Manatees, thanks for the rice suggestion. Actually my mom mentioned to me but added she had never tried it herself. So I didn't want to just go on that but now that you said you have tried it I wasn't so reluctant to try it. It did feel great on my back.

I have only been taking Tylenol when i feel a headache coming on. It seems even though I didn't hit my head that is what seems to hurt the most. My back is sore but not in pain. Thank goodness.

Hi everyone

Hi everyone. Gennel I loved that dress! and those flowers- I'm so jealous:). Thank you everyone for the support. Today I did 35 minutes on the treadmill on the random program instead of the cardio. It adjusted itself as I walked. So it would adjust speed and incline. I also did the same with the bike. I put it on random and it adjusted the speed and the tension to keep my heart rate at target rate. I've been patting myself on the back, because I rode 10 miles on the bike in 25 minutes!:D WOO HOO for me! I am so motivated an it's thanks to all of you guys and your encouragement. Gennel seeing how well you did at the gym has been one of the things pushing me to succeed with this. Hoping for a good loss let you all know tomorrow. Can't wait to do weights on Monday. Trying to decide if I should make myself go tomorrow, or wait until monday like the trainer said. Take care and I'm crossing my fingers for big losses for all of us. Di

Weigh in

Good morning everyone. Well I lost 3 pounds this week. 2 before I started the gym and 1 since then. I had hoped for more, but I know my body will have to adjust to going to the gym and I may have to increase my calories a little, or at least change some of my food choices. Guess I'll have to give it a little time and see how my body reacts to the weight training, before making any drastic changes. Take care. Di:D

Hello, all!

Well, it's been another exciting week of weigh-ins for me. I'm able to report an additional 0.5 lbs weight lost, so my total since the start is 5.5 lbs, which makes me very happy. I've been up a few pounds some days and was down 2 pounds from here just yesterday, but I knew that was a fluke.

Gennel, I think hubby appreciates all you've done!

Grizzly... You go, girl! Congrats!!!

Kina, glad you're feeling OK.

Good luck to everyone on their weigh-ins!

Kina 07-13-2002 10:50 AM

Good Morning! I am feeling great today and I am looking forward to OP day. I mean ALL day. TOM has an influence on my weigh in today...but I have good news.
June 22 starting weight 206.5
June 29 maintained
July 6 gained 1 lb up to 207.5
July 13 loss 1.5 down to 206 YIPPPPEEEEE for me!
So I am hoping that next week when I weigh in, after TOM leaves, I will have greater results to report.

Thanks everyone. Good Luck to everyone.

Hi to everyone!
I haven't posted in a while and let me say I've found a direct correlation between staying OP and posting DAILY. It really is the support that I get from all of you and maybe the accountability that makes the difference. No loss to report this week, which isn't a bit surprising, but no gain, either. That surprises me a lot!
I hit the DQ twice, last week. Walked only 1 day and overate at dinner 2 or 3 times. Also hit the snack box at work 3 days in a row. One day I was into it twice. Maybe I just needed the wake-up call. I'm fortunate the scale was kind.
WTG Di! It sounds like you're really taking advantage of what the gym has to offer. I'm inspired by your committment. And Kina! Wow. I'm sorry to hear about your fall. I know what a scare that can be, but you still kept up on your excersize. I would have gone "Whew! Now I have an excuse!" As you can tell, I'm not totally committed to an excersize program.
I'm glad you're all here. Even though I fell back this week, I don't feel defeated. I feel accepted and able to say, "O.K. I messed up, but I'm ready to get back on track." Thanks to all.

Hi Jen. I am glad to hear from you again. Yes I totally agree with you that posting daily keeps you honest about your food intake as well as your exercise. The times I don't like to come on site is when I know I haven't done my exercises. So that gets me motivated to do some sort of exercise then come to the site and post. I guess whatever it takes. No, I was surprised by myself as well, I didn't make the pain my excuse to lay in bed with a tub of popcorn watching movie after movie. Although I do make the excuse of mosquitos to not go out to the track. But I miss the track with unbelievable emptiness in my heart. When I pass by the track I say "Don't you worry I'll be there first chance I get." Crazy talk to the track. My husband thinks I am strange talking to the track.

But you have to find a way to get yourself motivated and find a way to turn on and off that craving of snacks switch. I know you can do it.

