Hi HidingTazz!!
Cute name! Our pug dog is named Taz and sometimes I think my dh would love to hide her!

Anyway, you are right - sodium is a real problem for me and I checked the sodium on my cottage cheese which I LOVE! Over 400 in one serving - ugh -
Do you know of a natural way of getting rid of water weight? I think I've heard of squeezing a lime in warm water or something like that. I took water pills a couple of years ago and ended up in the hospital for 3 days with low potassium. I had terrible vertigo and the kids had to call an ambulance as I couldn't walk. So needless to say, I don't do water pills. But I'd love to find a natural diuretic. I love iced tea and drink it all day long and STILL retain! I don't get it!

Hey again,

Please don't stop eating cottage cheese because of the 400 mg of sodium! Salt is not the enemy unless you already have high blood pressure. If you simply avoid putting extra salt on your foods, you'll be fine--barring already high blood pressure.

By the way, I occasionally use a salt substitute called AlsoSalt that replaces sodium with potassium. It's not that I don't want sodium, but I do want to make sure I get enough potassium for the reasons you stated!

Drinking enough water, oddly, will help you lose water weight. It flushes out the salts and other chemicals that make you retain water. Try for 8-10 8-oz. glasses a day. Some people count beverages besides water; others don't.

Hey Lori. I have a pug, too! He's all black, his name is Bubba and he is my baby. He is very spoiled.

Hi Jay and Trooworld!

I'll have to try that Alsosalt. That sounds like a good idea. I wouldn't be happy to totally give up my cottage cheese. I love it with fruit - I actually can eat that for dessert!

Aren't pugs awesome??? I guess you are either crazy about them or don't like them at all. Some people call my baby Taz ugly!! Can you imagine?? We also have a Puggle (part beagle and part pug) - she is a rabbit hunter and I will NOT let her get them! One time I wasn't quick enough and she zipped that poor thing from the neck down - sigh - I'm such an animal fanatic that I just cried! Then we have Frosty who is mostly golden retriever - oh my is she a beauty! They are my babies - oh, and then I have five human kids too!

Wow! Five kiddos and your doggies? It sounds like your house is quite busy! Pugs ARE awesome. Now that I've had Bubba (my pug), I will ALWAYS have a pug in my life. This sounds cliche but Bubba is my best friend. I've had him since he was 8 weeks old (he's now 13 yrs old) and I can't tell you how heartbroken I'm going to be when I lose him. Yes, I agree, you are crazy about them or not so much. I've had Bubba called ugly, too...then some people say he's so ugly he's cute. As long as they aren't mean to him, I don't care (if they were mean to him, I'd kick their butt!). I love Puggles, they are so sweet looking with those sad beagle eyes. I bet she is a great dog. I wouldn't be able to handle the rabbit hunting, either...I would have cried too. Golden Retrievers are great dogs too! You know how to pick them. I have a cat and my pug, no children, so they are my babies.

Hey Trooworld!
I'm going to contact you privately so we can exchange photos of our fur babies.

Thanks to everyone for suggestions on my food program, especially to those who said to up the calories!

I printed out food calorie charts and a food calorie diary for me to write the calories down. It's fun! This is the ONLY way I HAVEN'T tried in 37 years of yo yo dieting. This just may work! And the is upstairs!!

I'm set to go! Have a GREAT weekend!
