Boy that was weird what just happened before starting this new thread. I think we may have to start a new thread more often now. I think they have reprogramed how many fit on a page or something. Of course we use a lot more pictures now too... but that switched while I was reading it. WEIRD

Back to regular stuff now.
My day did not go anything as planned. I did not clean my clutter and I did not make it to the lake either. We ended up going to the movies and out to eat instead. We saw Bandits with Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thorton. If any of you plan on going... DO NOT GO LATE. You need to see every second of it from the beginning to the end. If you come late... it won't make any sense later on. I enjoyed it. It won't be nominated for any academy awards but still cute.

I did great at dinner. I gave my potato soup and my corn on the cob to my DH. I ate my salad and steak and baked onion. I never saw baked onion offered before. It was pretty good .. if you like baked onions, which I do. I did not take a single taste of the homemade bread either. My husband may gain a few pounds if he keeps eating out with me.

TT... keep up that journaling. "It does a body good" as Martha says.
Also... what about a recipe for green beans and brocolli?? Even those other GREEN veggies. My sister makes a wicked Italian veggie dish with mixed frozen veggies and Italian dressing. Does anyone know that one??

Michelle.... I am sitting here trying to invison you without an A$$.
That is one weird way to lose a few pounds. LOL If I rolled mine off I would be in the 200's now. LOL LOL
Do you have any tricks to get rid of a GUT !!!
I also got a laugh out of your post to TT. You mentioned local cookies. I thought...hmmm... are they made locally. LOL
It took me 2-3 times reading it to finally get it... lo-cal ... low calorie... LOL ... I am really not blonde under all this gray.
And last but not least... you can't get rid of me even if you wanted to .... trust me... my husband has tried. LOL LOL

Andria... you always say such profound things. Quote: "The harder they are to do ...they are the most worth it in the long run."
Oh soooo true. Whether it is getting out and exercising... or fixing myself a healthy lunch for me alone... or turning down that piece of chocolate. BUT...in return... it is also the most rewarding.
I know getting in here posting is hard for you right now.. but it is worth it.
Thanks for liking my "new" song. I soon hope to have to edit it.

Well ladies... I am going to be off of here by midnight. WOW
By the time you read this it will be Sit up Saturday.
I finally thought of a sit up I can do.

Sit up and pay attention to what I put in my mouth.
Sit up and pay attention to what comes out of my mouth too.
I can be my own best friend... or my worst enemy... the choice is mine.

Yep... I just looked at all the threads under Support.
They all went to a second page after only 15 posts.
I wonder why they lowered it by sooo much.
That is almost in half.

Acceptance... I guess I will get the opportunity to learn how to accept. LOL. BUT... I refuse to be Thankful.

Good evening everyone,

It's been awhile. I had hoped to write yesterday. But....I cut my hair and it was a disaster. Asymetrical they call it. My hairdresser answered his cell phone and ended my hair cut soon after that. I asked him if my left side was longer than the right. He fixed it, but when I got home no manipulation could fix it. I cut 1/2 inch and it still was too long. At a shorter layered length, my hair will curl. As it grows out, it'll turn wavy. To put it simply left was wavy, the right was curly. Needless to say, never again. He cut the top short after I took 10mos to grow it out. Yikes! I did a mean scramble and couldn't find any hair salon open. Sent my sister a SOS. I drove for 20minutes up winding steep roads to her home at 9:00 at night. She looked at it and layered/evened it out. A lifesaver. I'm so disappointed with my hair it's short on top and long in the back. yuck!I really wanted to look half way decent for my birthday and ended up with boyish. I was depressed and stopped at Wal-mart and bought myself into a better mood. This morning it looks even thanks to my sister.

2cute, congrats on swimming today. Didn't you feel great afterwards? Thank you for the compliment about turning 39 years. My life could be enhanced with more energy and a younger attitude. I fear I'll will end up with frumpy. I have to keep up my desire to lose weight. Also keep up the little things like drinking water to enhance my complexion, paint nails, color my hair.

