Okay. I broke down and got a new scale, $28 on Amazon. I chose it cause it had a lot of good reviews saying it was accurate and consistent, unlike the lousy Taylor scale I have been using. http://www.amazon.com/EatSmart-Digit...pr_product_top

It arrived today, and I put it through its paces testing it out. I know, I know, I'm TOTALLY crazy, but I can't tell you how frustrating it's been not knowing where I am in the 5 pound "range" the Taylor scale gives me!

Okay, so basically, I went back and forth on the old Taylor scale and the new EatSmart scale, trying standing in different spots, shifting my weight to the front or the back, I even tried drinking a glass of water to see if it'd register. The old Taylor said 188.5, then 191.5, then 190, then 192.5. The new EatSmart said 189.0 every single time until I drank the water, and then it said 189.6 every time. YES!! Finally! I've got my official WW meeting tomorrow morning, I'm looking forward trying it out in the same clothes/conditions I normally weigh in, and comparing it to WW's scale. Even if it's not the same, at least I'll know it'll be consistently the same difference!!

Thanks for posting about this scale. I have also been very frustrated with the Homedics scale I bought at Bed, Bath, and Beyond several years ago. Same complaints as others, if I step on the scale multiple times in a row, it will give different readings every time, sometimes up to a two pound difference. On top of that, I always felt like it was reading high in general, especially compared to a dial scale we have that reads 4-5 pound lower than the Homedics scale.

So after reading your message I went over to Amazon and read the great reviews for the EatSmart scale and bought it right then and there. It arrived today and of course I had to test it right away. Stepped on and off it about 5 times and every time it read the exact same weight. Hooray! And almost as good news is that it is reading about two pounds less than my Homedics scale so that is a boost for me mentally. Thanks again for posting about this great scale!

Oh cool! I'm glad that was helpful.

I'm still loving the accuracy of mine, even if it's accurate in telling me I'm not losing much. At least I can't trick myself into thinking I really AM losing!

I remember being able to "fudge" adjust the manual scales!!! ROFLOL. I hate my scale, too. Walgreens $25 special. I think it does work for the major losses, but it is completely useless for measuring water weight or watching for patterns with any accuracy.
