, but the lower number (however slightly lower) helps me feel better, heh heh
I weigh naked, but that's mostly because I do it first thing in the morning before my shower, and since I don't wear anything to bed, there's no reason I'd ever have clothes on at that time. So even on the rare occasion that I do have clothes on in the morning (ex. we have company over and I can't exactly walk to the bathroom naked) I take them off to weigh for the sake of consistency.
I weigh first thing in the morning, after I pee, without any clothes and before breakfast. I haven't noticed a diff between clothes and weighing naked, so I'm guessing you have to wear heavy clothes for it to matter. Regardless, I agree with previous posters that you have to be consistent about your weighing times.
Totally naked, after the bathroom, take off my glasses, ponytail holder, I'd cut my hair if I liked it short!
But as long as your consistant, it doesn't matter. I've done it naked, then with light workout pants, then with jeans--all different weights, and the jeans really added a lot!
Day clothes do make a difference, but I don't worry about still having on a tank top and undies. A winter terry robe would be a different story. It can make a difference exactly where on the floor you put the scale and just where you stand on it, so I try to be very consistent about that.
I only count my weight on the morning of my weigh in day, no clothes, just went to the bathroom and no food in the belly. But if you are weighing with clothes on, be consistent. Do it at the same time of day every week.
Since I go to Weight Watchers, I'm sure they appreciate it more when I weigh with clothes on *lol*
However, I've been known to weigh right before a meeting naked at home, then jump in my car and head to the meeting (It's usually about a 3.5 lbs difference, but that could be the different scales too.)
I think the most important thing to be is CONSISTENT. You weigh in the same manner, in the same spot, wearing like clothing (or none) at the same time and then you are more likely to get a more accurate reading.
For me, that's in the early morning, before food or drink, post potty, before my shower, so I am naked.
