  • Hi everyone,

I made a delicious veggie lasagna tonight all by myself. For a noncook, I followed this recipe and it turned out delicious:

    http://www.dottisweightlosszone.com/...anlasagna.html

For a total 8.5 points. My count for today is 26 points. Yippee. I got to eat subway and lasagna too. Creativity is the secret to keep on going. I love sub sandwiches from another restaurant--sub paradise. The subs are huge. I figured if I ate a half of sandwich with soup or small salad. It'll satisfy my hunger for these truly delicious sandwiches and save money too. We'll see how it works out.

Thankyou, Baylee for the websites. I'll have a look and give it a whirl.

Congratulations Tina. Weigh to go. Soon you'll see the 2's. I glimpse 220 on the scale. Let's just say it's within my reach.
Please let me know how you got the gif in your post.

My doggie, Mikey, is on the rampage. Eating paper, slippers, now it's rubber stamps. I think he wants some attention. I'll see ya soon.

    Take care,
    Malia
  • Good morning everyone!

Tina I just want to say...YOU GO GIRL! You are inspiring me! I want to catch up to you!! Do tell us what you are doing and what you are eating...where in your point range etc etc etc!!

Malia..see, you can have your cake and eat it too. Just not all of it in one sitting! Creativity with your food is important so you don't get bored eating the same things over and over again!

2Cute...have fun with Mom and Dad...we will be thinking of you!

Mary you are a busy little bee!

Kat...tanned arms..hummm....I use to have tans! Now I am as white as a ghost! I will be off this summer hopefully...so I will start working on that tan...I know my son loves to be outside all the time so I am sure I will be too! Congrats on the shirt fitting properly! Those are such big accomplishments!

Baylee...I will have to check out that website...I am always looking for something different and interesting to cook. I love to cook!

Well ladies, sorry this is so short but I want to get started on the rest of our bedrooms this morning before I lose my momentum! It is suppose to get to 94 degrees today. Yesterday hit 90! Then I am off to get my prescription for my allergy meds...its that time of year. Actually its all year long but worse right now!

Have a great day...and remember...before you put that bite into your mouth ask yourself...am I really hungry or just thirsty? Do I really want this food more than I want to be thinner? Hummmm...words to ponder!!

I'll be back! (Famous last words)
  • Hi everyone! Just checking in because, quite frankly, if I don't KEEP UP, I can't CATCH UP!!!

I am on day 3 of this new lifestyle. My fish for dinner last night tanked! I guess it just doesn't pay me to plan. I had it out and thawing and then had to work a job late. #1 son says, "Tuesday is Subway night" and I lost it! I told him to throw the salmon in the fridge and I would bring Subways home with me from my job. I'm soooooo easy! Geeesh!

I took #2 son out for Chineese for lunch. But I still worked out ok since I didn't do any snacking. Pulled that one out of the fire.

I'm taking mom to a card party tonight. They're supposed to serve sandwiches, so we'll see what kind of choices I can make there. I had a Subway for lunch today and now will just snack on fruit for the rest of the day.

We're going to our favorite B&B this weekend, did I tell you all that already? Sorry, my Alzheimer's is kicking in again. (For any of you that might take offense to that remark, please don't. My father had it and so I say it often. It helps me to joke about it, because it could so very likely come true.) Woah, that was a downer......sorry!

I think I got all the wet stuff out of my laundry room. I even had to re-wash the bassinett skirt I had boxed and put away from when the kids were little. What alot of extra work I didn't need.

I have a couple of jobs to do this afternoon, but I want to respond before I go.

2cute: I bet you are sore from all the moving stuff you've been doing lately. But just think how great it all looks. It was worth it, you know it was! Hope you have a safe trip to visit your folks. * Good for you grabbing the Special K. You're right, it was better than stopping for fast food. That is one of my biggest downfalls when I'm in a hurry and on the run.

Baylee: You sound like me when my DH is out of town. I just can't function. If you think you're dealing with Depression, go get checked. My best friend was really not herself (that's being polite) for the last year or so and finally I asked her if she had considered suffering from Clinical Depression. I encouraged her to go see the doctor and all the symtoms fit. She's now been on meds for 3 weeks and is feeling a world of better.

Michelle: Glad the ambition bug is rubbing off. I wish it would rub on me too. Lord knows this house needs some help, BIG time!!

Tina: Another 3#'s, awesome! You are doing so well. I'm so proud of you. And.......I think you're rubbing off on me, I'm on day 3 of my new lifestyle.

Mary: You are one busy beaver, on the go all the time. I hope you're enjoying yourself along the way!