Thin, thanks for the recipes. Does the peppermint meringues taste like those air peppermint candies from Sees candy? I love those, they melt in the mouth. Yummm. I love your ideas for the Star Trek tree. All this talk about Christmas makes me get butterflies in my stomach. I love this time of year. I can't wait to exercise with the tree lights on. Magical.

Michelle, what a wonderful idea about the gift baskets. My brother and family don't need anything. If I gift them with certificates they forget to spend it. I'm going to fill a basket with candies and ling hi mui seeds. Ever heard of that? It's a dried, sweet/salt plum from China. His boys love to eat it in an orange. Very delicious, especially in the summertime. I'll need to pick that up in Honolulu. I'm compiling a list. I'll probably need to take two empty suitcases on the plane. Will it look strange? Just kidding, the ticket agents usually joke: will you be shopping? Maybe with the new security, there's no joking around.

Tomorrow, I hope to trim the hedges and mow the yard in preparation for turkey day. Are any of you planning to go to Harry Potter? Ready to join the giggling, excited children?

Good night,
Malia

Malia... as you can see... I did not make it off of here.

How did you get that longggg picture to post ??? I have several like that and it won't post them. It always tells me they are too big. I am jealous!!!! I am going to have to try again I see. If mine don't post...I am.. I am... well I am going to do something.

yes I plan on seeing Harry Potter... but definitely not until ALL the kids are back in school. I am tooooo old to listen to all their noises while trying to watch a good movie. LOL I really am not mean... just old. LOL

My next to last hair cut was about equivalent to yours. My husband told me I looked awful. He must have told me a dozen times not to get my hair cut from them again. He acted like I had control over it or something. MEN !!!!
Anyway... I didn't have a sister to help and even if I did... I didn't have enough hair left to save. But it FINALLY grew out and I actually like my hair today. I just had it cut a week or so ago.

Well I am going to go try those long posts. I have 3-4 of them.
Malia.. I see you made it in again with my Richie Pooh. LOL
If this doesn't have a long one... you will probably be hearing me cry all the way in Hawaii. LOL

It looks like I am going to fill in most of those 15 slots by myself.

I was reading on another site and there was this woman talking about the (apron) on large women. I just HATE that word. I like blubber better than (apron) .
Anyway... most of us with those things can't lie on the floor and do crunches and sit-ups. Heck.. once I get on the floor.. I can't even get back up. LOL

WELL, this woman found a site that gave an exercise we CAN DO.
(I can see TT hiding already.. LOL) And here it is.
There is NO EXCUSE for any of us not doing this one. Plus... think of the PRIDE you will feel knowing you are exercising.

It said for huge tummies if you stand with nothing restraining or holding your body in place (basically in a night gown or nude i guess) to suck your tummy in then let it out slowly, this will work those muscles, I'm too big to do actual sit ups/crunches with out killing myself, so I started doing these last night, and oh my god, I could feel it today! I did four sets of ten, and that last two sets was killing me, so I guess I'll just work it like this three or four times a day till I've lost enough to get my fat a$$ on the floor and do them right LOL
______________________________________

Ladies... we can all do this one.!!! You can even do them sitting at the computer. I think you would use more muscle standing up... but sitting down is a start.
In..... outtttttt. In.....outttttt That a girl!!!!!
I can feel myself tightening up as I type.

Wellll.... as I always end... I am out of here.
(Don't you just LOVE Sit-up Saturdays.)

Default I promise I will quit posting.

