Good Luck Frus!! (did I say that yesterday? But the race is tonight so I'll say it again) Tell us all about how it went!
I am officially mad. Today I: (a) woke up at 5.30 and decided to get the early bus to the gym rather than going back to sleep for 30 minutes, so I could run 9 miles instead of 6. (b) printed off a running route round the hotel I'm staying in on Friday night so that I can get 10k done before I go to the airport to check in. Mad, mad, mad... |
two people have told me today how skinny I look which go figure is strange as I've actually gained weight this week.
I can't believe this woman with excess skin on channel 4 now. Ouch. |
Good morning all, I'm about to go to the gym. My instructor has written me a cardio programme, and it's so cool, but it's really hard. And it involves the stairmaster which I hate, it's so high up!!!
Sarah Ann how did the induction go?? What did you wear in the end??? I'm still working for the other department, despite my little dummy spit on Friday. They can't release me til they have a replacement.........so I have been seconded until 26 May at this stage. Ah well. I'm not stressed now though, no point! If I can't do all the work, I can't do it, I only get 7 hours a day to work, just like everyone else! Off I go to get my bus!!! |
 Hello all!
Time was: 34:36 which isn't bad to say I'd been up since 6:30am and had been walking round London since about 9am! And I ran all the way and only stopped when I thought I might be sick! I've found another lovely dress! Argh! It's in Berketex Brides and it's all beaded and close fitting and very art deco, it's got a nice pattern on the bottom of it that really draws your eye. I can't find it anywhere else though, I've searched the net and come up with a blank. The only thing is Berketex charge £180 for a "fitting and alteration package" Well it doesn't really need fitting or altering, but what if I lose or gain after I've ordered it? I suppose I'll have to be very strict and maintain after it's ordered! We're off to see the lacey one that I posted the other day - with the high neck. Now it's hard to decide! :tantrum: |
Frus - WELL DONE!!!
Have you taken any pictures of the Berkertex dress? Which did your Mum prefer? I hope you're having a great time with your parents. Kyk - At least they now know that you won't put up with unlimited amounts of :censored: being thrown in your direction. :crossed: that they find a replacement soon. The induction went fine. I don't have that many clothes at the moment so it seemed most sensible to wear what I normally wear to work out in - which is a pair of those cropped workout legging thingies with a matching vest - and those new Nike trainers. There were 7 of us being 'induced' - or is it 'inducted' - well... there were 7 of us having an induction. 2 were what I thought were 'older' ladies who were wearing skirts and 'nice' knitted cardies (it turned out they were the same age as me!!), another 2 were wearing jeans and crop tops - and the other girl was wearing joggers and a vest. As the lad giving the induction said after, he doesn't expect to see the older ladies or the girls in jeans again! The induction was very basic - as was the gym - so we'll use it but in the meantime we're going to look around and see if we can find something a bit more up to date. Its cheap enough - £23.50 per month for unlimited use of the gym and swimming pool - or £3.80 per visit/use. If you take out a yearly subscription the monthly payment reduces to £18.50. DH was in his element - the gym was full of women - so much for the gossip! I did a great leg w/o - but I'm going to have to figure out how not to get bruised shoulders with the squat machine thing. |
OMG - DH was a bit gobsmacked when the muscly lad giving us the induction showed us pictures of him 18 months ago - so now DH has got the bug - I just caught him out in the garden with my skipping rope! :lol3: :lol3:

Well done Frus! Hope you enjoyed it.
It's quiet round here today, and I don't have time to add much, I had to get the bus home from Spanish because the people who give me a lift weren't there, so my journey took 45 minutes longer and I still have packing to do before I leave the house in the morning. I did 30 minutes on the treadmill and some leg weights this morning, tomorrow needs to be a rest day so I can get that packing done I think! |
 Hello all!
The parents are on their way home now! PHEW! All I can say is, boy did we EAT! :hun: My size 12 cropped trousers/city shorts didn't fit this morning! and the wedding dress yesterday was a bit tight! Ah well, it was all lovely food! It'll all come off again since I'm going to the gym tonight and then :yoga: Ok, on to the dresses now! ;) The lady in the Berketex shop wouldn't let us take photos :tantrum: and she wasn't particularly helpful. By the time we went to see the other sparkly dress with the choker halter collar thing, I'd talked myself out of the Berketex dress! So I've ordered the sparkly one that I posted in that other thread! :D :D It looked better than I remembered it, and I was having a fat day and a bad hair day! All the ladies in the shop were ooohing and aaaahing about it, and they said, "Well if you're having a bad day and you look this fab, then it's probably the right dress!" Which is so true! So we put a deposit down on it after we'd stuffed our faces in Pizza Express! Oh and DF has decided that he wants to go to Morocco. For the weekend. He always wants to go somewhere! I wonder what he's running away from :chin: |
OOOOOH!
I just got a Runner's World e-mail about YP! :D |
Hi everyone - isn't it WARM! I've been lazing out in the garden having coffee with a couple of neighbours. I took the dogs for their walk but they weren't much interested because it was too hot.
Frus, I wonder why the Berkertex shop wouldn't let you take pictures - maybe they thought you were an industrial spy or something. Anyway you looked stunning in that other dress, its hard to think you could find a better one. Morocco - for the weekend????? You'll spend the entire weekend travelling. I've decided that my Christmas holiday has gone on long enough and its time for me to get back to doing some work. I'm also bored with doing the housework (I hate housework) and we can only afford someone to come in and do it for us if I'm working... oh well... it was a lovely holiday! I'm not quite sure what sort of product I want to sell this time - if anyone has any good ideas then PLEASE let me know. |
"because of copyright" apparently.... The fact that copyright only applies to written and graphic images..... I would hold the copyright on the photos. I think she meant design rights, but then she was a disinterested shop dolly!
I know Morocco for the weekend. What a nutter! It's apparently "near spain" - the fact that it's mentally hot, I would have to wear long sleeves and the amount of jet fuel to get us there! |
I've been to Morocco for the weekend ;) (Well, a long weekend, but still a weekend). It's fab and I certainly didn't spend the weekend wearing a long sleeved top - as long as you don't go round wearing a bikini you're fine in the tourist areas like Marrakesh to wear a strappy dress or something like that. The flight isn't that bad either, it's less time than it will take me to get to Spain tomorrow.
I got the email too. Fame at last!!! I can't wait for 5pm, I'll be out of here at lightening speed and off on my hols. Have a good weekend/week/next weekend everyone! |
What's the email about??? Have I got one??? Can I go home and check???
I want to go to Morocco :tantrum: |
 In that case I suppose it'd be ok to go to Morocco then! ;)
The flight's about £150 on EasyJet - treat yourself ky! Have a lovely holiday YP :beach: |
Tell me about the email!!!
I've got no money for Morocco............London, Australia, Berlin.......... hehehehe |
