awwwwwwwwww congrats Kylie.. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! .....
just spoke to the RCN rep... have to decide by monday if im going to take work to court.. or not... getting papers etc ready incase i do.... big job .. but least i have most stuff.. / applying for my medical notes from work etc.. still no news on the job front... waiting to hear... booooo... keeping a look out... lost 2lb this week tho!... so not too bad!... |
:congrat: to you and fiance Kylie, sounds like it was a rather lovely weekend in Budapest...so Sept 08 hey? I'll keep my calendar open :)
Can we all be included in the dress looking and such, like Mrs. Frus did... that was such fun. Oh, a though, wedding will be? England or Austrailia luv? I am so chuffed for you....keep us up to date. Brrrrrrrrrrrr. it's mighty chilly out....I just want to go back to bed.Should go out and start that car for Hannah....more later all. |
Congrats Kylie, should I start looking for a hat?!
No aerial assault courses for the hen party I presume though ;) |
Ooooh can I wear a hat??? I like hats...
I think it'll be a spa day for the hen party don't you ;) |
Ok, I'm back, car is warmed, and child is off to school.
I found the fried onions, so I'll get them off in the post today... they're on their way MummyTummy :) I asked a chap in the shop yesterday after going up and down the aisles again, he pointed about two feet away from me... and then told me, I'd usua;;y find them near the canned veg... where I've been looking since Thanksgiving, but then he said they moved them...and they're now going to be in aisle six....no clue why... must be like why milk is at the bottom of the shop, so you buy other stuff when you run in to get some, you pick up other stuff. The onions, they must keep moving round to different places, so everyone wanting to make green been casserole, from Thanksgiving to Christmas, picks up all sorts of tat, on teir search around the shop for them....But I have them :) Forgot to say last night, Helen, will you be taking a camera to your party on Friday... I think we need to see you as a St. Trinians...with your long socks and rounders badge... I never got a badge for rounders? Loved the game... was quite good at whacking the ball, crap at the running around... One week now until my Mummy arrives, i'm getting very excited...and dave goes tomorrow to see J graduate and drive back up here, so I'll see him Tuesday... I quite miss the big oaf... I've just hopped on the scales, they're not looking happy... I think I've been a bit naughty this week with the cookies Hannah made...ok, time for curves to work it off. |
Morning all. I'm feeling very sluggish today, walked around in circles 3 times forgetting what I was looking for. Must be all the sugar I had yesterday. I will wait until tomorrow to weigh. Yikes.
Congrats Kylie on your engagement. Chris big week coming up are you cleaning ;) ? Need to go to Curves and then some shopping. |
Definitely no aerial assault courses, no go karting, nothing more active than having a massage and getting into a swimming pool!
Wedding will be in Ramsbottom! Oh yes, once I am set up at home, I'll involve you all in the dress hunting!!! |
lol kylie.. .
"I had a slight asthma attack on the cross trainer, and was really pleased - " mmm ok... least your here to tell the tale... take it easier chick!.. |

congratulations kylie, so exciting, everyone loves a good old wedding

I've just been to sweet canape heaven. This do we had was all sweet things, little mince pies, cranberry creme brulee, chocolate truffles, christmas cake with cheese, berry skewers. Sweet tooth heaven.
I may have indulged a little, but I tried to at least sandwich a berry stick in between each helping of the more decadent stuff, and each one was only bite size so I'm hoping it wasn't too bad overall. I've just come in and had a bit of lentil soup to at least give me some nutrients and try to override the sugar rush I'm sure is coming. Still, on the plus side I didn't have any alcohol, which saved a few calories for cake, and means I'll be able to burn the cakes off on the treadmill tomorrow morning. Or some of them, anyway. |
how bad is small portion of vegetable lesagne?
i had 800 cals left last night before attendind a dinner thing with my college mastes , but i was good had lots of salad only 2 tiny bits of garlic bread and half of the lesagne on my plate....any ideas? oh and who has there x mas deccies up yet? i got mine uo yesterday, well some of them hehe. |
I did 30 minutes of killer speedwork on the :tread: this morning. I really hate the session, and it leaves me really tired, but it does seem to be working. The good news is that the scales were back down to 153.5 again, after their brief blip at the start of the week.
