Oh Spryng, I am so sorry about your water! You know, I think you need to get on the phone to your local Board of Health... Tell them you are home with 2 small children, that you do not have a vehicle to go anywhere with water, and that your water has been shut off FOR NO REASON and they are taking their own sweet time getting it turned back on!!!! This is a health issue for your family, not just an inconvenience. I would start making lots of noise and see just how quickly they come to turn it back on! I'm not sure if this varies from state to state, but where I live, local utilities such as electricity, water, gas, and even the phone company cannot shut you off if you have children in the house... usually all you have to do is make some sort of arrangement with them. You have a right to be frustrated!!!!
Ginny, thanks for checking in. I am weighing tonight and do not expect it to look good either. But, I need to face where I'm at and go from there. And thanks for letting us know about Sheila... hope everything is ok. Well gang, off to get more work done... gotta run the vac! Talk soon... |
Hey everyone, weekend was ok had a pretty intense work out on Sunday kinda sore now, but i did do my tae bo then weights, feel in control, and great!! Hope everybody is doing good.
Hey Spryng, I am sorry to hear about your water, that is not right, and i agree that you should report that!! They did that to me last year, when they lost my bill in the mail, and I didnt know because I was visiting my Mom, I came home to no water, I was fired up on those people, I do hope it is being turned on soon!! Well everyont TTYL(talk to ya later) lol and TTFN, (ta ta for now) arent they cute? I love writing those, well .. bye bye . |
Hi girls!!! Hope you all are having great OP day!
Okay I've been out of sorts, I admit. So bare with me. Spryng, hey girlfriend. I hate to hear about all the troubles. I'll be putting prayers for you also. Hope you are stocked up on baby wipes. We had a new well drilled last summer and went 2 days with out running water. And as for the finances, hang in there. It gets better. Well so I am told anyhow! How's the "break" been? Are you ready to hop back on anytime soon? What about the potty training? I have one done. Will begin on the other Dd in the next 5-6 months. Ginny, Oh how I missed your posts. Sorry the scale didn't come out the way you'd like. You've been under a great deal of stress. I really have no ideal how you do it. But with the TOM and all, it's nothing to fret. Have you been getting out to walk? I'm begning a new evening tradition here with my gals. We are walking every night after dinner. I got a hiking back pack for the lil one. We all need the release. So do me a favor and try to keep me motivated. You were my inspiration for this! Jackie, How are you? I suffer alot of the same issues as you with the depression. It seems I can always relate. When ever you need a sympathetic ear please pm me. I'm here for you! Oh and the slim fast was just to help me I'm actually gaining a few # back. Don't shreak, I fell below 105#. I didn't know till yesterday. Slimfast makes a soy protein shake full of vitamins and is tastey. It never suppressed my appitite. So I'm having them along with my meals. I would use ensure but they are sooooo expensive. BTW, I'm on a new med. The stress levels have super high here. I talked it over with the doc and I'm taking konzapam. It seems to be helping. Jen, TOM makes us crave bad things. One time I ate 4 snickers bars at once. I "paid" for it too. Hope you are feeling better. I had to give up chocolate. It still kills me to smell it. But I have those sugar free russel stovers chocolates once in while. Ice cream is tough and at this tme of year. Good luck! Judy, welcome. I hope you love it here. Can you tell us more about you? Your diet program, ages of your Dg? I'd love to know more! I'll tell alitte abut me... I'm Misty happily married with 2 Dd's 1 and 3. We live on a farm, raise hogs, chickens, draft horses, rabbits and various other critters. We also grow burley, tobacco. I was low cal diet. Then I got on a great losing streak with tons of exercise and fell at a pretty low weight: 5'3" under 105#. It's under control now. Welcome and it is nice to meet you. Oh and I also respect you for taking care of the Dg. I missed sheila's message but I have her email I'm going to try and get thru to her. Everyone say extra prayers for her okay. T-girl! Are you in Texas? I've been away toooo long! Pm me babe and fill me in on what has been happening. Great BIG WTG with the loss and the tae bo. You are gonna met that goal in no time! Sassypie, it is great to meet you and have another fellow SAHM to vent with. I always feel better after responding to everyone elses posts. It makes me forget all my junk going on. I hope you enjoy it here and keep coming back. I apologize for the poor welcome earlier. I have some depression issues and when I just post short that way I'm usually