Hi All

I didn't lose or gain this week but I'm was not surprised. The local fair was this past week so I kind of splurged and I have been at the ball park all weekend. It is also PMS week so the chocolate craving have been bad. I need to start exercising this is very hard for me find the time to do. I did go for a walk with a friend of mine Friday night....I'm guessing 1 1/2 miles. We are going to try and walk each week. We would like to find a time when we could go with out the kids, but it doesn't look like we will be able. If we have to we will go to the high school track and walk and let the older kids play in the middle and push the baby in the stroller. Well good luck to everyone, I can't believe the 4 weeks are almost up.

I'm posting yet another no loss/no gain. I guess I'm not on a diet, but the exercise is going well. (And thank goodness for that or I'd be gaining.)
Jen, I feel better knowing others get off track and still feel positive. There's alot of comfort in knowing that I am not alone!!!
Kina, I didn't read too far back but what's with the frog?? I hope you are feeling better!
Gennel, you are looking great!! I can't tell you enough how inspirational you are. What a great example of how results come with hard work and comittment!
We'll see what next week brings....I'm thinking about a one day fast just to get a little cleaned out and ready for a fresh start. Oh, Gennel I wanted to ask how many calories do you consume per day on a high cal day and on a low cal day. How high is high and how low is low???
Keep up the good work everyone!!

Answer to Apple Blossom..

Appleblossom, I eat about 1,100 or 1,200 calories on my low days and about 17-20 fatgrams on those low days as well. Then the next day I'll have a higher calorie day which is not that high but higher in fat about 1,400-1,600 calories a day and 20-27 fatgrams on that day. I've done this mainly to break out of a mini plateau I was on a few weeks ago! It has worked great ever since. But for about a week now Ive been having about 1,300 calories a day and no more than 20 fatgrams a day. Sure I stick a chip in my mouth once in a while or a spoonful of icecream just to taste it lol. But nothing much after that. When I'm hungry at night I eat an apple or watermelon that I love .Eating high calorie and low calorie should be used for as long as you are getting results. Once you see your weight loss has slowed down then you should change back to your 1,200 calories a day,or a little bit higher.I just mainly focus on how much fat ,sugar or carbs something has.I love carbs and that's theonly thing I cant take out of my meals! Sorry! lol
Manatees and Appleblossom maintaining is something to be proud of as well! I know it sucks when you are not right around the corner to your goal. But really think about it for a minute. What are we going to do once we reach our goal weights???
We're not going out and splurge on pizzas, long island ice teas!
lasagna,Mcd, chocolate! What we will do is eat the same and slowly add a few calories and make sure we work out often enough to burn off those extra calories. Once I reach 130 lbs I will be able to eat around 1,600 1,800 calories a day, just as long as I work out! I wont be terrified eating out , if I want ribs or lobster I can eat it but not everyday. Exercise is sooooo important . I cant say that enough lol.

buh bye now :)

Hello to Everyone.

I was on earlier for a quick show for my mom. I showed her your before and after photos Gennel. Now she is interested in getting one of those Monster elliptical machines. She asked me if you work. I told her I wasn't sure that you had never mentioned work that I noticed. Anyhow she was truly amazed at your achievement. She said you look younger than you did back in February on your before photo. And your dining room is pretty.

Appleblossom****I guess the frog does look a bit sick-huh? I like frogs ever since I was young to remember the phrase "you must kiss many frogs to find your prince". Something my grandma would always tell me after a heartbreak. So it stuck. I have a small collection of frogs that seem to grow. As a matter of fact DH just added one to my collection just yesterday. But yes, thank you, I am feeling so much better. I had started yoga the day of my fall and decided I would take it easy and hopefully the yoga would help me work out the kinks. It sure has I have not been stuck in the bed in pain at all. which is amazing as hard as I fell. I am a bit sore when i get up from a sitting position after being there for so long. But otherwise I am doing wonderful.

Oh and don't get discouraged about your scale. I was getting frustrated with mine. So I had a long one on one talk with it and this morning it moved. In the right direction mind you! But honestly I think the yoga may have something to do with it. Maybe even just changing my routine could of had something to do with it also. But my point is keep at it.

bye. Best of health to all of you.
kinarina
