You ladies are all doing so good!!! Keep up the great work!!! I like reading how you are eating and exercises, it gives me good ideas for myself. And it good to know I am not alone in my struggles and triumphs.

today was:
coffee with creamer
herbal tea, red clover today mmmm
gluten free apple snack bar

more herbal tea
the leftover 1/2 meal of chinese we ordered yesterday which was beef and steamed broccoli over steamed white rice

herbal iced tea
2 open face tuna salad sandwiches on gluten free bread
2 large dill pickles dipped in ketchup (don't ask, lol, it was a craving)
2 oz raw almonds
2% milk

I exercised this weekend by thrift store shopping, doing the grocery shopping by myself and chasing after my granddaughter for a few hours today. I was able to stay just under plan and I am anxious to weigh tomorrow and I hope I see a downward movement.

Hello chickies, I'm back (online)! I read through all the messages first cause I missed you guys... :) Ang & Echo - you guys are the sweetest! I was thinking about you and this forum while on the plane.

Speaking of, Vegas is awesome! We arrived at around 10 AM yesterday morning (Vegas time), got our car (stupid renter lady was being a jerk, I really wanted to tell her off. Snoot.), and drove to Mt. Charleston, which is about 45 mins away. We went hiking in the mountain. It was MUCH cooler there, maybe 75F? We went up to 6000 ft elevation before coming back down again. It looks like an even road with slight gradation, but OMG, I was huffing and puffing from the decreased O2. I was asking my hubs if it could be the lack of exercise in the past week that's making me huff and puff like this, I honestly felt like I was 100 lb heavier and that's why I couldn't make it up! Then my breathing adjusted and I was fine, but hubs was in no mood to go all the way to the top and we were both tired from our flight and driving so we came back. We hiked for 1.5 hours, no idea how many miles or if it was a mile even. :p

So we came back and walked around for a bit, then decided to go to dinner. We chose a buffet just to experience it, you know? We both went in with a plan - to taste a LITTLE of everything, that way we'll fill ourselves up and we'll get a nice variety. I ate a lot of the steamed asian veggies, but everything else I took small bites. It was really satisfying!!! I felt SOOOO happy and proud of myself for not giving in and overeating. I was super full too, so I didn't feel like I gave up anything. You know when you eat a smaller portion and then get hungry and then you start to think "man, I hate dieting, I wish I could just be fat so I could eat whatever I wanted and how much I wanted!" For once, I didn't think that and it was a relief.

The trouble started last night. I had ONE skinny crab leg. ONE. I know I'm allergic to shrimp (you know what's coming), but I haven't had a bad experience with crab yet (now you definitely know what's coming). So last night, we wanted to go for a walk on the strip at the night. We were walking and my tummy just did NOT feel good. I could walk and all, but that discomfort kept me from enjoying myself. So we turned back halfway because I really wanted to lie down. I fell asleep soon after we got back and woke up 4 hours later with my face feeling weird. Turns out, the cheek area under my right eye was swollen. I got scared (tonight we're going to a show and I really wanted to take a pic of me in my nice dress) and put some cortizone on it. My lips were swollen as well (definite sign of allergy). Slept for another 4 hours and woke up to go pee and saw that both cheeks AND my lips were swollen. Put cortizone and starting thinking positive thoughts for tonight. It's not as bad now, it's definitely improving, but MAN! I hate being prone to allergies. HATE it. Look how it kinda sorta ruins my trip! :( Anyway, I'm just hoping and praying that it goes down by tonight. How much would that suck to have red cheeks and swollen lips when you're all dressed up? Boo. Ok, my pity party is done. On to a new day... :)

I packed my oatmeal for breffix cause I'm not into eating heavy breffixes (unless I make them). I'm also going to be avoiding seafood for the rest of my life. :p

:hug:to all of you! I've been reading everyone's posts and you're all on plan, way to go!!