in a funk. So anyhow. I introduced myself above to Judy, that is for you too. Did I miss anyone? If I did I'm so sorry! It's been soooo long. I apologize in advance. As for me, well I'll try to give you all the shortened version. I had alot of stess on my visit back home. When I thought I was eating poor, I was. It just went in the other direction and continued when I came back to the farm. I'm weighing just under 105#. I knew I was losing alot because nothing fit. But with the house and all the going ons I just let it go. Today I got on the scale and decided I had to get in line. Dh kept the girls, isn't he wonderful, while I ran to the doctor. I'm on a new med along with my old treatment. To help with the anxiety and the stress. So It's getting better. Thanks for putting up with me. I'm off to hike girls! Have a great day!!!! Misty |
Hi everyone, thanks to everyone for welcoming me in to the fold. I should formally introduce myself. I have 4 grown daughters and one grown son. The girls work but really cannot afford daycare. My son is in a better position to afford daycare but drops his son here anyway. Actually it's better to have a family member raising the children instead of strangers that don't care and are only in it for the money anyway so most days I have 6 little ones. one is 7 one is,4 one is 3 years old, 2 years old, 18 months old, and 14 months old. all boys. Most days they are pretty good. I have 3 in diapers yet. My kids come and get them after work, so at least my evenings are peaceful. I am currently following a lowfat diet and count calories. I also eat as much as i can unprocessed, alot of salads, fruit and raw veggies. I also walk 6 mornings a week with my husband, run 3 afternoons a week, and do tae bo 3 days a week. Usually when everyone is napping. I have a friend that will come in and watch the kids while I run, or I take them to the track with me. Picture this a crazy lady running pushing a double jogging stroller because my 3 babies would be crying their eyes out if I didn't take them along. The 3 older kids play in the middle. Yesterday I had to drag them along with me because I had some banking business to take care of, they were all pretty good so we went to McDonalds. The nice thing about having kids so little is that we get to share Happy Meals because they can't eat a whole one. When they get older it will start getting costly. I know I'm going to love this group, I don't have anyone to share frustrations with here, all my friends believe I am being a doormat. I just want my grandchildren to know I love them and are here for them. So that's my story, though it's a long one. Thankyou for letting me share it. I am currently working on my last 30 pounds. I started out at 173, am currently 156, my goal is 125. Judy

Well, as I threatened, I am back!!!!!!!!!!!:o (I know, just what you all were afraid of!!!!!!)
Anyway- Misti- great to hear from you!! Did I read your weight correctly???????? 105#??????? Are you taking care of yourself (dumb question, you already indicated in your post that you were not!!!!) Diet and eating well is such a big part with depression- please eat well and take good care of yourself! Are you taking a multivitamin? That might be a good idea too- the "B" vitamins area very important for mental well being. Latisia- thanks for defining those abbreviations (I saw you use them and figured that sooner or later I would figure them out myself..........never did.......duh...........). Good for you with your major taebo work out! Has the soreness gone away yet? And it sounds as though your eating has been pretty good too. Great for you! Other than that, how are you doing? (If I am prying, please forgive me). I know that you had some difficult issues in your life, and you have not mentioned that at all recently. Just want to make sure that you are ok- and to remind you that you can dump on us here, if that helps. Jen- how did the weigh in go????? You had some great advice for Misti. Thanks you wise lady! Spryng- Gosh, I wish I could reach thru this computer and fix all your financial woes! (very frustrating that I can't). Are you and Dh on a budget? Do you have a good handle on where all your money goes? No, I do not need the answers to those questions.......I just wanted to tell you that a lot of people kiss away lots of money on incidentals that they are really unaware of........Like if you had a $3.00 a day Starbucks habit.....but somehow you do not sound like that kind of person at all. I can recommend a web site- Crown Ministries- (www.crown.org, I think). I will warn you- it is a Christian organization, but they have some excellent budget software and great advice on how to save money. You can even subscribe to their online newsletter (and they will not harass you too much for donations) for free. You might want to check it out. What I appreciate about them is that they are just so down to earth- real life advice for real life people. And I will keep