I have been using Sparkpeople, but signed up for TDP a few hours ago after reading about it in another thread. It seems to have more info and tracking features, but I have not figured out how to adjust to smaller amounts than those listed. Mine went directly to the livestrong thing too. It seems more complicated than SP, but maybe I will get used to it. I am going to both for a few days so I can see if I like the statistical info on TDP better than Spark.
Heather, when you enter a food you eat, there is an amount for servings, and that is usually 1.00. You can click on the 1.00 and it will allow you to enter the new info, such as .5, or .75, or however much you've eaten. Is that what you meant?
I Love The Daily Plate...it helped me lose 40lbs over 2 years ago..but circumstances in life took over and I stopped tracking my foods and I gained most of my weight back....I just started again, faithfully tracking since Dec 29. I love the accountability. I tried keeping in my head or writing it down but I have found with me by logging all my foods it keeps me more honest.
I did TDP for a while then switched to just journaling on a notebook Now Im back to TDP
I like it so much better than fitday
Everything Ive ever searched is already in there no adding stuff.
Ive only had to add one item and that was b/c I wanted it to be set as a certain serving size.
If your on and off the computer all day anyway then I think TDP is the way to go. If not a notebook may be of better service to you.
I use it every day, and my nutritionist checks my meals for me once a week and sends me an email with suggestions. Pretty cool. My user name is healthytoad and the link is in my sig. I like it better for tracking but sparkpeople has a great recipe calculator, so I end up using both.