Echo - thanks for the encouragment!! You're the greatest!! good job on getting back to 165!! I totally hear you on the self-sabotage. I've done that in the past when I get to 160, which is where I am right now. So, I'm trying to stop myself from eating too much just because I think "I lost the weight, it's all cool now." :^:

I'll check back in later if we have time before heading out to the show tonight. :)

B-Oatmeal, almond milk, flaxseed, applesauce, Trop 50 OJ, fat free creamer = 326 cal.
S-Yogurt; Fiber 1 bar with PB, PB chips, choc chips = 284 cal
L-Amy's meal, Laughing Cow cheese, Wheat thins = 374 cal

Forecasted:
S-Walnuts, Nut clusters, cheerios, dried fruit = 190 cal
D-Special K cereal, almond milk = 292 cal

No exercise today, crazy schedule.

With my juice supplement, and some "moved" calories from a bad day last week, this gives me 1712 (goal 1700 so not bad).

Back from my trip.

DH sent our grown boys and wives and my sis and I to Lincoln to the Husker Game. And then on to the riverboats to gamble!

It was a blast! We did eat and drink our way from one end of Nebraska to the other, but what a good time!

Back on plan today. Got my WW friendly breakfast, lunch and snacks packed. Big water bottle ready to go! Journal right on top of my food in lunch box, pedometer on. :tread:

Even have part of supper planned.

Gotta head to work, bbl.

Sunnigummi 09-15-2009 09:11 AM

Hey all!
Happening - that's great about your drop! :carrot: I can't wait until I get to the low 150s, so I can imagine how happy you must be!!! I used to LOVE shrimp, LOVE it! Now I can't eat it either, but I knew this a couple of years ago. I can't believe my beloved crab turned on me too!! :( I haven't tried scallops, but calamari never seems to bother me. Uh oh. I'm sure I just jinxed myself *knocks on wood*. :)

Echo - Good job on your exercise! I want to try the couch to 5K, but I get impatient and always think "well I'll just skip ahead to the jogging 0.5 mile point" and I get all the way up to 2 miles and then quit. Crazy, huh? I'm sure it's part of that self-sabotage cycle.

Angela - I'm sure your 0.8 increase is from the exercise. You mentioned you were sore, that's generally from lactic acid buildup meaning your muscles were tired. If they're sore hours after exercise, it's the muscles repairing themselves and they can only do this with water. So you're retaining some water that will flush itself out. Just keep doing what you're doing and it will drop! Same thing happened to me and I used to think that maybe I should just cut out exercise, but then I read the sticky at the top of this forum (I think) that explained it all. If you haven't read it, look through it - it's encouraging! At least you know it's not your fault... ;)

Confession time! For yesterday...

Breffix - oatmeal

Lunch - Indian buffet, definitely, most likely overate. They had a big variety so I had a little of each. I was so proud of myself that I only had 1/2 cup rice. I usually overeat rice AND naan. I ate two pieces of naan yesterday, but whatever. They didn't have too many dishes with veggies, which is surprising.

Snack - raspberry sorbet gelato. YUM. Didn't finish the last 2 tablespoons because I was full

Dinner - Mediterranean chicken wrap. Lots of lettuce, fresh tomatoes, cucumber, kalamata olives and chicken with some kind of sauce/dressing. Totally yum!

Exercise:

Er. My pedometer decided to be a jerk and conk out on me, so I have no idea what distance we walked. We did quite a bit though, I would guess 3 miles maybe? We walked up and down on the strip for 3 hours, but it wasn't very fast-paced and we went into many hotels to see their casinos and stuff. Well, it was exercise, my thighs told me so. :p

Will check back in tomorrow - I'm leaving tomorrow afternoon and I'm quite sad. I really like this place. :^:

DogMomNP 09-15-2009 02:13 PM

So far:
Breakfast: Oatmeal with banana, pumpkin, almond milk, flax.
Diet OJ, fat free creamer.

Morning snack: Fiber 1 bar with Smart Balance PB, PB chips, choc chips.

Lunch: Veggies, tomato soup, Babybel light cheese.

My new and temporary goal is to just stay below 2000 per day and NOT BINGE....after I have met that for a while, I will gradually reduce cal and try to eat less refined carbs too (and at some point add exercise back consistently).
I'm adjusting to a new schedule of class in the evenings twice a week in addition to working full time and sometimes more than full time!