I have had such a wonderful day. I went garage saleing and found two dolls I had growing up. One was a Wedding Doll. The other was Barbies best friend Midge. She had red hair and freckles. Her hair was long and curled up around her neck. Do any of you old timers remember her?? She was my favorite. I liked her more than Barbie. She is in PERFECT condition in original clothes and "shoes". I am reliving my youth.
What is it about when you get OLD you get this soft spot in your heart for the things you grew up with.???? I sold mine in a garage sale when I was about 19-20.
Oh...youth is wasted on the young. LOL

I had so much fun I forgot to eat.
I also had another thing from my past happen.
I walked up to a garage sale and a familar face came up to me and said. "I remember you... we went to high school together."
I was in shock. I did remember her face but I had NO IDEA where from.
We gave each other a hug and then I said.... "I can't believe you recognized me." She said I had not changed a bit. Then I said ... "Well that must mean I still look as good as I did at 18."
Then after we stopped laughing... I realized... maybe she meant at 18 I looked like I was in my 50's. LOL
We had a nice visit. I really enjoyed it and yes... of course... I wished I had lost this weight last year "before" someone who knew me saw me. LOL LOL

Why am I always shocked when people act like it doesn't matter how fat I am.??
Have I had it planted soooo deep into my inner being that my size DOES matter??
I don't think my husband and mother have ANY IDEA the damage they have done to me. I don't hold it against them. I truly don't think they know.
I do know...just recently in fact... that we sometimes say things we would take back if we could. But... we can't. We have to make our amends and hope we are forgiven.. but then go on with our lives.
One more thing I want to add. You don't have to be forgiven to go on. You only have to make the amends.

Well... I will try not to post again until someone else posts.
Oh... I also bought a doll from Italy that I really really liked. She is an Italian Bonomi. I don't know what that means... I only know I loved her. I don't even collect dolls. LOL Well I have a few...but no big collection if you know what I mean.
I also bought a few clothes too. They were my size and cheap. I couldn't resist. But... I don't plan them fitting for long.

Hey 2Cute....I will fill one of the slots!!

I was just so busy today trying to get a handle of the laundry which grew and reproduced and all that stuff during the week...then I had to clean the house because John's stepsister was coming over to babysit tonight. This is my first real night out since Andrew was born 14 months ago! I had a great time but blew my program big time. I had two drinks and a small slice of pizza then came home and had a piece of pumpkin pie I made for John today. TOmorrow is weigh in...not looking forward to it!!

I'm really tired now..not use to this night life! I will catch up with you al tomorrow!

Yes Bren... It DOES count when you hold your gut in when you see a cute guy. LOL LOL
It also counts when you step on a scale too. LOL
I am doing it now every time I sit at this computer. I do about 5 of them before I can type. LOL The bad part of it is..... it makes me feel like I am constipated or something.

I am so happy to see you back. We missed you. TODAY is the only day we have to worry about. Take care of today and our tomorrows will take care of themselves.

Michelle ... you made me feel shameful. I should be doing all that hard work you are doing. In fact I have done quite a bit today already. I AM going to get that darn clutter out of my kitchen TODAY. I am running out of time. Thursday will be here before I know it. I still have to clean and shop and cook and yardwork and Whoa...I better sit down and rest. LOL

Nothing profound to say today. Just wanted to check in. Love you all.

Default Good Afternoon!!

2Cute...I was as tired as heck after doing all that crap yesterday and I still have 2 loads of laundry to do. And I have to fold the whites that are still in the dryer. The good thing about getting all that work done yesterday is that I got to spend most of the day at the mall with my son. We went to WW to weigh in and as expected had a gain of 1.2 lbs. Then we went to the mall to do some Christmas shopping. We had planned to get my sister's gift this week but John needed a new pair of sneakers and they were on sale this week so we got those. Andrew will give them to his daddy for Christmas. He loves to hand us our other shoe when we are putting them on. If he is in his highchair he laughs at us when we put our shoes on and he loves to put his on. Well we got the sneakers at Sears then we were toddling along and went into the things remembered store and they had these pretty silver wire heart shaped basket boxes with a candle holder of the same material and eight votive candles inside of different shades of rose. The round boxes had blue candles and the square had purple so, We got the rose ones for John's stepmom...well sorta step mom...she has been his dad's girlfriend for many many years. They were only $19.99 then we got her a black and gold butterfly pin from Andrew...we got there too early this morning...most of the stores didn't open till 11 am being sunday...some opened at 10. Andrew and I shared a pumpkin muffin from dunkin donuts and he rode a couple of the kiddie rides and after we shopped we had lunch in the food court! It was quite a fun day for us. He is such a good kid...we saw Santa Claus in the mall and there was a real long line and the camera was broke so we figured we would wait until it was closer to Christmas so Santa won't forget what Andrew tells him he wants!
See what motherhood reduces you to at the age of 41!! LOL