Katrina: Your Tuesday Tip was great! We do have to learn that just because it's a treat, doesn't mean we can't have it, just count it and go. We have to get past the looks and stares we get when there's ice cream in our shopping carts. Congrats on raiding DH's closet. That must make you feel GREAT!

Malia: Sounds like Mikey wants a walk on the beach. Dottis' is always great for recipes. Syn is always good for recipe websites, I'll have to see if she's around to lend some assistance.

Well girls, gotta go. I'm off to work and then home to wash up before heading out for the evening with my mom. Hope you all have a great day! Love to all!

"Where there is great love there are always miracles." - Willa Cather
  • Hey where in da heck is everybody today!??

I just came back from the dr.'s and got a prescription for zyrtec for the allergies. Hope it works! I also had my cholestoral checked and my blood sugar and they are both perfect! Surprise surprise! Good old WW is good for something besides losing weight!! I think they were surprised at the results...I guess heavy people can't be healthy people too!

Thin...you can cook the fish and have it in the fridge to eat later. I had the best poached salmon served cold at a luncheon last year. Maybe there is a recipe around somewhere. I usually grill my salmon with butter spray and dill weed. Sooooo good! subway is good for learning to eat healthy! Did you count your points and go? We can eat out and still lose weight!

Well I need to clean off this desk now and do the windows in this room then it will be complete! I still have some laundry to do...I hate doing laundry! Use to like going to the laundromat because it all got done at once!

    Come and post you all!
  • 2 words for tina...
    YOU ROCK!

Wow! Girl, you are on a losing streak of the highest order! I am so proud of you!

I weighed and measured today...I'm a little disappointed that there wasn't a more dramatic difference, but anything off is off, right? I wasn't really too confident in the way she was measuring me either...so I will get a set for myself, at home, buck naked in front of my mirror...if that isn't enough to motivate me, I don't know what is!

Anyway, for all my efforts, I lost a grand total of 3 1/2 inches, I GAINED a pound on the scale, but I LOST a pound of body fat. I suppose I looked disappointed, because Judy (the owner), was trying to be all reassuring, telling me stuff that was supposed to cheer me up, etc...and to tell you the truth, I really was OK...I know that I have been doing well and will see significant results soon....actually already seeing some differences now...so I won't resort to the old attitude of..."Oh well, if the scale isn't going to change anyway, why bother?"

It is 6:30 pm and it is 92 degrees!!! My wonderful dh put the AC on while I was sleeping, so I can only guess how yucky it is outside...I did step out briefly, enough to know that it is not humid, so how bad can it really be? I'll soon find out, going to do a little watering...

    see you later...

  • Congrats to all you OP people.

Thin Alias “Blue Bra Lady” I LOVE the Oprah quote. It is so true.

Baylee How was the weather for you? It was scary here for about 15 min last night but wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be.

Michelle What is Kielbasa and cabbage soup?

Kat: I love mowing too!!!! My family thinks I should be put away I also love raking and yoga – we must be sisters.!!!!Yeah 3 ˝ inches GONE!!!!!

Tina I am so happy for you! “2”’s here you come !!!!!!

I feel so disgusted with my body that you would think I would be dieting up a storm…BUT!!!!!!! Then again maybe it's good....I usually never looked at myself in the mirror (except my head) so I went on oblivious to what my eating was doing. At least now I SEE what it has done and can only hope it will trigger something in my brain to spring into action.
  • Hi everybody,

Welcome Theresa. Join in, we love fresh insight. Keeps us hopping.

Some of you are experiencing hot weather. I thought Hawaii was hot at 82 degrees, but 92 degrees. Wow. Our wonderful tradewinds are back, so it's perfectly comfortable.

I'm on my second day of 1200 calories. I'm trying the rotation diet. 1200 calories for 3 days, 1500 calories for 4 days, then 1800 calories for a week. Repeat once again, then vacation. It worked for me 12 years ago. Hopefully it works again.

I went to the movie, clockstoppers, today. It had quite a bit of special effects. I liked that part. The movie season begins

Kat, I succumbed and bought spongebob, patrick, and gary pillows. Crazy woman. But I look at them and laugh, it's working its magic on me.

Tomorrow is Thursday. Weekend's almost here. Countdown--one week until the girl comes into the new job. I have to review my training notes. It'll be different. I hope she doesn't start training me, she has that reputation.

