Red face New to this site and have some questions

Hi I'm Cyndi, 40 yrs. old and about 60 lbs overweight. I have gained most of my weight in the last 10 yrs with having 2 kids and busy schedule. I do not want to lose weight with drugs but I do need a little push, I know it is gross but does a colon cleanse and detox get you on the right track and does anyone know if Acai Berry pills really work?

As for colon cleanses/detox, your body can detox itself. You can help it along by following a healthy diet and eating lots of fruits and vegetables.

Acai Berry is an fruit with a high antioxidant level, there are many other food items that have high antioxidant levels such as tea and blueberries. I've never heard any 'pills' of high antioxidant pills providing the same antioxidants as ingesting the food item. Also antioxidants don't help you lose weight but they are beneficial to your overall health.

Really what *works* best is eating healthy and staying within a certain calorie allotment and exercising. Starting out on a healthy plan and sticking with it is a great *push* in and of itself.

I'm with Robin and Nelie.

What works best for weight loss, and what "detoxes" your body best, is starting on a healthy eating and exercise plan. Everything else is just gimmick and marketing, and even if it does result in a loss on the scale, it isn't a -fat- loss so much as water you'd eventually drop anyway.

Plus, eating healthy and exercising are cheap! What more could you ask for?

Cheap AND it's something you can do longterm. Forever, in fact. Which is really what we're looking for. No quick fixes. Because in the end, they're not so *quick*, since you usually wind up having to *start* all over again, since their affects are not long lasting.

i've never understood..colon cleansing...i'm a medical professional..and here's the deal with colon...everything is "Dumped" into the colon on the way out. There's no way you can "detox" you body by a colon cleaning..it will empty on its own anyways. I agree with all those others...just start the healtly clean eating..and it will work. And definately don't skip the exercising.

i dont know from actuly taking them..
but my wife.. who just started a new plan..

did a cleanse..

she bought aciberry and some colon cleanse stuff. in green bottles

that alltogether cost about 400$ ( includign the 2nd bottle of aciberry that we didnt order but paid for anyway that cause ed to cancel her debit card becasue the compnay she bough it from cancled the phone number that was listed with thier credit card machine. so the bank more or less called it fraud( whew that was a long parenthesis ))

i have not heard her compliment the purchases. and have noticed no exterior signs of success.

when i spoke with her about it yesterday she said " it cleaned sumthign out " i can only imagine she meant her debit card..

the comercials say it works..

good luck.... in your choice though.

It's good she can still have a sense of humor about it. That is just awful.

Smile Thanks everyone

I want to thank everyone who replied to me. I am not sure though if I should get a bottle of fiber pills and eat high fiber foods or just to one of those options for now... don't wanna be in the bathroom too much. I am glad I found this site and I hope to share my success with ya'll.

No need to take fiber pills. EAT foods with lots of fiber. They are weight loss power houses. And don't forget to drink lots of water. Fiber expands in the stomach and therefore you'll need more water.
