Default I gained 8lbs in a week?! SERIOUSLY?!

Can this happen? I mean-- I had a bad weekend-- but to go from 214 to 222 in a week? I want to cry.

That would be 28000 extra calories, so no, I don't think you could do that, even if you ate cheesecake around the clock without sleeping.

Sounds like water to me. Up your fiber, cut your sodium, drink as much water as you can stand. Don't weigh yourself for two or three days or you will obsess. I think when you weigh yourself, your numbers will be more reasonable.

I agree--it's pretty much impossible for you to have gained that much fat in a week, unless it was a REALLY bad weekend...

More likely, you're retaining water. It could be from eating foods with a lot of salt, or because of TOM, or because your metabolism shifted from the foods on the weekend. As others have said, get back on track, drink plenty of water. Drinking water helps to flush out the salt and the excess water goes with it.

It's not unusual for water weight to make that big a difference.

Good Luck!
Jay

P.S. 8 to 10 8-oz. glasses a day is plenty, by most sources.

Default Have no fear

By no means should you worry. This type of thing is a reoccurring cycle for me and many others. Example: Recently I took a cheat day and had Subway and a custard. Wouldn't you know the next day I'd gained 3-4 lbs. I know darn well that was no where near enough calories to pack on that much weight that quickly. I ate better for the next few days and went right back down.

As onethetee said, that would be 28,000 calories. No way you could pull that off, even over the course of a weekend. Give it a few days and you'll be fine. Don't get discouraged!

Hey, girlie.

Don't cry. This exact thing happened to me almost a month ago or less. Mine was 8lbs as well, hehe. But I can tell you this . . while your body may be hanging on now . . by the end of the week or even sooner . . it may be off! That isn't fat . . and it will be gone as you're back on track.

So, do not fear.

Everytime I have a binge [even for a day] I will be up 5 lbs. So don't let this ruin it for you . . you will overcome it once you're back on track!

Good luck, and keep your chin high.
