Hello everyone!

I'm new here thought I would say hello, Ive read this entire post and see there are alot of nice people with the same ambitions as myself. I can see myself really liking this forum. I started my journey January 4 2009 at 313.8 lbs I have since made it to 271.0 lbs, so about 43 lbs so far. I'm quite happy with my results but i still want to lose about 80 more pounds. Well it's time to go to a family gathering so I'll talk to you all later.

Thanks for the nice welcome. I found the site on a google search for weight loss message boards, this was the first I went to and it seemed like a good place. As for my methods all I have done is stop going to fast food joints (I really think they were going to be the death of me) I go to the gym 4 times a week. So far my gym time has only consisted of 1/2 hour on the recumbant bike, which I know I need to do more but I'm working up to that. My wife and I have been eating alot of fish and chicken for dinner and for breakfast I have a bowl of cereal with some almonds and skim milk a glasss of oj and some times a banana or a yogurt. Lunch I have a Sandwich either Turkey or tuna with a granola bar. I'm not a colorie copunter so I don't know what my calorie intake is, which is something I would really like to know how to do. Now that the weather is getting nice my bike rides consist of about 24 miles. I'm really glad I found this board it seems very informative and friendly. Thanks again for the welcome. I'm off to go do some reading.

Welcome Steve. Check out the "Calorie Counters" Forum. I lurk there every so often. A lot of really good info there. Also, check out the "Exercise Forum". Most of them girls could kick a full grown boar's a$$.

Hi Steve,

Welcome to 3FC. I am not a calorie counter either but if you are inclined, you can track your food intake online, either at www.fitday.com or www.dailyplate.com. The benefit of doing this is that the site will break it down for you so that you know what's the percentage of carbs, protein and fat in your diet.

Have fun!

Default hello everyone!!!

Hello everyone!!!

This is my first day to be a member and this is my first post!!! I was thrilled to find a board for just guys!!! I searched everywhere on the web and couldn't find any!!

My Fiance has been a member on here for at least three months and loves it!! I'm so excited to get started and to meet people fighting the same fight I am.

My story--- I have been overweight my entire life starting at age 6 yrs old. five years ago I decided to lose weight and I did it. I started at 325 and I got down to 250. (still overweight but I was happy) I then moved to florida in 2006 and it was downhill after that!! I met the love of my life Tiffany in 2007 and then the weight really started adding up. I peaked at one time at 402 lbs!!!! That was scary and I just started to cut back a little and then got it back to 276- 280 lbs. Then Tiff and I decided to do something about our weight for ourselves and for each other. We decided to weight to get married till we get to our goal weights!! we started DEC. 9, 2009 and it has been a great journey since then. I'm currently at 309 lbs and am excited to be at that weight(I know I'm crazy)

She has been getting support and help from fellow members on here and I thought I should do the same. For the last month I have been on a plateau and going from 315- 309 all month!!! I'm hoping to get real serious this week and get the momentum started once again!! I want to get to 230 as soon as possible to marry the love of my life!!!

Again HELLO TO EVERYONE!!! I will be posting on here alot I'm sure!!!!

Default well howdy

Well Howdy Men! Haven't been on here for a while but I am back home. Been doing some traveling. This time I didn't eat out and eat bad food. I brought my own and when I did eat out I went to a grocery store 2 times and bought fruit and ate at the salad bar.

Thats my hardest time to stay on track, when I am on the road.

A belated welcome to the new men on Men's Forum!

The weather here in Virginia is great! I look forward to taking my bike out on the bike trails this weekend! As long as it doesn't rain!

Also I started wearing my pedometer and I am surprised that I can walk 10,000+ steps easily a day (thats including running on the elliptical machine daily!)

Thumbs up Before Sunrise

Good morning, flatiron,

Yay for the roosters being up before the sun!!

Congrats for the good eating on the road; that's a hard time for me also.

My Milestone yesterday was to finish off the two pound jar of whey protein powder and start on the new 5 pound jar. It's a rewarding marker for me since I only do one scoop when I do weights so it's a marker for going to the gym.

I finally found the mens thread. haha. Hi guys, my names Joshua (obviously) and I've kept off 100 pounds for two years now. I'm currently trying to bulk up and gain some muscle weight this summer+. You can read my full story in my blog with before/after pictures.
