Note To Self re: Weighing Food

Self, when you very carefully measure your serving of cheese to make sure you have exactly an ounce ...

And Self, when you gently trim off the extra bit of cheese that is making it go over an ounce ...

Self, do NOT then pop that sliver of cheese INTO YOUR MOUTH and eat it while packaging up the rest of the cheese and putting it back into the fridge.

Perhaps someday you'll listen to yourself. Perhaps.

:D

If you listen to yourself, then I will listen to myself

I just pretend it was a little mousie that came by.

A good reminder, that.

PhotoChick, the more I read your posts, the more I realise you are my US twin.

That is SO something I have done! Er, I mean, would do ... :o

I admit that this is why I tend to use a shredded cheese blend when I add cheese to things. I keep it in the freezer and measure out what I need (usually directly onto the item already on the scale). That extra bit goes easily back into the bag and back into the freezer.

Oh good, you only mentioned cheese, not peanut butter. So I didn't do anything wrong tonight when making my peanut sauce ;). Phew.

mandalinn82 09-30-2008 11:35 PM

I was -just- going to mention peanut butter. Leveling off the tablespoon and LICKING THE EXTRA OFF THE FINGER doesnt really save calories.

Yeah. I've never done that either. Ever.

*whistling and looking around*

Could you explain that easily part? Doesn't it just as easily pass by the lips on the way to the mouth, oops bag?

Laughing so hard!!!! You mean, it is not just the thought that counts? How about those good intentions, don't they burn calories just due to their dietary holiness? Really- I KNOW that just all of the food planning I slave over MUST burn SOMETHING off, right? HeeHee.

 I love it. I think I'll burn some calories lying in bed tonight thinking holy diet thoughts.

ladybugnessa 10-01-2008 10:09 AM

oh oh oh... bad is when you stand there with the spoon and actually debate should I lick it or let the dog lick it.....

I carefully measured out my peanut butter last night that I spread on my graham cracker, scraped most of the excess back off into the jar, then ate the rest of the excess off the knife... I swear, as I stood there I could hear the debate in my head as I left some on the knife to eat on the way to the sink... :)

I didn't know about the holy diet thoughts though.. .Missed my chance!

hehehe