    Sweet dreams,
    Malia
  • About to fade away............
Hello ladies........I am so tired, it is unbelieveable. I have to keep squinching my eyes open and shut to keep them from blurring over. I got two hours of sleep yesterday and another two hours today and I'm about to pass out. It is a little after 4:00am right now and I have to get the kids up in 3 hours for school. Why do I do this to myself?! What's wrong with me? I have slept 4 hours in the last 48 hours and it looks like tomorrow will be more of the same!! I'm going crazy! I went to bed Tuesday morning (after I got off work at 7:00am) between 10:30 and11:00 and then my husband got me up at 12:30 and I stayed up all day that day and then went to work Tuesday night and stayed up all night and came in and went to bed this morning (Wednesday) about 9:00 and was woke up AGAIN at 11:00 and have been up all day and as you can see......all night. Do any of you want to buy a husband......real cheap?! He's pretty handy about the house, but if you like to sleep, (and apparently I don't) then he is not the man for you! However, I guess I should be thankful for something....I am finally off of 3rd shift! That is one highpoint of this week.....knowing that Tuesday was my last night. Anyways, I am honestly about to fall asleep.....no joke. so I will go for now.....just had to vent for a minute. You guys are so great. Welcome Theresa! You've come to the best thread in the world. to you guys and see you sometime tomorrow, cause Lord knows I'll be awake!!
  • Good morning!

I thought I might get to sleep in a bit but NOOOO...baby boy had to wake up just as his daddy went out the door to work! Uhggg!
I am tired just like TINA!! 'Cept I got more sleep then she did.

Tina...hope you get to catch up on your beauty sleep today. No thanks on the husband deal...one man in my life reaking havoc is enough!! I am so proud of you!!

Theresa...welcome to the best group in the world. As you can see these gals are soooo supportive and enthusiastic. THey make you want to succeed! I just love it here! Sometimes I have to prod them out with my poker stick but they always show up just when I need them most! Everyone gets so busy at times but they are here for you!

Malia how much did you lose on the rotation diet in the past. I don't know if I can count calories...I have been counting points for so long now! John looks at me like I have two heads when I start talking points!

Lucky...Kielbasa is like a smoked sausage. It goes good with cabbage! Its a Polish thing! My ex mother inlaw use to make the kielbasa and cabbage only her's was way to fattening! This recipe I have was in the WW cookbook.

Mary for that 270 calorie breakfast you had you could have had a two egg veggie omelet with toast and a piece of fruit!! I like volume when it comes to food! Its a mental thing I guess...feeling like I got something for my money!

Kat you are doing great...yes, its true, we have to get our mindset off the scale. As long as you are making healthy choices for yourself the rest will come in time. I know for the most part my choices are working for me right now...especially since I got great results on the cholesterol and sugar tests yesterday! Now if I could just get walking it would start to fall into place for me! Its just been soooo hot out there...95 yesterday and 92 today!

2Cute...are you back from your visit yet?

Susie, Thin, Baylee, and Jen....where is Jen!? Come out and visit for a bit...or I'll get my hot poker stick out and poke you all out of the corner! LOL

    Have a great day today...Michelle
  • Good Morning Everyone:wave

Tina- Now that you're off the night shift, your body will adjust, and the zzzzzzz's will come much easier! You made me laugh when you asked if anyone wanted to buy a husband cheap I wonder if my hubby would like to sell me cheap He works night shift, and I am guilty of waking him up at times, as your husband did. Think maybe I should let him sleep?

Malia- I'd love to trade weather with you!! It got up to a very humid 87 degrees here yesterday.

Michelle-Aren't little ones fun I know they have their way of changing our schedules! How old is your little one? I have one son that just turned 13, but he thinks he's 21.

I want to thank everyone for making me feel so welcome here!! I usually am up and fixing something to eat that I shouldn't at this time, but instead, I jumped on the computer this morning before work for a good dose of motivation!!! Now...that is a switch for me!!!! I have already drank 16 ounces of water this morning too......that's almost scary.

It's that time of day to get ready for work, and wake my son up for school. Wonder what excuse he'll try on me this morning, hoping I will give in to let him stay home?
    Doesn't matter....it won't work!!!

    Have a GR8 day!!

    Theresa
  • Welcome Theresa....

Once again I think us Minnesotans will win the crazy weather award.

It was 82 on Monday and now they say it night SNOW tonight!!!!
"Windy and much colder. A 40 percent chance of rain...mixing with or changing to snow. Lows around 30. Northwest wind 20 to 30 mph." CAN YOU BELIEVE IT....

Malia I will never get to uncover my roses.
I suppose yours are blooming beautifully.

Maybe I can make some good out of this weather and blame it for my "lack" of determination to diet.

    Well, off to work....
