Then the other websites you've been to are not good for support...

People here are here to give and receive support and information. No one will get on your case about anything... not even if you were to eat a whole pizza... they would say it's not a good idea and talk to you about alternatives, but no one will yell at you or get on your butt about it.

I am not the best person to respond to this... I just wanted to say that you're in the right place if you want good, helpful and encouraging information. It looks good to me, though I think the calorie intake is supposed to be 1800 or less... don't quote me on that though.

Yes, you have a calorie deficit. If calories burned - calories eaten is a positive number, you have a deficit of that amount.

What you eat will determine how efficiently your body BURNS calories, but once you have that "calories burned" number, you can compare it to your intake and figure out about what your deficit is.

also, one thing to note...when determining calories burned...make sure you are using a computer program or other methods other than the read out on the machine. Most people do not realize that the calorie counters on the treadmill or elliptical are inaccurate. But yes, if you've burned that much, then you are at a defecit.

Also, you may need to actually up your calories if you are truely burning that many calories. I would give it a few days, and if you feel hungry or tired, you may need to eat just a bit more. Good luck!

Then were not very good for support. People sometimes get on your a** here too, but they do it out of love. I found that out first hand... I got very upset the way some people responded to a comment I made, but I eventually realized it was because they cared and wanted to see me (as well as everyone else here) succeed at what we are doing. If they are "hard" on you ( and some of them will be annoyingly honest at times ) it's because they are trying to help.

Um, how do you burn so many calories? I must really not be doing something right. I can't seem to burn more than about 1500. =0)

Yes, that would put you in a calorie deficit ... BUT ... I have to ask how you know you've burned that many calories. Especially "as of 3 p.m." That's an extraordinary number of calories to have burned before the day is even 2/3 over.

At your height/weight, with no exercise, your BMR is around 3000 calories per day. Add in 30-60 mins of moderate exercise and you could probably add another 600 cals to that.

So having burned that many calories only by midafternoon seems unlikely.

Just my immediate thoughts on reading your post.
