Talking TGIF everyone!

Yeah - it's Friday! I'm a happy girl, except that it is pouring rain outside right now. Oh well, we really need the "liquid sunshine" down here in Atlanta. We are always in the negative when it comes to rainfall and we have outside watering restrictions, so I am glad for the rain. It means I won't have to spend time watering when I get home!!

I was complaining to another friend who is on a low-carb eating plan that I feel like I am plateauing. She suggested that I actually go off my eating plan and then back on. She said that works for her sometimes (even though it sounds crazy!). Well yesterday I ate some Mayfield Moose Tracks ice cream - does everyone have that where they live? I hope so because it is SOSOSOSO yummy!! The good news is that when I weighed this morning I was down a pound!! What's up with that? I think it was just a fluke, don't you? I would be scared to cheat too often because once I start I really have a hard time stopping! Does anyone else have any good tips for when you hit a plateau?

Default Hi TGIF everyone!

Greetings to everyone.
My imput on the "diet cheat" is, its never the same. You can cheat some days, and weeks later it'll show when you've been so good. I'm stuck in a rut, stayed the same for 2 weighins now.
Depressing!

Please offer up a "Prayer" for a little 15 month old member of our congregation (Carly) who the other evening fell into the family swimming pool. The estimation is from 2-5 minutes in the water. Her older brother had unlocked the gate, the family is trying to over come the guilt feelings and deal with her hospitalization and the running of tests. Up-dates as I hear them will come your way.
Thanks in advance for those prayers!

On a HIGH NOTE, my Dh was "Baptized" on Tuesday evening!
Yippee, Glory to God, another member joins His Church. I'm smiling! Our family home is now a united Christian Home!

I wish you all well!
God Bless and enjoy your weekend!

Sister Joanne

Default FRIDAY--FRIDAY

HELLO YOU LOOOOOSERS
Thanks for the concern on my teeth--actually the root canals went well-- no discomfort or pain pills at all!! HOWEVER-- and this happens to me every once in a while after going to the dentist, I get severe stomach pains right across the middle. Usually happens-- if it even does happen--about 2 hours after I am done. My only guess is that it is a reaction to the novacain? It usually lasts 2-3 hours if it comes.
Went to my neice's high school graduation last night, then a little ice cream and cake party-- don't worry ladies I ate enough for ALL of us !! And you know what-- I don't really like ice cream and cake much-- potato chips for me!!
JOANNE- Wow how cool! with your DH becoming a christian- GOOD DEAL!! I will pray for baby Carly, how sad. My wife just lost a dear friend last week-- the friend was an ex teacher friend who chose to be a stay at home mom with 2 and 5 yr. old girls, she went out to get her mail and was reading a childrens magazine to her kids and the neighbor kids in the grassy area by the drive way when she turned to see a car coming backwards-- she yelled at the kids and pushed 2 out of the way before it ran over her and killed her. She was 34, a 20 year old girl had forgot to put her SUV into park and set the brake, she left it in nuetral, her family's house was only 300 feet away but it was on an incline.
AMY- Don't worry about the plateau, just kleep doing what is right and don't worry so much about losing X amount of weight in X amount of time-- just keep plugging along and months from now you will see the overall improvement .

Default I"M BACK!!!

Sorry I didn't want to lose the post and I haven't learned the trick ZOE taught me yet.
WILMA- I am so sorry about your headache-- it is a gift I give my wife quite often! You sound like you need a break like I do-- it has been this way around here the last 5 years or so with all the June B-Days and graduations etc. But ya know-- we really do love them .
SAMI- We fail to follow through because we are HUMAN!! Don't worry girl if you fall off that band wagon just get back on when it passes through again-- life is about living-- not about schedules.
SUE- Have a great week off and try not to over due it at work-- say hi to your wonderfull family from your FC friends.
ZOE and GINNY- Where are you? I know Ginny must be taking a softball break if she can and Zoe just must be up to her ol' tricks
Well gotta get ready for a busy week-end of ALL-STAR softball with step-D starting tonight and try to squeeze in a party for my ex-BIL who just got his first call to be a Lutheran pastor in Missouri-- my ex-MIL is having a big party and a whole bunch of my ex wifes family will be there-- Should be fun-- soo proud of him.
IN HIS ARMS-Gary

I'm here, I'm here!! Happy Friday my friends!! I love Friday nights. To be honest, Saturday is my favorite day of the week. Why? Because I can sleep in (for me, that's 7am), do whatever I want or need to do and when evening comes, I don't have to think about getting up for work the next day. So it's a GREAT day of the week.

