Default Mineral supplements

Hello
Is it a good idea to take mineral or vitamin supplements whilst trying to lose weight?
I have been monitoring my food intake with fitday.com, and it seems that my diet is lacking some minerals, so I was wondering whether to take a supplement or not.

I would say yes, it can only dent your wallet! Can't do you much harm unless you OD on cod liver oil, you CAN OD on certain vitamins though, so be careful.

I saw someone else post that they take children's vitamins.

It sounded like a good idea to me since I am trying to eat healthy and just need a little boost not the 1000% daily doses that some multi-vitamins give you.

I'm giving it a try.

There are some vitamins that your body cannot store or produce so its woth taking those.
If you pop into somewhere like holland and barrett they can offer you advice.

But on the other hand it also depends on what sort of diet you are on, are you cutting anything out?

This is a food analyser. You fill in what foods you eat and then click on 'submit for analysis' at the bottom and it then comes up with a list of what you are deficient in - and where you can get them from without having to take supplements.

Having said that, I do take a multi-vit supplement and quite a lot of Omega oil.
