Default I screwed up...

I went to my sister and ate like a cow for one day. I don't know how to fix this. I feel like such a failure.

No use crying over spilt milk! You're most definitely not a failure, everybody does this from time to time, you just have to be a little more active and eat a little better for the next few days. You won't have done yourself much harm from just one day of overeating. Don't worry about it

Time to pull up your big girl pants and move on! The best way to "fix it" is to remember how you feel so you don't repeat your mistakes in the future

You 'fix it' by having a better day today. Eat right, go for a walk, forgive yourself. It's a process, and one bad day won't undo all the good ones.

Does it comfort you to know I'm a 3 year maintainer that went on a business trip for work and screwed up nearly every single day when faced with decadent buffet lunch/dinners?

EVERYONE, everyone on this board, has eaten off plan and felt badly about it. NO ONE is perfect 100% of the time. You are not a failure, you are human and normal. The trick is - getting immediately back on plan.

I had a bit more than planned yesterday...but today I've already been out for a 1 hour 20 minute walk - and I feel great about it!

Later this PM I'm supposed to meet up with a couple of ladies from my TOPS group and go for another walk. So I will have made up for the splurges of yesterday

The best thing you can do is pick yourself up, brush off the crumbs, and begin again. Chances are it feels worse than it really is. If you continue to fret about it, you are not moving ahead and learning from your choices.

Make today a great day by staying on plan and working in a bit of exercise! Soon you will forget about yesterday and start looking forward to tomorrow

Come now. Who HASN'T ever gone overboard? These things are bound to happen and ya know what, they're gonna happen again.

Without a doubt the "key" to it all is getting right back to good eating. Pronto. Yesterday is history. Concentrate on TODAY. Make TODAY count.

Do you have a plan in mind? One that you are already following perhaps? Filled with good healthy veggies, fruits and low fat proteins? A "scheduele" for what you will be eating, all meals and snacks? The best way to avoid another yesterday is to PLAN for a healthy TODAY and the rest of the week as well.

I had a great week and then did the same yesterday -- ate way too much! You know what, I still lost 1.6 pounds when I went to WW this morning. One day will not do too much damage to your weight loss -- letting one day turn into 2, 3 or a week will

Get back on track and remember everyone has an off day

These things happen.

None of us are perfect, and we all make choices from time to time that aren't good for our waistlines. Even the best dieters screw up once in a while and go off plan.

Just this weekend I overate at a barbecue (burgers, chips, cookies, etc.) and gained a solid pound. I could have just said to myself, "Hey, I gained 1 pound back, I might as well stop trying to live a healthy life and gain the other 62 pounds back too." But I didn't. I accepted the fact that I overate, and then moved on. I'm too happy with my progress to give up now just because I ate like a piggy for a day.

So you overate... accept it, and move forward!

Just get right back on your plan and give yourself a successful day. Don't wallow in past mistakes as that does nothing positive for you. Get right back up on that horse and have a fantastic day. Once you get one really good day under your belt again you will feel so much more positive!

Don't feel bad... I had a DOUBLE Big Mac yesterday!

Going off plan for a day is NOT the end of the world!! Forgive yourself immediately because (at least for me) guilt just makes you binge.

The important thing is to get back on your plan immediately. For myself, I plan 'off-meals' and sometimes even an 'off-day' here and there (note: these are not eat-everything-in-the-house days). Those planned off-times actually help me stick to my plan better throughout the week, believe it or not. And (again, at least for me) it helps my metabolism from getting used to a certain caloric intake.

My point being, you are NOT a failure for going off your plan for one day. Get back on it today and move on. We are all here to support you because we have all been there!!

One meal, one day, heck even a bad week does not make you a failure. You FIX it by getting back on track the very next meal. You dont punish yourself, you dont try to overcompensate.

This is not a diet...this is the rest of your life.

MTA: There was a woman on our am news show today who has lost 200 lbs. She is one of the finalists in ABC's contest (?) ...anyway she said "I want the choices of what I put in my mouth to be the best for me. Most days that means chicken and veggies. Occasionally though that means cake. " She also said something along the lines of "Never beat yourself up for what you did "wrong" celebrate what you did RIGHT"