I'm looking forward to this evening, it's the only evening this week I've got nothing planned (well, other than defuzzing my legs ready for tomorrow...) |
My legs still hurt from my super-squats on Tuesday  Which is a slight pain in the er... leg, since I have 3 hours training tonight! 3 HOURS! :hyper: I'm so excited! YAYA YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY! I'm going to stock up on energy drinks and I have a good excuse to eat some soreen and some pumpkin cake this morning :D :T
|
Frus or anyone else for that matter
Have you tried the christmas soreen? We had a sample at RC on Tuesday, It tastes just like xmas cake. Problem is though I think I'd still need 1/2" of butter on it, but I'll buy some for everyone else so they don't feel so deprived. I have'nt made a xmas cake this year. Carole |
Forgot to say congratulations to Kylie.
|
CHRISTMAS SOREEN???????
:T I've got some soreen for my morning snack (it's one of those pre-buttered with real butter snack packs). But I haven't seen CHRISTMAS SOREEN :hyper: Must find some! We're a bit fruit-caked out though - just chopped up the last of the wedding cake and given most of the 12" square base to the 'rents! We decided not to keep any since DH doesn't really like it, and I like it too much and it's too high in calories, so out it goes! |
Ooohhhh!!! A wedding - I  weddings. CONGRATULATIONS Kylie!
Well... my VAT inspection went okay. Chris, I don't know if its annual - it seems almost random. The last one I had was about 18 months ago. The inspector was a nice lady who was very helpful - she showed me a few new VAT tricks and complimented me on my record keeping. :D Poor woman, I was completely full of cold - runny nose, headache, achey bones - the lot - and she was stuck in my small (cosy) office with me with a couple of visits in to the unheated garage/store room - she's bound to have caught it. I had an excellent NSV !!!!! My size 16 jeans were bagging around the front so I tried on a size 14 pair again and they fit very comfortably this time (not sure why the difference - I only lost a pound this week). I even tried on my Monsoon size 14 Christmas trousers and skirt and they fit as well.... yah! :carrot: :carrot: I'm just hoping that I fit in to my Christmas tops in time - they are still a bit tight across the upper back. :?: I'm not looking forward to this evening - my least favourite ex sister in law is over this way on business so she's 'dropping by' to exchange Christmas pressies - this SIL is the miserable :censored: who is always politely rude about some aspect of my weight. She always does it in such a way as to sound like she's worried about me but we both know its nothing of the sort. |
WOOOOO! Size 14s YEAH!
See you ARE skinny :D  |
People like that are so aggrevating Sarah.
Had a small victory yesterday also, except for the fact that I need to spend more money on clothes. I wore some size 12 pants that I bought over the summer, they are falling off and yesterday was the first time I had worn them. One of my students was talking about her grandmother and said "my grandmothers tiny, like Ms. S".....Ms. S is me, I started laughing, can't really describe myself as tiny. Then another one said Ms. seriously, those pants look stupid. Gotta love em. |

Glad to hear your audit went well Sarah, sorry to hear you sound so rotten though, are you dosing yourself up? Super well done on your NSV, that's absolutely brilliant... and I am sure that those tops will fit perfectly at Christmas...maybe you just need a bit of toning in that area, not actual weight loss?
I had an exciting run in with gushing water yesterday. I was out front of the house with my poop-a-scoop, picking up some pooh, it was a little breezy so I could hear the leaves that are still on the trees rustling, but the longer I was out there, I convinced myself that I could hear water running, so walked to the side of the house and looked over the fence. Sure enough, there was water, gushing upwards like a guezer (sp)? right next to the house, the ground was all flooded and my first thought was oh sh**, my basement must be flooding as the windows are at ground level and not exactly fitted well and that's where the water was. I ran around the house and into the water, it was about five inches deep at that point and bloody cold, and saw there was two valves attached so getting soaked, I reached in the gusher and urned and the water slowed and stoppped...very ingenious for me you know, usually I swear a lot, haven't a clue what to do and phone Dave in a panic.... Then when I looked at this pipe, I saw that there were cap looking things in the water, floating around the garden, so picked them out and figured they mgiht go on the top. They did, but I couldn't clip them back on, so left them. Then thought to go down and see if there was any damage downstairs, thankfully not...don't know how not, but I'm thankful for small miracles. Dave came home later and looked, the cap thingies, had actually snapped on their clippy bits... so couldn't be fixed back on, so a plumber was called... of course all this water gushing out, emptied the well... so no water, no cooking, no flushing the loo....always lovely. So I ate chinese for dinner last night and feel it this morning... all bloaty and horrible :( So the plumber is coming back out today, so he can see what he's doing, to fix the thing (it was dark when he came last night) , we do have running water again as the well has filled back up, and I have to take dave to RI airport which is about an hours drive away, so as he can go to AZ and get J. They'll be starting their drive across country tommorrow after J's final test for graduation. Right, I'd better get on, not so cold out today but tomorrow is not supposed to be nice at all... very cold...out come the doggy coats for my furry friends and walking... :) |
OMG, Chris, that sounds really scary. You did well to keep your cool and turn off the valves. I'd have probably just stood there hopping up and down, panicking!
