Merry Christmas Everyone!
Today has been a good day. Lots of family getting together and enjoying being near each other. Our girls were so precious this morning while opening gifts. The best thing about Christmas morning is being taken back through your own childhood memories as you watch your little ones making their own. We have had so many holidays apart, it felt wonderful just being together. I still have that whole warm, fuzzy feeling going on, can you tell?
Surprisingly enough, food today has been great. I made sure to not buy bacon or sausage for our breaky this morning. The main treat was a gluten free pancake mix I found and watching my littlest one's eyes pop as her daddy served her up pancakes. It has been a while for her! She was so excited, she ate two entire ones by herself. I ate one with homemade apple butter and real maple syrup. Yummy!
My family all got together this afternoon for a few more presents and a buffet lunch. I stayed out of the mayo and full fat salad dressings and made sure to have two servings of green salad. I also decided to not feel bad about a third of a slice of pumpkin pie and a piece of fudge. It tasted great and I had no regrets. Nice having a day like today and leaving it feeling as if I've met a good balance with food and fun, concentrating more on fun.
Oh yeah, I even answered up through the million dollar question on my dad's new Who Wants to be a Millionaire game.
Lucky, I am so sorry for your loss. You have been through so much lately. You must be one strong woman to keep it all together. Let us know if you need a shoulder to lean on for a bit. *HUGS* And good for you, deciding to make 2002 about getting healthy!
2cute, I want to hear about your day! With all the effort you have put into this holiday, it must have been a blast.
Taz, Thank you for the Christmas wishes.
Thin, I took your advice to heart. It definitely kept me from popping in a second piece of fudge.
Grannie, your menu sounded yummy! If that hash brown casserole isn't too heavy on the butter and cheese, please pass the recipe on.
Michelle, you are one traveling woman this holiday! Not to mention baking, cleaning, shopping... You are on my list of Uber Women, chick.
I need to get back to family now. Merry Christmas to all of you!!!
