Go for it! I enjoy exercising alone as well (walking, lifting weights, swimming, abs, stretches, yoga, etc) but I do enjoy my Monday aerobics class. Before I went for the first time I was sure that I would hate it but I'm finding it great to be able to talk to the instructor about any questions I've got about what I'm doing and where I'm going with my exercise / nutrition - but best of all is the other women who are a lovely and very funny bunch.

You gotta laugh.... (arghhh!)

DH had his windscreen shatter by (he thinks) a loose road chip that came up from an oncoming car (or maybe someone shot at him - who knows!) No problem - its insured and they guarantee a 24 hour service! He phoned the insurance company which is through a major roadside assistance company and they say they will get their specified windscreen fixing sub-contractor type person to phone DH telling him when his 'appointment window' will be.

He arranged for them to ring me and I just had the phone call.... AND THE :censored: 'APPOINTMENT WINDOW' IS BETWEEN 2AM AND 3AM .... thats right AM - yes, the AM thats in the middle of the night - the one that normally happens when I'm asleep!!!

When I expressed a little mild surprise (and possibly some confusion) I was told that they are a 24 hour service - and that the only windows they've got available for the next few days are between 2am to 3am or, alternatively 3am to 4am. I had to agree to 2am to 3am because DH leaves for work at 5am and if I agreed to the later window they couldn't agree to get it fixed in time. Oh goody.

Now... when someone next says they do a 24 hour service I recommend that you double check what their definition of a 24 hour service actually is!

OMG - the neighbours are gonna love us!

kykaree 07-10-2006 09:21 AM

 24 hour service

Don't you be getting up to attend to it, and buy yourself some ear plugs.

I'm :dizzy: today, keep having to be reminded what continent I am in :D

Interesting 24 hour service there... :dz:  :coffee:

Look out the window Kyk if it's raining you're in The North. I love this rain I hope it stays until August at least. :D :p

No more Dr Who spoilers :nono: We've only just watched the 2 parter with the devil thing! I'll miss Billie

I'm so full of food. Been on the road all day, have cold, feel ill and all carb-coma-ry. Got to teach small brats kickboxing in a bit. Gah! Can't I just go to bed. Any ideas what I can do with them that involves not moving much?

Pachyderm 07-10-2006 11:10 AM

Welcome back Kykaree. It's a shame that you have missed all the really hot weather, and now it's :censored: awful again in time for your return.

I am back to running again. I went out for the first time yesterday, and I think that I am all better. I'm going to be doing some more exercise on my rest days now as well, so hopefully my fitness will improve in leaps and bounds.

On Saturday I bought myself the most beautiful pair of shoes :D as a reward for reaching my second mini goal early, and then today I have gone up a pound despite my good eating and exercise  . Anyway, I've never really been into shoes before, but they are great because they'll still fit at my goal weight. I spent the rest of the week tearing my house apart, sorting through things to take to jumble sales or try to sell in order to make more space. Finally put my bedroom back together in the early hours last night....and I have just the same amount of floor and cupboard space as before :?: Now I'm very tired and I will definately be having an early night tonight!

Sarah, evil windscreen fitters  I hope you can get a lie in tomorrow!

Pachyderm 07-10-2006 11:15 AM

Frus, I bet you could get through a lot of the lesson by making them up their general fitness by doing circuit training. Then you can just stay in one pace and shout :coach:

Sarah Ann 07-10-2006 11:23 AM

Welcome back Kylie - do you get jet lag with an Australia - UK trip or is that only from a west to east air journey?

Its still very warm here, dry and windy but cloudy. Feels like there might be a storm later.

I'm going to get up to deal with the windscreen people - its not DH's fault that it happened and he's got to go to work tomorrow whereas I, technically, could stay in bed all day if I wanted to - not that I ever do. I do so hope they don't show up at 2.55!

I'm just back from my exercise class - she finished off by doing some pelvic floor exercises and then told us we should get our husbands/partners to do it as well because it protects them from prostate problems. Interesting - I didn't know that. It also has another effect on them which I shan't go in to here - enough to say that with regular practice they may not need any viagra in the future!

Don't count on it - I've now gone down a whole shoe size!

Pachyderm 07-10-2006 11:36 AM

Sarah, I was the same shoe size before I put on the weight, so I'm sure they'll still be ok. They are really nice, my skinny and trendy supermodel type sister is very jealous of them. Hehehe!

kykaree 07-10-2006 11:37 AM

Yep jet lag is apparently worse going to UK than going to Australia. I find it's hard to get back into routine, so the sooner you start, the better it is. So I only got back Saturday and am in work already. I am going to the gym in a minute for a quick workout, just to start getting used to it again.

Sarah Ann 07-11-2006 04:07 AM

Well, I was wrong. Mr Windscreen Fixit didn't show up at 2.55am - it was 2.59am - yawn! It took ages to fix, probably because the poor bloke was exhausted - he told me he's got a full time day job as well so he only gets 4 hours sleep each day. As he drove off he clipped the reflective post at the end of the road - scary! I didn't bother going back to bed, just took the dogs for an early walk, did some eBay stuff and now I'm going to have a LONG nap.

Pachyderm 07-11-2006 04:23 AM

Poor you! That is quite worrying about the windscreen fitter, in reality I think that it is just as dangerous to be tired as to be drunk while driving. I certainly concentrate less even if I'm a little tired (like now, the number of typos I made while typing this was quite impressive).

Have a good day everyone.

Sarah Ann 07-11-2006 09:07 AM

OMG - that was a very long nap - I probably won't sleep tonight now.

I missed swimming :( I think I'll do some yoga - not quite the same but just as nice in its own way.

What happened to the weather? When I went back to bed this morning it was cloudy and windy and now its hot and summy with a light breeze!

micheleherts 07-11-2006 01:11 PM

Hello everyone

I could do with a sleep myself, but I am going out with two friends and Ken the dog walking. I went to the gym last night and worked really hard I was a right
sweaty betty.

My mouth is a little less sore today thank god.

Lovely to see you back Kykaree.

Take good care everyone

Michele
