I'm posting a time! It's not a time I foresee ever matching in the near future, but it comes with a hi
larious story...
I biked to work this morning, no biggie. I planned to go to a stability ball class and then bike home. So I'm walking back to work (it's about 100 feet from the mall where the gym is to the door of my office building) and I see the personal trainer who I had for my complimentary sessions (for getting people to sign up). He says, "I'm going for a run. Wanna come?!?" I say, "How long?" 5K. "Sure!" I was mostly bluffing. We walk to my building, and I realize, "You're totally going to kick my butt, aren't you?!?" But I drop my stuff at work, and off we go. It was brutal! He's so upbeat, even when I got tired and cranky, he was like, "Come on, just 200 metres to go!" But he finally figured out the secret--tire me out until I can't even talk, and I stop complaining.
In the end, our time was
32:30 for 5K, surpassing my previous best by two and a half minutes. However, I know we were going much more slowly then he would have without me dragging him back.

That's okay--he said he likes running with company, and he was very nice about saying I really didn't slow him down that much.
Moral of the story: when you run into a personal trainer, run the other way!!
So, I'm planning to run to work Friday morning, and if I do I'll post my 5K time from that. I know it will be closer to 35:0, but it would be a little more realistic than the time I get when I've got a trainer running beside me.