you in prayer. Jackie-Hey, how come I never get one of those "check message" warnings? Don't I blabber enough? Congrats on your 4th anniversary without the PO!!!!!!!!! You, my cohort in burnout- fellow overloader of the schedule! (aw, I'd rather be busy than bored) I am confident that you will peddle off those 2 # that crept back on in no time! Hope that your day went well, as you have not checked in as yet. Judy- I sure hope that you stay with us! This thread is getting a bit long- (3 pages) and usually at this length one of us starts a new thread, bumping the number up one. I would do it now, but do not want to lose you in the process. If noone beats me to it, I will do that tomorrow. As for me, life is busy (so what else is new?). Kids need rides all over the place, I attempt to keep this house neat.....make the meals etc.... Softball season is starting to wind down (yes!) although there are probably 2 weeks left. The last regular season game is Thursday. School prom is Friday........ On a brighter note, someone gave Dh tickets to the NY Mets for Saturday's game, and I am looking foward to that! (wonder what a good idea it is going to that with these terrorist warnings? hmmmmmmmmm) I know the Mets stink the past few games- but it is a nice day away. (We live in a rural part on NY State- about an hour and a half from NYC). Oh, I guess I should go out and get a new scale. I got back on it this afternoon (to shock myself out of some nasty stress eating) and found that I weighed 157- (not the awful number I saw this morning). Ok, 157 is not svelte but, this is PMS week and I was fully clothed- so it sounds as though I might not have gained anything. I think the scale is hormonal- and maybe needs a permenant vacation. Ok, I have babbled enough for tonite. See ya tomorrow!!!!! Ginny |
Gosh, Judy you snuck in here while I was foaming at the keyboard! What a blessing you are to your family! I am indeed impressed! I am glad that you feel comfortable with us here- you seem to fit right in like an old timer!
Gotta go iron an shirt for Dh for tomorrow! Have a great nite. Ginny |
Good morning!!!!!!
I had to turn on the computer to make one last change on the official Robert Louis Stevenson report (due tomorrow). So I thought I would check in and see if anyone had stopped in to say hello. No walk for me this am yet- I was up too late last nite and decided to sleep in (if you can call sleeping to 5:45 sleeping in). I will check back in later after everyone is at school and after my walk. Have a great morning! Ginny |
I M BACKKKkkkk
But I think I will starta new thread this one is just wayyy to long
See ya on the new one Sheila |
Good Afternoon!
I thought I'd better check in today so that Ginny doesn't have to worry about me. I'm doing pretty good staying OP, but haven't exercised since Saturday. I've been so... busy & still no sight of it slowing down! Mentally, I'm still struggling. I'm really starting to think that I may have to change the meds I'm on. I'm still fighting the depression, have tons of headaches, very aggrivated & the worst part: I'm losing my short-term memory. :( It's so bad that I don't remember one of my favorite moms watching her dd in dance class with mine. I thought that it was last year & this year is just about over! I did remember a few hours later & she was missing quite a bit lately due to complications with her pregnancy. This may have something to do with stress, but I really believe it's the meds doing this to me. (I'll call the Dr.) Ginny: I did leave a post earlier yesterday, perhaps you missed it. ;) I hope you enjoy the Mets game & stay safe. Don't worry about your weight issues, as PMS can get the best of us! I sure wish I weighed 157#! Hopefully, it won't be long & I will weigh that "little". Glad to hear that your dd's softball is winding down. Is she taking a break this summer? Let us know how her prom night goes & the details about her dress! Judy: When you said you were busy babysitting the grand-kids, I didn't visualize 6 or 7...I was thinking maybe 2! And to be such an active granny, you go girl! I'd love to see you @ the track. Congrats on the weight that you have already lost! You're doing a great job. Misty: Thanks for asking how I'm doing. I actually didn't have too bad of a day yesterday if I balance it all out. DH & I were able to spend some "quiet" time together for a few hours,so this was a plus! I'm sorry to hear that you're in the same boat as I. It sure was nice of your dh to take the kids for a few hours. Hopefully your doctors appt. was a successful one. Keep us informed, ok? As for your weight issue: Would you like for me to send a few of my #'s your way? I'd be more than happy to! Well, I'd better get going & get some housework done. I hope this went to the right # thread, as I started this @ 5:30 this a.m. & just had the time now to finish it. I actually had to alter it from "Good Morning" to "Good Afternoon"! See yah later gators! |
Hi, It's Me Again!
