I did make Valentines bags and cards for my 2 kids ages 21 and 14 and they both liked them. I didn't see DH because he pulled a 16 hr. shift yesterday .My SD that has been here with her 2 kids for 10 days left and went to my MIL's (thank God) so that was an awesome VD gift for me. I just kicked back, watched a movie and played cards with my DD. It snowed hard last night and I waited up all night to see that my son finallly made it home safely from work at 4AM.
DH did take me and DD out to dinner tonite for a late VD's dinner. It was a good and I controlled myself and stayed in my calorie limit for the day. So, not a bad VD afterall.
My V-day was blah. I didn't go in to work because of the nor'easter (hehe) Stayed home. BF didn't write to me (after sending him a card), didn't send me a card, nothing. All I wanted was a "Happy v-day!" but nothing. So I was pissy the entire day. I tried to be like you guys - not caring about v-day but I really do care. So anyway, I got a card from him at around midnight so I was appeased.

Way to show your DH that 3FC is GREAT!!! WTG on your loss.
I'm almost reluctant to say I had a good V-day, when so many of you seem unhappy about yours....
But I did! I always do. Mainly because I always speak up & tell Hubby exactly what I want; that way there's no disappointment, no surprises, & no Hubby feeling like crap because he "can't read my mind." I don't usually care for the traditional red roses - I like pink roses! -but my favorite flower is pink carnations. But this year, he felt like going with "the classic" ... A dozen roses & a beautiful card = lucky hubby.

I feel the same way. I told DH in advance that I wasn't buying him a gift and he wasn't going to buy me a gift. No need for flowers or any other trinkets either. We were snowed in anyway but I did mean to go to Trader Joe's and buy a dessert. That didn't happen but we survived
We never do anything for VD, so it was no different than any other day. But today I got a package from my son (who lives in Oregon). It was actually the gift he got me for Christmas but never mailed. He was hoping it would arrive in time for VD, but it was two days late. That's OK. :-)
He sent me some Stumptown coffee beans (locally roasted in Portland in antique coffee roasters--so yummy), some chocolate (which I can't eat and put away for later--much later), and some port (which I also can't drink now, so I'm saving it). It made my day to get the package.