This cold is at the 'I've had enough' stage. The sore throat, headache and earache has gone, but my poor nose looks very seasonal (I could give Rudolph a run for his money) and I've got a sour tummy from so many meds - but I don't feel all tearful or want to crawl back in to bed today - which is a good thing because I've got a lot of catching up to do for work I should have done yesterday. I've always had a bit of a tummy but those tummy muscles just gave up the fight when I had my hysterectomy and the :censored: surgeon did a vertical incission instead of a horizontal one. Not sure about the shoulders - working out/toning just makes me look even more like a Russian Shot Putter. |
That water thing sounds scary, I agree you did well to think of what to do!
You might not think of it as skinny, but well done on the 14! It seems I might be one of the few people to be doing fancy dress tomorrow judging by some of the reactions I just got when I mentioned what I was wearing. Oh well, it will give them all a laugh... Today could well turn into the day from **** with work, why are there some clients who assume you don't have any other work to do and are at their beck and call. I might have to go to a meeting on Monday on the same file, in Switzerland. How sad is it that I immediately thought "but I'd miss running club"?! I'm trying to persuade them to do it by phone... |
It's :censored: frigid out there. Just took my youngest to the bus-stop,it was painfully cold. I've got the slow cooker on with a piece of beef cooking. I can't do roasts always turn out like leather.
Chris well done on the water. I would have panicked and been on the phone. I'd love to get into a size 14. What's an NSV? Stay warm everyone. |
CG - an NSV is a 'Non Scale Victory' - like getting in to a smaller dress size or running longer.
|
Oh HELEN! Have you asked around to make sure you aren't the only one turning up in fancy dress?????? Now THAT would be embarrassing. :o
|
OMG... anyone in Norf Lonodon.... ok i hope !
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/london/6217514.stm we are 7 miles away.. |
Chris my house would be flooded if that happened to me.
Helen I can't imagine not wanting to go to Switzerland!!! Good for you. Sarah...get better please :) I learned a lesson today. One of my students was having pretzels and offered me some and I said "no thanks trying to be good today." She is tall and probably a size 10 or 12, in pretty good shape. I think she is 16 or 17. Anyway she stood up and said "Miss you have no reason to be dieting, your not even a little bit fat." This of course made me happy but then I realized I work with teenagers. I need to stop talking about food and dieting. I don't feel like I do it often but obviously they know that its important to me or she wouldn't have said anything. Anyway...bit of a slap in the face, I don't need to be making the teenagers all crazy and food obsessed. :( |
I'm sure there will be other people in fancy dress... and if not I'll win the prize for best costume! :D I'm definitely going to do it, although as I'll no doubt still have my rucksack with me because I'm changing at the gym between work and the party there will be a change of clothes in it just in case!
I just can't be bothered spending hours travelling for a meeting we could quite easily do by phone. It would be one thing if I would be travelling alone and could get some sightseeing or shopping in, but instead it would just be a day of sitting in airport terminals trying to make small talk with the client and seeing the inside of offices. Nothing glamourous about that - and I'd miss running! |
Just so long it wouldn't be like that party scene in Bridget Jones' Diary when she was in the bunny girl outfit. (Or was it in the second Bridge Jones' film? Can't remember)
Redsoxgirl - its scary how kids pick up on that kind of thing - especially teenage girls. Perhaps she's right (in my experience teenagers tend to speak their minds and not to be polite for the sake of it) - maybe you are at the perfect weight for your height and body shape????? |
Helen, have fun at your fancy dress... remember to take pics please.