I just noticed that I missed Spryng in my posts. I'm so sorry Spryng! I sure hope that your water is turned on again! We have a well out by us, so no water bill to cut us off. When we have an electrical storm, we lose power quite frequently & then we're doomed sometimes for days, so I know what it's like! Last summer I went two days without a shower & I felt so grubby. I decided to take a plunge in the kids swimming pool to wash my hair. As soon as I finished, I heard our garage door go up, which was a sign to me that we had power again! Go figure!! I once had my phone disconnected when we first got married because I was using my old checks with my old phone # on them, which was my mom's phone #. The silly phone company had the stub from the bill, but went by the number on the check instead, probably because the last names didn't match up to my bill. When my mom got her next phone bill, she noticed that she had a "credit" on her bill & this is how I figured out what happened! I sure wish I could have sent some water your way, as I'm quite used to this. My Mom comes over every-other day & fills up 3 gallons of water for drinking at my house. We have a mermaid filter on our cold water intake, so this is why she comes for mine. Her water is really rusty & gross! I'm probably going to PM you, so be on a lookout for one, okay? Not much else is new with me. I'm peddlin' while I'm typing right now. I rigged something up so that I can almost type as fast as typing regularly. I have to pedal off the "naughty" Turtle Sundae that I had tonight. :o Other than that, I'm pretty good with staying OP. I just bought a whole bunch of new Morningstar veggie entree's last night. I now have quite a variety of "veggies" in the house, with little or no protein. Not much else is new with me, so I'll close for now. Have a great evening everyone! |
Hi everyone, I have been trying to catch up on all of you so that I am up on your issues. got up at my usual 4:15 to take my walk with Bob. That hill is getting easier to climb. Just had the 2 year old baby today. Good thing, because he still has the bug. Yesterday he threw up all over my couch. Isn't it amazing, they either get the furniture or carpet. My daughter Cara and I talked about trying to potty train him, but I guess he's not ready. I hate to make this an issue, or he will be traumatized and will never be ready. So for now we suggest the toilet, and end up changing him. Tomorrow I have the whole gang, so it will be busy. Today was supposed to be my running day, but Clare couldn't come, and I wasn't going to take a sick baby out. At least I got my walk in though. The rest of you seem to be doing a great job. my positive thoughts go out to the person who is suffering from PMS, I did that for years, I found out I have a severe grain allergy. Seven years ago I was diagnosed as a celiac. Before then the doctors thought I was a hypchondriac. After I started eating non gluten foods I started gaining alot of weight. My sympathy goes to the person who got her water shut off, though I guess it was a mistake. Still very inconvenient. I had my gas shut off once in the winter. That was very frustrating, We had to use space heaters, and my oven in the kitchen. I did pretty good with my eating today, only slipped up once and indulged in some corn chips. I'll get to know you guys better as time goes on, have a great night. Judy

Oops!
We're supposed to be in thread #46 when posting. Somehow Judy & I got lost over here. Let's hop to #46, okay? |
Hi Everyone,Well today was a busy day. My 2 year old is feeling better today. Had the whole gang, it was a beautiful day today, so they spent most of the time outside. I got my walk in today, and managed to get in my Tae Bo when they were napping. I am reading an interesting book by John Bingham. It's called (No Need For Speed) and it supports everything I have ever thought about running. The one thing I appreciate about him, is that he makes you feel you can do it no matter how out of shape you are. I decided I am going to just redo the dressers I already have. To get what I want would cost me far too much. With a little elbow grease I can make these nice. Hope everyone had a nice day, talk to you soon, Judy