I was good again this week. Not perfect today ~ it was a "big 4-0" at work for a good friend so her choice for lunch was Mexican food. I had a taco salad but ate too many chips. I also had a piece of cake but it was SMALL. We had pizza for dinner and even though that isn't too bad in moderation, I feel like I cheated BIG TIME. I suppose I did but I'm not going to get deterred. I snuck a peek at the scale today, 3 days too early and it said that I have lost 9 pounds in less that 2 weeks. I hope I hold that number, come Monday morning after todays down fall so I can post it in my signature. I'm picking myself back up

Sorry I don't have enough time to address everyone tonight but I wanted to say to you Joanne, how wonderful for you that your household is nowa united Christian home. I pray for that day for myself. Please my friends, add my wonderful husband Greg to your prayers, for his salvation. He is so on the non believing side that it's scary sometimes.

Thank you my wonderful friends. Have a great evening. Talk to y'all tomorrow. Nighty.

Default Tattoos...?

Hey....I'm seriously thinking of getting a tattoo and was wondering if there is anything in the bible that would support the opinion that God would be displeased with this choice. I'm a new christian so forgive my lack of knowledge.
Love and Blessings, Bree

Angry TATTOOS

Welcome Bree-- I don't know if I can be much help personally but maybe I can help lead you to someone who can. In Leviticus 19:15 The Lord says "Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the Lord". That at first seems to me we shouldn't, however, this law was for the law to be administered by the Levites along with all the laws in the time of Moses. This law was to keep them from the pagan worship of honoring the dead. Through Jesus Christ we no longer live by those laws.
Personally, I do not have any tattos, however my wife has one on her ankle and another one hidden only for me to see! I am totally against the one on her ankle, and she knows it, she also wishes that she did not have it now, or at least the one she has. My feeling is that if EVERY DAY clothing doesn't cover it you probably shouldn't get one there. In other words there may come times when you wish it wasn't visible and times it doesn't matter. My wife has found this out.
As far as what God thinks, I could only GUESS that it probably is no big deal if it doesn't dishonor HIM. There may be more help for you from the experts on the Christians Online Christian Community Web Site. I have had good success from people by posting my question on the Forumn section, although not ALL the advice is beneficial at times you can sort it out.
Well got a big day of softball and pastor party for my ex-BIL-- have a fun day ladies and BE GOOD TO YOURSELVES! Gary

Hi Bree......welcome ~

On the subject of Tatoos, I agree with Gary that those verses of scripture were written for those times. I, like Gary's wife, have 2 tatoos, gotten PRIOR to becoming a Christian. I will tell you that as a teenager, I just wanted to do it. I didin't get anything that would embarrass me today (1 is a yellow rose, the other a strawberry) but do I wish I didn't have them?? You bet! The yellow rose is on my chest and can be seen when I wear a bathing suit plus, if I wear a white, light material blouse, I can look in the mirrow and think, "oh crud, a spot".....ha...but it's not, it's the tatoo that can be seen as a 'stain', a 'shadow'. I know many people who get Christian tatoos and to be honest, I've even thought of a fish on my ankle. (it's that 40-something in me I suppose).......

I know this probable didn't answer you but I had to put my 2-cents in also.

Good luck with your decision. Just pray about it....God will lead you.

In Christ,
Patti and Zoe

Thank you both so much.....I'm in my thirties and am feeling like a "change" the tattoos I'm considering are in no way offensive...I was thinking of one on my ankle....I'd never thought of not wanting others to see it....good thought!!! Again thank you both for your input.love when people have scripture to go with any question...hehehehehe

Angry Good Morning-

I am in agreement with Zoe, and E.Z. on the tattoo issue. I too have thought about it, but that is as far as I have gotten. Joanne I am happy for you, you must be exstatic. I gotta run on my way to curves then onto camp. I will be gone for a week of sun and fun, if the sun hangs around. Rain rain, go away, come back when its a work day. Ha HA Ha. Havve agreat week.
