Default How much is too much?

Hi everyone. I'm Brenda & have been veg. for 6+ years now. However, I've decided to begin eating HEALTHIER foods. In the past I ate all the same meals as meat-eaters, but with meat subsitutes..however, I have finally hit my highest weight ever at 204lbs and it hit me like bricks, so I'm making some major changes.

Today is the first official day and I'm doing alright (especially considering the kitchen at work is loaded with chocolates and junk food). I've had lots of water, an orange for breakfast. For lunch, my guy & I went to a buffet and I still managed to eat only steamed veggies & salad. The problem is that I ate: steamed broccoli, carrots, cabbage, cauliflower, corn, peas, grapes, cantiloupe, small sweet potato, and a small asian salad (mixed greens, oranges & grapes in a light dressing)

I know it sounds like a LOT of food, but it was tiny portions of each. (2 plates total)

I was aiming for nutrients so I wanted a variety, but how much is too much? All of the veggies were steamed (no cheese, no butter), the potato was plain, etc... so did I still do okay, or can you even over-do it on plain veggies??

Unless you have tons you can't really overdo it. I find potatos are the worst for making me put on weight but I can still manage tons of them and be ok.
You can get some meat substitutes that are very low in fat. Be careful eating potatos etc from a buffet cos sometimes they drown em in butter when they cook them to keep them soft as they stand for a while on the buffet.

Nope - sounds perfect to me. When you are eating only high nutrient density foods you can trust your own appetite as it is it finally starts working correctly again
