Default Which is best?

Ok I was gonna ask this down in exercise but decided to post here hoping to get a quicker answer.

Just a bit ago I had a nice 45 mins aerobic exercise. And about 15mins after the hunger pangs hit me. What is best to eat as a snack after such exercises? Is a piece whole wheat bread ok or is it better to have a yogurt or something?

I have always heard that you should replenish your carbs after a workout so things like bread or pasta would be good. I would go with the toast.

Usually a protein and a carb with minimal fat... it's important to refuel after and I think the body will crave carbs mostly, but the protein will help the muscle. I usually have 1/2 a protein drink before after my w/o (I keep the drink in the car for after) and then I get home, take a shower and have breakfast: usually 1 egg + egg whites, ww toast.

I hope that helps!

It did. I ended up having a piece of toasted whole wheat bread.

BTW, a snack containing protein eaten 30 minutes before exercise sometimes helps avoid that hungry feeling after.

It's a good idea to try for a balanced meal every time you eat, even if it's just a snack. Protein, grain, and fruit or vegetable. It could be as simple as adding a hard-boiled egg and cup of tomato juice to that piece of toast. Cram those veggies in any way you can!!!
