Thanks guys

jillnicole03 03-02-2009 07:03 PM

yeah there are a couple missing team mates i noticed! :P

erinmagill 03-02-2009 09:27 PM

So today was a good day. Last week I went to the gym 6 times, and today I still felt excited and motivated to go. At the gym, I ran for 6 km on the treadmill (the farthest I have ever gone before was 5) and at the end, the only reason why I stopped was because all the machines were taken and there was a lady waiting (there is a half hour max on the equipment)...at the end I felt like I could go forever. It was amazing. I lost a pound of sweat in that hour (hot, huh?)
So, tomorrow I am so excited to go. I have a goal of being able to run 10km and weighing 190 by mid may, and right now for the first time I actually feel like that attainable.
I think Ive just discovered that having an honest faith in myself is the best motivator I have ever had. For all the reasons to succeed, not wanting to disappoint myself is the best ever.

Erin-that's awesome!!

Haley-Can you post the chili recipe? Also, good luck with your surgery!

We've been having really nice weather lately, so Jill and I went hiking Sunday (I'm guessing it was between 3 and 4 miles) and yesterday I went on a 4 mile hike with my husband. I am loving this weather! Looks like we'll be back into winter by Saturday, though, so I'm going to try to get out a few more times before then.

Have a great day, everyone!!

Spicy Mexican Chili
2 cups dried red beans
1 medium onion -- chopped
2 stalks celery -- chopped
7 ounces green chiles -- canned
1 cup tomato sauce
1 tablespoon oregano -- ground
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1 bunch green onions -- chopped
2 teaspoons lime juice
5 cups water
1 medium green bell pepper -- chopped
2 teaspoons minced garlic
28 ounces chopped tomato -- canned
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1/2 cup cilantro leaves, whole -- chopped
dash tabasco sauce

Place beans and water in a large pot. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat, and simmer for an hour.

Add the remaining ingredients except for green onions, cilantro, and lime juice and cook an additional 2 hours.

Add green onions and cilantro and cook an additional hour.

Stir in the lime juice. Put in seasonings and stir in some tabasco sauce if desired.

I don't think it's very spicy so if you like it hot add more of the spicy seasonings

Darby1-Thanks for wishing me luck...I imagine it will be uncomfortable to swallow so maybe it will help my weigh in lol

lentilbean 03-03-2009 11:17 AM