My water problem is all fixed, the plumber came back today and sorted it all. As for not panicing yesterday, I don't usally panic, I have always managed to sort the problems calmly, usually by shutting things off and then try and figure it out later, or call Dave. I was very calm a year or so back when a friend of mine set fire to my kitchen when I was on my way home from work, she called me and told me to hurry up as she'd started a fire, and I didn't believe her, but when I walked in the house and it was smoke filled...I knew she wasn't kidding, daft tart put my electric kettle on the ceramic top stve and turned the ring on high, of course, it burst into flames and the rubber sealed bottom exploded... you should have seen the mess... black rubber goo, all over the counters, cooker top and cupboards, and she wet two tea towels and threw them over the fire, and they caught alight too....bless....it all cleaned up in the end though and thankfully there wasn't any smoke damage. My poor hubs, he's still on a plane headed for AZ, he was supposed to arrive at eight, their time, ten ours, but he had to have his flights changed and go through Nj instead of Cleveland, had a longer layover, the flight was late leaving and doesn't arrive now until two our time, he was up at four, so I know he's knackered and prob won't get more than a few minutes dozing while in transit. I shall be off to bed in a mo, and he'll call and wake me to let me know that he's arrived. We're forecast some more snow through tonight and tomorrow morning and it's to be a bitter cold day. I shall be out and about though, curves, rubbish run, walking... I got my new coat this evening, so I'll be trying it out to see if it keeps me snuggly and warm. Right, off to bed I go, see you all later. Have a great morning. :) |
 I'm a Norf Londoner but the tornado missed me :D I was at work at the time in Watford, and the storm passed over here heading south.
I had a good time last night at kickboxing - learnt some new sparring techniques, learnt that I am better than a v good (in my opinion) fighter :D and that I'll probably be sparring with him on Monday in the tournament. I just have to get the Neuro-linguistic-programming done before then and I might actually beat him! I'm a little battered this morning though - I have a badly bruised foot  But it should go down soon, my forearms look like someone's done me over with a baseball bat and I managed to slice open my big toe on someone else's toenail EEEEEW! But apart from that it's all good :D Tonight we're off up to Yorkshire :D :D :D Christmas dinner tomorrow in my new little black dress and then Sunday lunch, then work Christmas dinner on Monday :hun: |
Eew, your toe doesn't sound nice!
I'm a glutton for punishment, I did the horrible speed session again this morning, but a bit faster. Very hard work, but it's meant to be. My legs are all nice and smooth now, and my hair has been straightened so I just need a quick change after work and I'm all set. I'm not going to drink too much (hmm, I've said that before) because I've got a long run planned for tomorrow and I know how horrible it will be if I'm hungover. I'm not going to abstain entirely at this one, but I will try to be sensible. I've got a camera, so I'll see if I can get photos. |
Ooooh get you Miss Sleek n Pretty ;)
Gotta get pictures  |
Morning!
I'm pretty much over my cold now - just the bright red nose left - and my appetite has woken back up so I'm having a hungry-all-the-time day. :( I'll look forward to Helen's schoolgirl pictures - :crossed: that you aren't the only one in fancy dress. Frus - lucky you with the Christmas Dinner. Have a nice time up here. We go past the turning to your parents' village each time we go to Whitby. Silly question that you might know the answer to - is it that little railway further down the Moor the one that is used for the Hogwarts Express in the Harry Potter films? I thought I'd lost Ellie for good this morning - she saw a deer and chased it - the deer went through a hedge and the boys normally stop chasing at hedges - but Ellie just carried on and on - straight through the hedge, across the next field and through the hedge the other side - then she was completely out of sight. It took ages for her to find her way back to me. The ex sister in law couldn't really find anything politely rude to say about my appearance yesterday except to tell me that a) I look tired and b) the weight loss shows in my face. Nice. I was too polite to mention that she'd gone up at least 4 dress sizes since I last saw her AND she's had her lovely wavy chestnut hair dyed matt black and straightened which looks very peculiar with her ultra pale skin tones. (DH said she looked like a walking corpse - after she'd gone, of course!) Do you remember that a couple of weeks back I had dinner with a couple that had two sets of twin girls and another one on the way - well the one on the way showed up on the scan as another set of twins... girls again! |
Yup Hogwarts Express is indeedy filmed on the NYMR (or at least it was for the first film since I was in it! ) The engine is Olton Hall painted-up in maroon. :o <--- NERD ALERT! I think before they painted it red it was BR green.
Poor twins!  Oh and platform 9 3/4 is actually platform 5 at King's Cross!!!! We saw it on our way up to Edale...  |
Hey maybe Hogwarts Express will be hauling the dinner train tomorrow
|
Cor - you're a film star!!!!!!!!!!!! What did you do in the film???
This is so sad but I have to confess that both DH and I are HP fans. I love the books and films and he loves the films and PS2 games. |
