I walk 6 days a week. I try to get in 3-4 miles, but on some days I fall short because of limited time. The most that I have walked in a day is 6 miles. I also try to stay active in my daily activities to get my steps up.
This week, I started adding segments of running to my walks. They aren't far. I probably did a tenth of a mile run during my 4 mile walk today.
I was doing Turbo Jam or some other workout video in the morning in addition to my walks, but then I injured my hip and had to back off a bit. I hope to get back to twice a day soon as my progress has seriously stalled since I stopped.
I take my dog for a walk every morning before work and exercise at home three days a week as its convenient and cheaper than going to the gym. I do about 30 minutes cardio and 30 minutes weights. I find this works best for me.
I'm doing the Wii Active 30 Day Challenge and adding in extras, like tennis & boxing to get myself to about an hour each time. I don't do them on set days, just every opportunity I can because life gets in the way so often that I'll end up with more rest days then I want if I plan on taking one.
I've done My Fitness on the playstation and like the Active better. My Fitness seemed too repetitive & not enough variety. I haven't seen/done the Fit or Gold's. I read that the Active has some of the same components as Gold's, like boxing. Active incorporates stuff with a band, like lateral arm raises, bicep curls & squats/lunges, etc. My friend is doing the Active with me & she switched from the Fit. She isn't a fan of yoga type so preferred the exercises of the Active. I guess it comes down to personal preferences.
