Hi ladies, just checking in with you. I am computer-less at home so I will be using the computers at school while mine is being worked on. Hopefully it won't take long. Hewlett Packard is replacing my 3.5 floppy drive. The worse part was having to ship it to them. I wish they had local repair centers that did their warranty. Oh well.
The weather has been pretty good and I'm planning a walk this afternoon with my friend Tanya. Hopefully that will be the first step in getting back on track. I have been off track for so long. BUT, I'm not giving up!!
Hope everyone is doing well. KAT, good luck in school. I have two weeks before finals. I'm planning on spending the next two weeks studying!!
Kat, my hubby's neice is home now, but is hooked up to a drainage tube.
Not much going on here. The weather is gorgeous, and I've been outside a lot, taking m-i-l with me.
Here's a weird request - how does everyone (including lurkers) make tuna salad? I usually just take tuna, Miracle Whip and chopped pickles and mix it up, but I need a change. My mom used to make hers with eggs and stuff. I'm not sure what. Anybody got a good recipe? (Not diet, or lite. Regular. Then if I want to trim it down, I can.)
Jana, I usually make my tuna salad with eggs, pickles, miracle whip, onions, and i sometimes put apples in it. You might also try a few nuts of somekind.
Ruth, thanks for the recipe. A lady at my church puts toasted pecan chips in her chicken salad, and that it so good! I've had it with almonds, but the pecans were better. Way to go on the walking! It makes you feel so good and strong afterward, doesn't it?
I don't have anything special planned for the weekend, and want to just take it easy. Hopefully I can get some more sewing done.
Hi Jana, well we are having beautiful weather here in Louisiana. Of course, we are like the rest of the country, a little on the warm side. I went walking again this morning, I've now walked 8 miles in the last four days. I plan on walking again tomorrow.
Tuna salad sounds so good, I may just have to fix it tonight. Pecans sound like they would be wonderful in it.
Well, I better run, I'm here at the school, I'm suppose to be working on my Algebra.
I've been enjoying the amazing summer-like weather this past week--my bulbs are up and have started to flower, so spring has finally sprung. Of course, its supposed to snow early next week again...thus is the weather in Vermont.
I've been quite swamped with work as its the end of the semester. This next week will be LONG--very little sleep as I finish up all my projects and assignments. Then I have finals (the rest of them anyhow) and THEN I get a short break.
So far I've had my anatomy & physiology lab final--scored mid 80's on that. I actually wanted 90's, but 80's are do-able because if I do well on the written final I can still salvage an A. Monday I have my medical assessment clinical final whereupon I get to draw a body system from a hat and then do a complete head to toes assessment on someone, focusing in on the system I drew.
I'll be scarce over the next week and a half for that reason.
GREAT job on the walking Ruth! I've been getting in a lot of heavy cleaning, but not nearly as much real exercise as I would like. The kids and I took a nice long walk yesterday though.
Oh, this morning I woke to the entire house shaking and noticed the electric lines outside my window shaking at the exact same frequency and rate as the house. It didn't take long to figure out what it was, despite only having felt three quakes before in my life. My eldest daughter woke up yelling at her sister to "cut it out!". Evidently she thought her sister was shaking the bed. *lol* The sister in question yelled back that she wasn't doing anything. Pretty funny actually...
Interestingly, the cat who sleeps with me slept right through it, but the other cat flipped out, as did our pet rats.
HI Kat, I heard about the quakes on the news, but didn't pay attention to where they were. Glad to hear you are okay, and yes, the girls sound like a scene from a sitcom.
Good luck on finals, mine are 3 weeks away. I have two weeks of studying ahead of me. So I also will be a little scarce around here.
BTW, I walked 4 miles this morning. I'm feeling pretty good!
Carree - You and I will have to keep each other company while the other 2 cram.
Here's what I'm up to, lately. Remember that we moved in with m-i-l last Christmas? Well, we have a family room upstairs that we Never use, so I'm turning it into a sewing/craft room. The only drawback is that I can't be up there while alone with m-i-l, because she can't be left alone for very long. But at other times, I will just love it. It is very sunny and bright.
Evening, I just wanted to bring our thread back up to the top. I hope everyone is still okay. I know KAT must be busy studying, which is what I need to be doing.
I've continued my walks for the last week. I'm really feeling good about this.
Well, I've some studying to do, so I'll check in later.
Carree - Aww, I hope you get good news from the vet. Pets get to be just like one of the family, don't they? But no matter what happens, you'll know that you gave him a very good life for 12 years.
Hope you other gals are doing well.
I got the sewing room finished and it is so comfortable. It's 15x15, and I put in the sewing machine, a work table, a TV and stereo, and two easy chairs and a table between them, several lamps, and a bookcase. I have been working on the comforters for the baby shower, which is May 5th.
Well, the semester is winding down--I now am down to two last finals. The big one tomrrow in A&P is the angst filled exam, but thats only because I want an A. So long as I do better than a 72 on the final I'll have a B, but I really do want that A so I can have a 4.0 GPA for the semester. As of Wed. I'm a free woman off for a much needed break.
I'm also a bigger woman. The evil scale told me I was back up to 207 this morning. *sigh* I'm not sure what else to do now, save try try again.
