Default Hello fellow vegetarians and vegans!

Hi, I 'm new here and just wanted to pop in and say hi. I've been vegetarian for about 5 years now. I guess technically I'm pescatarian b/c once in a blue moon I may have fish. Oh, and I guess I can't count my pregnancy b/c I ate some chicken then, but I swear, I really do consider myself a vegetarian. I'm actually vegan leaning these days. That latest beef recall really got me thinking about industrial farming, etc.

Anyway, I'm doing weight watchers online. I'm on week 2.

Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Welcome!

I'm vegan and have been for a long time. I've done WW before and it's amazing how much veggie food you can eat!

Every time there is a recall I wonder how many people change the way they eat.

Welcome Beantowngirl!
I have been "vegematarian" (as my friends like to put it) for 13 years, and after a few years meat hasn't crossed my mind as something edible.
Hope your WW works out well! Lots of willpower and hope you have a great weightloss journey

Hello. I'm also vegetarian. I find lots of food I can eat whilst out has loads of cheese on it, which doesn't help. Good luck with the weight watchers.

Default Hi!

Hi, Beantowngirl ... I'm new since Wednesday and am transitioning from an omnivore to full on vegan. I couldn't be happier about my decision and am really, really glad to find so many vegans already here to help guide us newbies (although, I'm 45 already, so I'm not sure how new I can be considered.)

Looking forward to learning all kinds of things I never knew!

Hi everyone,

I'm brand new on this site, and trying to figure out "where I belong"

One place I know I belong is the vegetarian forum! I have always been a vegetarian - my parents were veggies when they got married so I was born into it. I had a phase when I was about 14 that I wanted to see what meat and chicken tasted like. Results? Not Pretty

I find that people say, "You're a vegetarian? Wow. Why aren't you thin then?"
<nice.....> I guess it takes too much intelligence to know that chocolate isn't poultry, or whatever..... Anyway! Sorry for rambling and I hope you'll welcome me in!

Thanks, Becky!
I hope one day I'll be able to belt out an answer like that!
Actually - better yet - I hope one day I'll be nice and fit and the rude person will say "Oh, you're a vegetarian. That explains WHY YOU LOOK SO GOOD!"
To which I shall reply "No - I look good because I want to" Heh.

I can just see peoples wheels turning in their heads when I tell them Im vegetarian, I just know what they are thinking. So most of the time I dont say anything unless I have to. Besides, they need to know, not all fat comes from animal sources, and junk food too. Vegetarians are real people too, come on judgemental people!!!!