Phew...that was a mouthful huh? You guys will soon be able to tell which weekends John works. I will ramble and ramble and ramble for lack of adult conversation here on those weekends! I go to work on Monday and they can tell already! LOL

Well...I should go get the rest of the laundry done! Then I won't have to do anything for the next few days!!

Have a good day all!! Michelle

Hello ladies! I was here earlier and had a HUGE post for you all. But I lost it. Probably my own fault. I use those darn 'F' keys to hold my magazines or whatever I'm copying out of and I think I may have hit 'esc' by mistake. So guess what??? You all are lucky because I don't have time to re-create it all and so now all you get is the recipes, which I see the rest of you all forgot to post today!!!! Shame on YOU!!!

First I want to give you this one. It was sent to me by Syn, who bootlegged it from somewhere else. They were really good and passed the 'guy test' here. Then there are some more cookie recipes for you. I'll just post a couple of them at a time so as not to wear you all out.

Stove Top Meatloaf Muffins
Servings: 12
Estimated WW points per serving: 4

2 lbs. ground beef, 95% lean
1 pkg. (6oz) Stove Top Stuffing
2 eggs (I used egg substitute)
1 cup water
cooking spray

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray muffin tin with cooking spray. Mix all ingredients together. Fill 12 muffin cups equally. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-35 minutes or until done. Freezes well.

Sugar Cookie Cutouts
Makes around 36 cookies
Serving size: 3 cookies
Per serving: 3 WW points

1/2 cup light stick margarine (I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Light)
4 oz. reduced fat cream cheese
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 1/4 cups flour (save 2 Tbls.)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
red and green decorator sugar to garnish

In large bowl, cream margarine and cream cheese. Add egg and vanilla. Gradually add dry ingredients and form a dough. Refrigerate for a couple of hours or overnight.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Use reserve flour on wax paper to roll out about 1/8" thick. Cut with cookie cutters.

Reroll dough as necessary, making around 36 cookies.

Place on baking sheets about 1" apart. Decorate with colored sugar. Bake 8-10 minutes.

Store in airtight containers.

Nutrition info per serving: 105 calories, 5 grams fat, 0 grams fiber

Chocolate-Toffee Puffs
Yield: 2 dozen cookies
Serving size: 1 cookie = 1 WW point

4 large egg whites
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1 cup sifted powdered sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa (such as Hershey's)
2 (1.4 oz) chocolate covered toffee bars (such as Heath), crushed
Cooking spray

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Beat egg whites in a large bowl with a mixer at high speed until soft peaks form. Gradually add granulated sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
3. Combine powdered sugar, cocoa and candy bars in a small bowl and mix well. Fold half of cocoa mixture into egg whites (egg whites will deflate quickly). Fold in remaining cocoa mixture until smooth. Drop the egg mixture by rounded tablespoonfuls onto baking sheet coated with cooking spray. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes (puffs will be soft in center).

Nutrition info: calories 52, fat 1.4g, protein 1.1g, carb 9.9g, fiber 0.7g, chol 1.7mg, iron 0.3mg, sodium 19mg, calc 7mg.

Well, girls, that's my quota for today. You all have a good one. I'll chat with each of you later. Love to all.
