Default So delicious ice cream...

Ok I've tried Soy ice cream before and I wasn't impressed. Ice cream also used to be one of my binge items so I'm very cautious about it. Lately, I've been carefully weighing most of my food to get accurate portions so I feel a bit more confident in what foods I allow in my diet.

So I was at the store and saw the So Delicious ice cream on sale. I looked at the calorie counts and they looked really good. A lot of the other soy ice creams were higher in calories (some more than double) for the same serving size.

I decided to go for it. Although it is a bit of an emotional eat, I had room in my daily calories for a treat. I measured out 70grams (1/2 cup, 120 calories) and then savored every bite. It was soo good. Tasted better than any 'real' ice cream I've ever had.

Good for you! I am so happy for you.

I also LOVE that ice cream!!! What is your favorite? I suppose you just tried it, so I guess I mean, which kind did you try?

I really want to ask you questions about being vegan on WW because I am interested. I have been losing well doing vegan low carb (YES, it's possible but NOT very fun at times) and I may want to go ahead and do WW if it's as vegan-friendly as it seems!

Would you mind having a thread like this?

Ok this is how big a dork I am...

The brand I have is Whole Soy & Co, for some reason I thought it was So Delicious. I did buy some So Delicious fudge bars though and those were good.

The flavors I have are Swiss Dark chocolate and Black Cherry.

I will start another thread about WW

Oh! Are those the "cultured" ones? The Black Cherry is soy yogurt.

Thanks, I will look for the WW thread.

Yeah I guess they are soy frozen yogurt and still delectable. I'm going back to the grocery store today to see if the sale is still going on. They had a couple other flavors.

I like the neopolitan Soy Delicous. I also like those tofutti cutie "ice cream" sandwiches, but they are a bit high in calories. Still yummy for an occasional treat.

i tried the So delicious ice cream sandwiches for the first time this weekend. I got the mini sandwiches with chocolate ice cream- only 90 calories per sandwich and they are delicious and totally satiate my chocolate cravings!

Rainbow makes an awesome mango/vanilla (mango and vanilla ice cream side by side in the same carton) that is to die for!

I recently tried the Soy Dream mint chocolate chip and it tasted like toothpaste. Stay far away! The strawberry Tofutti Cutie sandwiches also taste weird to me, but I like their chocolate and mint chocolate chip sandwiches.

Perhaps I should not admit to knowing about so many different kinds of soy ice cream...

I just picked up the Tofutti chocolate sandwiches last night and haven't tried them yet. I liked Tofutti the first time when I tried it at the Magic Kingdom, but haven't given it a go again because the nutritional stats kind of throw me off- 14 gms of fat for a little scoop.

Update - I went back to the store and bought one more flavor of Whole Soy & Co ice cream, Creme Caramel. Uhhh it is delicious! It is exactly what Dulce de Leche ice cream should taste like. Of course should I be giving reviews of ice cream? Hey it is 2 points and a decent dessert, as long as I weigh out one serving.
