I was going to suggest leaving them outside your local weight watchers ;) :D they'd soon go... Spare wine oh to have that dilemma... give them as a present (to meeeeeeeee). :p
My sister has just annoyed me showing me some little bottles of fizz she's bought as stocking fillers. I was going to do the same :tantrum: Will I ever buy any presents?! |
 Weight Watchers :lol3: That's too cruel  :lol3:

Afternoon from **** alert. Still, at least it meant no snacking on the chocolate that appeared outside my office.
Thankfully got some documents out of the door at about 4.58 so can go home once my heart rate goes down a bit and I can summon up the energy to stand up... |
Hello all. I've signed up to run again, the Great Manchester run in May and the Great North Run in September. I'm getting my motivation back!
Father Christmas came early, and left me an Aussie Ashes replica cricket shirt!!! We're allowed to wear sports tops for the next two weeks, so I was allowed to have it early! Fortunately the boys are doing us proud of late! I'm getting quite tired getting up at 5 am to watch an hour or so of cricket before work! I'll be glad when the silly season is over, there's too much food in our office! |
 Hello Kyk
I've just seen a newspaper ad for Eve magazine it said 'The real miracle diet - women losing pounds through prayers' :D That's not the article about YP is it? :p   Ok I know it's not, it's the wrong month ;) It's a shame as it had a £1 coupon off it. :D |
I think that's in this month's. Not me, honest ;)
Hello Kylie, good on you for signing up for the runs! I'm trying to cook risotto so had better get back to stirring... |
Sarah my mom is 73 she has gotten so tiny over the past few years I was beginning to worry but now her weight seems to have stabalized at about 120 lbs. She has definitely shrunk though.
I on the other hand went to the doc today and apparently I grew!!!! How does that happen I'm 39, but today they told me I was 5'4...very happy. Oh and since last year I have lost 14 lbs. YAY, 30 lbs in the last 2 years. It may not be fast but at least it is the right direction. Chris Boston is definitely not a city you can see by car, you would be smart to do a trolley tour or something. They have the ones where you can jump on and off so I'm sure it's nice. It's also a great walking city, I'd be happy to take you on a tour any time :) CG we don't have world market but I know what it is from living in Chicago, I wish we had them here. Now I have to try mince pie....confession I don't really even know what it is. I'm off for a run now, I spent my afternoon playing touch football with my students it was a blast. |
Hello all.
Redsoxgirl there must be a British shop or a grocer in Boston where you can buy a jar of mincemeat. It's a sweet combination of fruits like raisins, sultanas, currants, orange peel and mixed spice. What about stop n shop they might sell it. Chris anywhere up there that sell mincemeat? We have to find some for redsoxgirl :D Chris did your mum's luggage arrive? Peacock all that food sounds scrummy. The oh just cut the tree down with his axe:fr: the one that got damaged in the ice storm. My oldest is home for the christmas break doing laundry as we speak. |
Oh I forgot to add that my Mom wasn't digging through trash bags or anything. The bowl was on top of some boxes. There was a wok there too, thank God it was too big for her to carry and my SIL and I were way down the block refusing to acknowledge that the trash-picking woman belonged to us so we couldn't help her. :)
The area we were in is where John Kerry lives, I told her to say that the bowl was his and sell it on e-bay. |
Whoops, unlurking here to tell RSG that iI grew up in the Boston area, and - at least when I was a kid - they sold mincemeat in all the grocery stores. When I was quite young it came in a box, a solid block that you had to soak in boiling water. Later on you could get it in the jars. I'm sure you should be able to find it in the seasonal foods at a Stop&Shop or Shaw's. It's one of my favorites. :)

Excellent, Shaws is right outside my door.
Oh more on my Mom, she just called and informed that the perfect bowl had a crack so she threw it out. She's out of her mind. |
 @ RSG Mum trash digging... I got a rather nice garden pot that someone threw out when we lived in NJ... and CG got some nice ruhbarb that she made a delish crumble with (it was just laying on the top of garden waste as she walked down the road after having a cuppa with me) I nearly got a very nice glass round patio table too, some people were moving out and it was sitting on the side of the road and I made Dave walk back down with me to hoof it up the road, it was then I discovered that the movers had put it by the side of the road to load last... so we decided they wouldn't be very happy if we just picked it up and legged it up the road... it was really nice too.
One case arrived last night at 11.45... and they've just rung now and said the other will be delivered between 9 and midnight, so it'll be another late night. CG, are you feeling better today? I'll call for a natter over the weekend. Has the parcel arrived yet? I didn't get to curves this morning as had to show J where the bank was so he could open an account and then we had a little trip around the shops. Got a few more Christmas pressies, so just a few more to get now and I'll be done. I've opened a packet of liquorice allsorts today, and have eaten a few. Mum was really good with bringing the Cadbury's and Brit bits, the Cadbury bars are the little snack size ones so I won't have a whopping big chunk and pile the pounds on :) Ok, everyone have a super duper weekend, it's supposed to be mild here, so we'll be out and about and enjoying it. |
:p Chinese food and drink don't mix... they did one time in my life.... but either I am getting way to old or I just can't take my drink anymore...
Anyone else ever had that "I'm not drinking again feeling" when they wake up after the night before whilst throwing up! I think it will be Orange Juice at the Christmas works party next week! |
I've had that feeling, and this time it seems to have pretty much stuck over a month on. I've had a couple of drinks in that time, but rarely more than one at a time, and I've come back completely sober from a couple of parties. The plus side is that it seems to have shifted a pound or so of weight.
